A warm start to the day.

Sounds like the country is going to come to a standstill because of the expected snow, warnings to stay indoors unless you really have to travel, lots of schools closed, supermarket shelves almost empty, all on the news this morning.
The children now dont have as much fun as we had, we used to love walking to school in the snow, snowball fights, making snowmen etc. Schools didn't close and buses continued to run.

Oh dear, am rambling on, sorry, am old and sometimes think about the 'old' days.

Hello all, brrr! very cold this morning, and forecast to get even colder, have so many layers on I look like the Michelin X man. lol.

Any snow where you are Stephen? If the forecast is right the whole country will be covered by tomorrow night.

Sandy McTavish had an old friend, Jock Murdock, who was quite ill.

Sandy went to visit him and Jock said, "Sandy, I've only a short time to live, I'm on my death bed lad."

Sandy knew that and in a non-committal way he said, "Aye, that a' know old friend."

Jock turned to Sandy and said, "Sandy, de ye know that old bottle of Scotch that I have been saving all these years."

Sandy was immediately attentive and said, "Aye Jock, that I do."

Jock said, "ye are good friend and when I've passed I would have yee pour that Scotch on ma grave."

Sandy was profoundly moved .After considering Jocks request for an agonizing period he brightened up, turned to Jock. and said

"Aye- aye Jock I'll de that for an old friend, but ye wouldna mind if I put it through my kidneys first."

Surprise this morning......the temperature is higher that I expected......only a very light frost.....the local hills are plastered with snow down to around 500ft. The distant hills have a heavy covering though. Hope it stays there.

Yvonne......it must be difficult in Winter caring for the horse. Do you stable him a lot?. I take it he/she wears a coat.

Lady Stephen is heading for the Dentist this morning to have a mollar extracted.
She hates going to the Dentist despite the fact she very rarely needs anything done other than a clean and polish. I better go with her and hold her hand :-| :-| :-| :-| :-|

When asked how he could mastermind such a crime and then make such an obvious error, he replied,

I had forgotten that Edmund Hillary had been a Beekeeper.A group of us did a sponsored Mountain Marathon to raise funds for a school he was building in Nepal. He continued this work right up to the end of his life.
The 29th May this year will be the 60th Anniversary of Everest first ascent by Hillary and Tenzing.
