Evening all I've just had my younger brother and his family and also Davids wife and his childrenall here for a pre-planned get together. It was quite nice, good food and a few drinks and hopefully we lifted each others spirits too. They were a bit down when they arrived as he has had a small set back in that his heart is out of normal rythm, not unusual, but unlikely he will be home tomorrow. I would have been amazed if he was but they were all so hopeful. A later call said he was comfortable and a text from him said he was OK.
Still keeping Rita and her family in my thoughts. Thank you Mo and Stephen for the contact.
Pauline sorry for your sad loss. But so many of our older family members just get tired and seem ready to go to meet those who have gone before............. even those who profess to have no beliefs. Hubbys Uncle too.
Maddie are you working tomorrow? If so I hope it goes quickly. Then enjoy any time for yourself over Christmas. I know it goes all to quickly, having worked for Boots many years ago and only Bank Holidays off, even going in for emergency prescriptions for an hour too.
Shelly hope you have a lovely Christmas with your youngsters too.
Stephen enjoy your down time when you and Lady Stephen have done your helping, then time with your own family too.
Off to pick up Father in Law tomorrow then with Sebastian and his family on Christmas Day. Boxing Day is all of them to us in our home.
If I don't get back please enjoy Christmas everyone

Oh how very sad. There will be more than a few tears shed over Christmas now.
Firstly, keep fighting Rita. My thoughts are with her son and family.
Stephens' friend. How tragic.
And my friend that I told Stephen about a few months ago. He is very ill. He has not been out for weeks now. His partner is trying to be brave, but is very hard for her.
If I dont get back. Please keep well and warm and look after yourselves. I will look in obviously, but may not post.
Merry Christmas all. Prayers and thoughts for those who are among our number.

I'm sad.
Lady Stephen has just informed me that my Gymnastic Coach from the days of my youth is now in a Secure Psychiatric Unit.
He shaped and formed my early life and took me to a high level of fitness and performance.not only in Gymnastics but also Swimming and Diving
The last time i spoke to him was at a wedding about 4 years and he seemed a wee bit vague then.
What a sad outcome for a chap that was gifted in many ways.

Stephen, thank you for speaking to John. It must be so heart breaking for them all, knowing it's only a question of time. It's nice to know that John was there when you phoned Rita, and you were able to let him know we are thinking of her. I have just checked Face Book, and there is no news. So it looks like our dear Rita, is still fighting. Bless you Rita. <3 <3 <3
Huia, don't tell me the darned rats are back again. I have told you before, you make them to comfortable, and they don't want to leave you. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Going to take a look at Huia photo's now, so byee.

Hi there Stephen. Good evening from me.
The fleas are, I think, from rats, possibly also mice. I live in the country and have problems with them coming indoors. The cat no longer goes for them. There seem to be 2 sizes of fleas, so I presume the small ones are from mice and the bigger ones from rats. As the cat is refusing to come inside in summer I can keep the doors shut now so the rats cant get in that way, but I have traps set just in case.
I raised over $850 from my haircut. I am not sure of the exact amount as there is still some to come in. My hair is slowly growing back, but I will have it cut again next month to keep it short for a while.
I have just been outside to 'shoot' the sunset. I must have hundreds of photos of the sunsetting taken from our verandah. They are all different. Also lots of sunrises too. We are supposed to be having rain over the next few days, the tail end of the cyclone that devastated Samoa and Fiji. I hope it is not too bad tomorrow when I am going to visit my husband in Mangere, and Christmas day when I will be driving over the Auckland Harbour Bridge to have Christmas lunch with my sister and others. I just hope any other drivers on the road are sober and sensible.

Morning Huia,
What kind of 'fleas' ? Is it a major problem where you live.
How is your hair coming on ? What amount did you raise for Charity.
I've told a Major Charity that I'm willing to have a Hair Transplant to raise funds for them. They didn't reply.
Are you all set for Santa?
Nice to 'hear' from you.
Best wishes,
Stephen

I am still around, Stephen. In fact they dont come much rounder than I am :-( I just dont always post.
Today I set off a couple of flea bombs then left the house for a couple of hours. I went over to 'the valley' and took some photos. After the 2 hours wait I then had to open all the windows and doors to air the place for half an hour before I could stay inside and turn things on. I just hope that has put a stop to the nasty little fleas for the next year, although it says 9 months on the cans.
Anybody who is on facebook can probably find me now under my full name Huia Jean Mitchell. I have put some more photos on my page.

Good evening everyone, I have been in contact with Rita's son John earlier. Rita is still with us, bless her fighting to the very end. John said that the reverend has been in to see Rita today, and she was very pleased to see him. They had heavily sedated her at tea time, and John has gone back home as he had been there since 9.a.m this morning, to get some rest. He is expecting to be called back soon. Bless you Rita, you are in our thoughts. <3 <3 <3
Pauline, I am sorry to hear about your aunts passing. But what a way for her to go. But it must have been a shock for you, with her collapsing in your arms like that. She must have waited for you, to arrive, before she felt she could leave you all. May she rest in peace.
Even though you have been unable to get through to Rita, John has been relaying any messages she has received to her.
Linda, best wishes to your OH for his special day. Are you going out to celebrate?
Stephen, why would you want a 25 year old, when you have got your lovely wife, oooh you are a naughty thing, and we know you don't really mean it. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Maddie, it's all the rushing about thats making you feel a bit iffy. Never mind love, you can have a break in a couple of days time. But then the sales start don't they.
Right I am orft to watch the final of Strictly Come Dancing. Bye for now folks. Mo

Hi Pauline,
Thanks for dropping in......nice to hear from you. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Rather tragic about your Aunt. Although good that she did not linger in illness. Even when expected the end is always a shock and great sadness for those that loved the person. RIP
I trust that YOU are on the mend. Has Brent had his Christmas Party ? Is your OH coping well with 'retirement' ? Bet he's getting under your skin !!!!!!!!!!! And you feel you need a bit of space. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
Don't stay away so long......we miss you.
PS. Lady Stephen said I can have a 25 year old !!!!!!!!! As long as it's in a bottle and called Malt. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Morning everyone........... well, it's not very good really because it's dark and wet again - 3 days nonstop rain.
I'm so sorry to hear that Rita has taken a turn for the worse, it's very sad. I've been trying for days to get through to her but got the answer machine each time. I guess she must have been too ill to be able to talk to anyone. :-( :-( :-(
Thank you, Mo, for keeping us up to date with how Rita is getting on, will you please let her son know we're all thinking of her?
My aunt died yesterday, she collapsed in my arms on Thursday afternoon and died yesterday (Friday) afternoon. It was very sad but not unexpected because she was nearly 94. She was amazing really because she lived on her own and did all her own housework and cooking, right to the end. She was only ill for one day and then she died in her sleep - with all her family around her..... couldn't ask for more really!
At least we've got some good news............. Jean's scan showed she's still fighting and not letting the cancer beat her........... and Linda's brother got through the operation and is on the mend. :-) :-) :-)
Thank you for the lovely card, Yvonne. :-D :-D
Edit: Happy Birthday to Linda's husband. :-) :-)
Stephen............ :-D :-D :-D
