I have just received the following email supposedly from Linda.

IT'S OBVIOUSLY A SCAM......... DO NOT RESPOND IN ANY WAY

Hope you get this on time, We made a trip to Manilla,Philippine and had our bags stolen from us with our phones and credit cards in it. The embassy is willing to help by letting us fly back home since we still have our passports, We just have to pay for our ticket and settle Hotel bills. Unfortunately for us, I don't have access to funds without my credit card, I've made contact with my bank but they need more time to come up with a new one. I was thinking of asking you to lend me $1,600 that I can give back as soon as We get home. We really need to be on the next available flight.

Western Union is the best option to send money to me. Let me know if you need my details(Full names location) to make the transfer,you can also reach me via email.

I HAVE REPORTED THE SCAM TO HOTMAIL WHO WILL PROBABLY TAKE CARE OF THINGS TO PREVENT ANY FURTHER EMAILS FROM THE HACKER.

So glad its all over get back to normal. I am back home for awhile i hope.

Stephen its dark here now did see the sun rise was very red out there so going to be a cold day. So will have to wrap up warm. Wasnt going to go out until later but got to go and check see if my money was put in new years eve like the lady said when i phoned them. Still saying didnt get my sick note.

Had to call doctor in to my ex yesterday as not been feeling well for a week, but hadnt told anyone. as he has a heart problem told him he needed to get it checked{we are not together but we do get on better now then we did when lived in same house.} What with having Caitlin in hospital over the weekend. I am hoping will have it all going ok for awhile.

Good morning to all the friendlies,
Only just caught up with my emails and found out about Rita, how very sad for her family. She was certainly a very lovely lady and will be missed greatly.
I should pop in more often and catch up on the thread.

Had a very busy Christmas with the little ones (2 had chicken pox) and then thought we may have to go over to England and see my mother in law who wasn't too good over christmas with a serious chest infection and ended up in hospital. She is now back in the nursing home and doing better so fingers crossed.

The fireworks display up in London was Brilliant Stephen. And made even better by the fact that we were at home, in the warm watching them. lol

Marilyn, the name Oldfield is probably Rita's daughter Rita's married name. And our Rita was definately called Dicks.
I hope that sorts out any confusion love.

I have only ever sent cards to Rita with the surname Dicks !!

Strange that .......!!!!!

Oh well I hope the Funeral Directors have it correct ...
