What a glorious day was yesterday. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

The evenings are stretching out now, what a difference. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

I've still go my Snow shovels at the ready though, I keep them at the rear door of the house. One year I had them in my shed. we had a blizzard overnight and then everything froze solid......I couldn't get the shed open.....a lesson learned.

The near hills still have a fair covering of snow and the more distant ones, 20 miles away, are really well covered. Winter is not over. :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P

It has been cold here today, but at least it has been dry, spent a few hours at the stables.

Off today to a property that a niece has bought. It's a listed building within a consevation area. She needs advice on repairs and development work.

The snow has gone as quickly as it came. Temperature is well up but the Wind Chill from the North makes it feel very cold.. Lovely and bright this morning. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Went to a Property Auction yesterday. It really brought home how many people are losing their homes due to repossesion. Sad. :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

I went along to see how much a friends property would be sold for. Her business went bust about a year ago. The property was part of her business.
It was valued at £450,000...........it sold for £200,000. Someone got a bargain.

Trust all are well on the Friendly.

Hello everyone, wakened up to snow this morning and it snowed on and off all day but it has cleared now, but more is forecast for tomorrow. Lots of roads closed today.
Pauline thanks for all the emails, hope you are ok love.
I do hope that the lack of posts on here doesn't mean that some of our friends are poorly.
Soon be Spring, my Iris and daffodil bulbs are now showing, about 3 inches high. yesterday I bought some well grown Polyanthus plants, already in flower, so I hope to get them in my tubs this week, add a bit of colour.
Think I will make a cuppa and go to bed, been a long day.

Beautiful day here so far. I know others are suffering yet again, so I feel for them.

Have to go to London today, will try to see my Mum, even though we only saw her Saturday. But mainly to see my brother as he wasn't well enough to come to the family party. Still in pain and not sleeping well. He sees his consultant on Thursday. I am wondering if his body is still adjusting to all the trauma. The heart attack, then cold turkey giving up smoking and then the actual heart by-pass. It's a lot for anyone to go through.

I've not been able to Post for a couple of days.

My Membership ran out.

GR had promised me an extra month 'free' but they didn't action this until I sent an email. And as it was the weekend nothing happened until today.

I'll be back to normal service tomorrow.

Afternoon everyone
Lonely thread at the moment.
We went back to the gym this morning that was hard after about 3 weeks of just walking !!
Then I have just come in from an hour and a half of gardening. Bit blowey but warm enough. Tidied up some of the herbacious plants that should have been done in the Autumn but never got round to it. The dustmen collect garden recycling tomorrow so good job done for now, the bin is full.

Linda, it sounds as though you had a lovely day for Sebastian's Naming and Fiest birthday, Great to have so many generations all together on such a special day.

Weekend nearly over, start of the first week of February, where did January go?
Is it only as you get older that the days seem to pass so quickly?

Morning Everyone
Well we had a fabulous day yesterday at Sebastian's Naming Ceremony and First Birthday Party. It was lovely to get the family altogether for such a happy occaision and to see Our daughter with all her friends around them. The ceremony was conducted by a Humanist and was great. The food was good. A little celebration champagne and the Hotel was so well organised too. Everything flowed too. My Mum was better than she had been for quite a while, although she couldn't remember some people or events. But she meade it and hubby's Dad was there too. So both Great Grandparents which is lovely. Another relative aged 92 came too, so all generations well represented. They had a photographer most of the day so even though Sebastian won't remeber his very special day there will be plenty of memories to show him when he is old enough.

Off to pop in on our son soon.
