Jean ...thanks for the cuppa, just got up its nearly 8am here.

Had a few shocks ......my sister tells me my Dad FELL out of an ambulance !!
Now how many have you heard of anyone falling out of an ambulance ?

Now sit back I have a story to tell !!

Dad had to go to hospital as he fell at home and doctor told him he has thrombosis in his leg, it had swollen up doctor gave him an injection there and then........a neighbour offered to go in the Ambulance with him, but they refused her .......as his wife is 99yrs and unable to see very well ......and of course 3 of my dads children are all away .I have another sister 60miles away too far for her to come on an emergency.

Anyway he had to have an X-ray ......but because his foot was too swollen it had to be cancelled...........Ambulance at the ready to take him home, crew put him in the ambulance strapped him in closed the doors and told him they had to wait for another patience in another part of the hospital..............he said he was waiting & waiting and got concernd about his colostomy bag being filled up and spilling in the ambulance as he was embarrassed to tell the crew he needed to empty his bag in the toilet !!

He unstrapped his belt ...!!!! and tried to step down from ambulance but fell out instead ! now he is 98yrs........he yelled for help and of course it came very quickly , but now they had to take him back in A&E for another 4hrs !! to be examined .
His wife by now was going frantic didn't know why he was so long at the hospital.

The reason I'm a bit annoyed is why knowing my Dad is very elderly & deaf did not allow his neighbour to go with him ....she could have explained to the crew that he needed to toilet.....and he would not have been an extra 4hrs in A&E.. :-S
I just thought maybe someone should have been with him in that ambulance as his age is a give away to looking not too grand.

He has to go next week for another X-ray when the swelling goes down . :-S

Having another cuppa now my throat is dry ... :-)

Sadly some of my school friends have gone, as you say we are all getting older.
we had a class reunion in 1997, the year we were all 60, and most of our class were there. In 2007 we had another one and several friends were missing, it was so sad to realise that we had lost some very dear friends. Wonder if we will manage another in 2017.

Hi all, yippee, snow is going here, hope it means I can safely walk out soon and also have the car as o.h. will start cycling to work again! He says he misses the exercise lol

I have been thinking about Rita's family, Jean, and yesterday I noticed in the obituary column of our local paper that another ex boyfriend of mine has died, and also an old acquaintance from way back. Suppose it's par for the course now that I am getting old, my friends are too and many of them gone already, sadly.

Yvonne, I could only find one Yvonne Pember on FB and she didnt have a dog as an avatar, unless the female in the photo is a b**ch!! If my page comes up with 'do you know this person? Send a message' that is probably how you can contact me. You obviously found my page alright. I dont know how else you can come aboard. I loosened up my security a few months ago for somebody else who couldnt find me but he still hasnt come on my page. I dont know what else to do. Persie (Norma) also had trouble getting in, but I think I was able to get her in by finding her as a friend on one of my other GR friend's FB page.

Just got off the Ship ....now settled at rented beach house......so lovely and warm .

Just relaxing and trying to exercise this excess fat I have accumulated from the cruise. :-S

So far my part of Scotland is doing ok.

The wind is getting up to a real strong blow. That will help keep things from freezing over too much.

It must be a nightmare looking after your horses in Winter and Yvonnes horse being laid up , so to speak , must be even worse.

Hi everyone, have been trying for most of the day to get on here, kept getting the 'Error' message, wish GR would get it sorted. Just got in by clicking on page 1610 then going through all the numbers.

Been very cold all day, had a lot of snow last night, and it has just started again,
so the paths will need clearing again tomorrow.

Yvonne, sorry to hear Ami is still on stable rest, hope she isn't getting too restless.

Stephen glad you didn't get the severe blizzards which were forecast foe Scotland, are your roads still clear?

Hello all

Lots of snow here , I walked to work on Friday, took about half hour. The horse has got plenty of food, she's still stabled with her ligament problem, she's got special shoes on the front feet to raise her heels to take the pressure off which has helped.
