A couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.

When they were asked what their secret was to a long lasting marriage they said:

"We take the time to go out to a restaurant twice a week.

A candlelight dinner, soft music and a slow walk home.

She goes on Tuesdays, and I go on Fridays."

A wee drop more snow last night. Just a sprinkling. Luckily we haven't had the really strong winds that was forecast. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Liz, Safer indoors than out if you are at all unsure. My wife and I use our Walking Poles when we are walking on the snow and ice, we also have Ice Grippers that we can pull over our shoes. BUT if you don't have to go out dont go.

Mo, It's always a problem with the Birdbath freezing. I used to sit a pot of hot water on the top and let it melt through. It's then easier to break the rest of the ice out. My birds are not feeding so much just now, they must be roosting somewhere to keep warm.

Well time to get the snow shovel out and do some clearing before it gets ahead of me. :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P

Mo, did you try pouring boiling water on the bird bath?

Oooh it's been snowing all day here, and it's now at least four inches deep, and it's still coming down.
I cleared a path down the garden earlier, but that was a waste of time, it's just as bad now as it was earlier.
Tried to break the ice on the bird bath, but that was a no go area. I am afraid to hit it to hard in case I break it, then the poor birds will have no water at all, when I can get it defrosted that is they will have something to drink.
We were supposed to be going to Lilly's birthday party today, but most of us have had to cry off, because of not being able to get out of our close. The roadway is like a skating rink already, let alone what it will be like by the morning.

Morning Stephen and everyone, hope you are all warm and safe, I am just off to bed after I have put the bird food and water out, I don't leave anything out all night as it freezes, even had the water standing all night to lose the chlorine, can't get any out of the water butts. Our robins and blackbirds love the stuff I put out but the tits seem to just like the seed holder. I just want to help them stay alive, it's bitterly cold outside and I have been in all week as I am afraid to walk in the ice and o.h. has had to use the car for work, too cold and dangerous to cycle with roads so icy. Norwich has had some snarl ups and two you tube hits with the slippery pavement one and the pushing a bus up a hill one. Wish the snow would go, I don't mind dry cold but hate snow or rain and terrified of falling down on the ice again after the last time, which left me poorly for weeks with post concussive syndrome.

Four people killed in an Avalanche yesterday. It happened in an area that I know well. The Avalance Risk Warning was very high so perhaps they weren't experienced or
perhaps just unfortunate. :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

Morning All. Just breaking the icicles off the end of my nose! That will teach me to come in from the cold, my nose runs!!!!! lol

I've done me dags already this morning, taken the dog for a walk, she was like a mad thing, cleared the steps, done me ironing, and made breakfast. I have a bit of sewing and mending to do, then I can sit and watch some of my Christmas pressie DVD's.

The cold is really bad for K's knees, so he will currently sitting in the bath, exercising them.

The good looking woman is ME, Stephen. Nah it is Theda Bara a silent film actress, all my avatars are of her in various film roles. I think she is beautiful and mysterious.

Two roofers, Larry and Joe were on the roof laying tiles, when a sudden wind gust came and knocked down their ladder.

A Canadian friend has snow nearly 3ft deep just now and is expecting the temperature to go down to around -30C. Why the heck can't we cope with a little snow fall ? The Country comes to a standstill. :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S

Yes, it is snowing, yes it is inconvenient, but crikey it is not the end of the world. I dont understand how everything comes to a standstill. How do they cope in Canada and Russia?

Went out in me green wellies, not Hunters by the way, and trudged along to get my shopping. I had a big scarf around my neck, and another around my head. I looked like a peasant, but could not hold an umbrella with two bags of shopping!!

Hope everyone is well and warm. I do admire you Jean, you are very courageous. Chemo is a nasty thing to have.

Wonder if our friends have struggled to get shopping done, with travel problems.
I had trouble getting to Christies but finally arrived just in time for my chemo, then came home and haven't been out since except to see to the horses.
Think I will have an early night and read my book.
