A Wee Chuckle for the day

A Group of Americans were traveling by tour bus through Holland.

As they stopped at a cheese farm, a young guide led them through the process of cheese making, explaining that goat's milk was used.

She showed the group a lovely hillside where many goats were grazing.

'These' she explained, 'Are the older goats put out to pasture when they no longer produce.

' She then asked, 'What do you do in America with your old goats?'

A spry old gentleman answered, 'They send us on bus tours!

RITA, I had thought if anyone lived near Woking they could have dropped in to the Sheltered Housing Complex and made an enquiry with a neighbour of Rita. We may get an answer that way and put us out of our misery.
I have the address if anyone needs it.

It's a real worry not hearing from Rita in such a long time.
I did have a look on face book, hoping to remember her sons name, but the name eludes me.There are a few people with the same surname, but it's the christian name that gets me.
Apart from that, I am worried in case it's not good news, and I may put my foot in it with a family member

What a good idea sending the note to Rita's address. Oooh, will you be at home should you get a reply from someone in her family, only you are going up to your sons arn't you. It would be sods law for that to happen wouldn't it.

Linda, it hurts so much to see our kin suffering, as you are having to do at the moment.
But please believe me, after the operation,in a few months time, your brother will be like a new man physically.

Stephen, I agree with what you said re Rita's manager where she lives. The woman is a complete waste of space.
Look how many times Rita had to bail her out of problems, and the darned woman was never there when the residents needed her.
I hope Mrs Stephen has allowed you a little respite today, and not taken you out Christmas shopping...ooops sorry didn't mean to swear using the word shopping, it's nearly as bad as the word, "hous*work," see I can't bring myself to say it.

Jean thank you for your card. So far my only decorations are the cards so it helps make it seem a bit more like Christmas

My brother had a little walk yesterday, bt it exhausted him, made him aware he is unwell.

It is now a double by-pass he needs, unfortunately. Just waiting til they have space for him.

Mum's checks went well, seems she is OK according to the radiologist? But she was very anxious and was scared stiff we would leave her there. I was just worried they would wheel my brother past as it is same hospital and all cardiollogy !! Mum knows he's not well but not how ill as she would be distressed and may not remember and need to be told each time she saw somebody.

I hope Rita is with her family. Still keeping her in my prayers and hope we hear soon

Yes ! A bit of a worry about Rita. I had spoken to her a wee while ago and she was having care in her home daily.

Got home last night.......but was surprised that it was fairly warm in UK ..

Today is sunny & warm....well it is here in Devon.

Today I feel OK ...but I know the Jet lag will be here sooooooon ..LOl

Got the grand Children coming to see me this afternoon...hmm they know I have prezzies :-D

I'm off again in a weeks time to Norwich ....so I have to put my skates back on, I have to cook a dinner on Monday for my Dad & his wife before I go away ...I'm trying to make it a bit Christmassy as I normally cook a Christmas dinner for them ,but this year I haven't got time so they will have to make do with a plain old Roast dinner .

Thanks Linda & Mo for your cards.....I'm sorry I wont be able to send any back as I'm fully booked every day until I go away to Norwich ....My cards are all in the Loft hat I bought last year in the sales ,so I don't think Pete would be too happy to get them down for me as he is also busy with a thousand other chores !! :-S

Based on what Rita has said in the past about the Sheltered Housing Manager I'm not holding my breath waiting on a response.

Morning all, our snow has gone, it's still very cold but nice and bright.

Stephen, that news about Rita's phone is very worrying, I wonder if she's moved in with one of her children. I hope someone in her family gets back to you soon so we can find out if she's OK.

Sorry to hear about your brother, Linda, Mo's right about the operation though, most people who have it do get a new lease of life. I hope he gets it soon and all goes well.

RITA.......

I have tried without success to contact her by phone. Her number is no longer listed..

However I did make contact with the Manager of her Sheltered Housing Complex.

As I expected she could not give me any information for Privacy reasons.

She did take my home phone number and said she would pass it on to Ritas family
for them to contact me.

Also she does know that Rita has a lot of friends on GR whom she spoke about.

FINGERS CROSSED ON THIS ONE.........

I'll keep you posted if I hear anything.
