Yvonne,
How long will it be before your horse is 100% well.?
The bad weather must have hindered progress a lot.
Been another quiet day on the Thread. :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

Morning Folks,
I'm repeating myself now. It's dark, dull and miserable here :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P
Maddie , Nice to see you posting. So you wern't flooded out ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) Is this a quieter time at work for you ?
Shelly , Once you are finished painting your place .......you can come up here and do mine.
Linda , My daughter had a Swedish Au-pair when the children were small. She was great. She still comes back to visit and sometimes brings her parents. The children thought she was magic and look forward to when she visits now. Hardly seems like a year has passed since he was born. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Jean , Perhaps folk are missing your 'Birthday Post ' alerts. Hence you dont get any notifications. Or maybe there are no Birthdays in February :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S I thought what you did was marvellous. A lot of effort on your part.
Had an email from Cath....she's been away and only returned yesterday. She says she'll drop in on us and catch up with the gossip.
Have a good day ya all !
Keep well , keep save , keep smiling :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Jean I am more than delighted that your news was good. How wonderful for you.
Stephen, I hope Mrs Stephen does not twig, it will be a lovely surprise for her.
Hope everyone else is well and warm.
Take care all. :-)

Morning Stephen and others if they around Had a busy day yesterday catching up with washing and shopping and 2 visits from a gas engineer as something went wrong in the system on our return. Put the water on to heat and strong electrical burning smell from the airing cupboard, where the hot water tank is. Turned everything off at supply and had an appointment for the morning. Efficient came at around 8:00. Did some checks on 3 way valve and pump and thought all OK. Left we turned back on and checked, burning smaell back again. Recalled the engineer, he came back after finishing the next job. Ended up spending about 3 hours with us. Changed the tank thermostat(which was corroded), the 3 way valve and the timer then the thermostat in the entrance hall. All now seems to be working well. Thank goodness for full Homecare. Dread to think what it would have cost. The timer alone was nearly a hundred pounds. Well today more washing and then off to see Sebastian. He will be one year old tomorrow. He is really bonny and a delight for us all. On saturday he is having a naming ceremony and first birthday party. Lots of our family and many friends will be together to celebrate. He now has a live in Spanish au-pair and our daughter goes back to work mid-February. I think he will be OK.
Hope everyone is well.
Really glad to read that Jean is doing so well. Take care.

Morning Folks,
Dark and miserable here this morning. The wind is still fairly strong but has gone down a bit. Yesterday on the Cairngorm Mountain the wind reached 135 MPH. That's what you call a strong blow. :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P
I'm struggling to keep Lady Stephens surprise trip to the Tartra Mountains secret. The Airline Tickets to Poland are being held by my daughter. She wont spill the beans.
She keeps wondering why I've asked her not to make any commitments for the first week in April.......I've told her we may go away with our daughter to Elgin, we did that last year. Fingers crossed my deception will be safe ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Managed to sort things out for my niece yesterday. It took a bit longer than expected but got there in the end. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Today I think I may clear some paperwork. It's not long in gathering. I like it filed away once I've attended to it.
Yvonne should be getting back to normal now :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Maddie hasn't been around for ages, neither has Shelly or Mo. They can't be snowed in now......perhaps flooded out might be the case. :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S
Have a good day ya all !
Keep well , keep safe , keep smiling :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Hello, hope everyone is ok, another day without any posts.
Stephen I was on here early this morning putting 3 birthdays on the Birthday thread, but it looks as though that thread will be finishing, I put a thread on last week asking for February dates but so far no answers. Dont think the GR chat is going very well at the moment, a lot of the names I used to see when I joined have disappeared, think maybe the new owners have spoiled the site. I hope you have had a good day with your niece.
Hope all the friendlies have a peaceful night, Take care and stay safe. Jean xx :-) :-)

A Wee Chuckle for the day
A man takes his place in the theatre, but his seat is too far from the stage. He whispers to the Usher, "This is a Who Done It Murder Mystery'', and I'd like to watch it close up'' . '' Get me a better seat, and I'll give you a handsome tip." The Usher moves him into the second row, and the man hands the Usher a 50p.
The Usher looks at the 50p, leans over and whispers,.......... "The wife did it."

Good afternoon everyone I am back and hope that I have brought some warmth we me. I think Marilyn must still be away. I think she popped in on Antigua? Well I am back after 12 days in Barbados, but I didn't see Marilyn. I was hot and mainly dry over there. We missed the snow, thank goodness as it came down the day after we left.
Will be back later trying to stay awake as I am all out of sequence. It is 4 hours behind over there. Oh and it was about 30C + so need to re-aclimatise too.

A Wee Chuckle for the day
Bob stood over his tee shot for what seemed an eternity.
He waggled, looked up, looked down, waggled again, but didn't start his back swing.
Finally his exasperated partner asked, "what the hell is taking so long?"
"My wife is up there watching me from the clubhouse," Bob explained.
"I want to make a perfect shot."
"Good lord!" his companion exclaimed. ........
"You don't have a snowball's chance in hell of hitting her from here."

Liz , That must be awful for you. I suppose after a time you manage to adjust your bodyclock but even then it must be hard going..

Oh dear, looks like everyone was busy yesterday, hope you are all ok.
Thank you Marilyn and Liz. have been through this several times since 1973, but it keeps returning, maybe this time will be lucky.
We had some sun yesterday, only for a few hours, but it was nice to go out into the garden and see the spring bulbs coming through.
(_)? (_)? (_)? (_)? (_)? (_)? tea or coffee and toasted bagels, help yourselves.
Well I best get something done before Scarlett wakes up, then we will be off to see to the horses.
Hope you all have a good day, take care and stay safe and warm. Jean xx :-) :-) :-)

Morning Stephen, you obviously haven't cottoned on to the fact that at this time I am usually off to bed despite being in the uk. I have chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia and my sleep pattern has gone topsyturvey. I was always a night owl even when little, but it's now even madder and I sleep during the day usually getting up between 2pm and 4pm.
Our snow in Norwich washed away over Saturday night with all the rain we had so hoping it will stay dry now to let the sodden fields and lawns dry out. Thank heavens we are not near rivers here, so many are high and flooding places.
Take care everyone, stay warm and dry and safe
Lizxx
Oh almost forgot, great news Jean, take care of yourself and hope all the check ups are clear now.xx

A Wee Chuckle for the day
For his entire working life, a dedicated and hardworking Astrophysicist tried in all earnest to find the existence of other being somewhere in the universe.
After 58 years of constant effort, he finally receives a response from a planet 30 billion light years away.
“What is your planet like?” groaned the extraterrestrial from the other side of the Galaxy.
“It is 12,756 Kilometers in diameter, is 93,000,000 miles from the nearest star, our sun, has an average temperature of 72 degrees F. We breathe oxygen, live about 75 years, and have both men and women” answered the Physicist.
“Do the men get along with the women on your planet?” the extraterrestrial asked slowly.
Puzzled by the question, but not wanting to insult the female Physicists near by, he answered “Why yes. We get along quite well here.”
The extraterrestrial perked up .............. “Can we send you ours?”

Morning Folks,
Blowing a bit strong this morning :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P and to get even stronger..
Marilyn, I love to travel but I like it even better when I'm heading home. Don't know if it's an age thing or just me that can't be bothered but the thought of living out of a suitcase for a month or more does my head in. We were always 'free' travellers. Doing our own thing and going where we fancied. Took the plane to whatever country we wished to visit, hired a car , and then took off Sometimes we even bought camping gear and went Nomad style. That way we met local folk in their own environment. and had great experiences. Not everyones cup of tea but we loved it. My dear Lady Stephen still thinks a 'Four Poster Bed' is four poles with a tarpaulin strung across the top. That's the nearest she ever got to one . ROFL
Had a great day at the Castle yesterday. Loads of activities and a lot of History and Education thrown in for good measure. My wee lassies loved it......so did I. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
My daughters Burns Supper raised nearly £3,000 for Brain Cancer Research. She's chuffed to bits.
Off to the Care Home again today to visit our relative , John , who is now in care permanently. His family are slowly adjusting to the fact that he will no longer be at home. :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(
Have a good day ya all !
Keep well , keep safe , keep smiling :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
