Hi everyone It's OK here this morning Dog walking duties done. Hubby out now for 2nd time today. Babysitting tonight, getting a meal as thanks.
Good deed done too. Advertised some videos free to a good home, a pre-school has taken some & then a lady came from an after school club and taken the others. Yippee de-cluttering has begun, much to hubby's joy.
Enjoy the afternoon

Morning friendlies, hope you are all well.
We have snow here this morning, started early and is still coming down. No doubt we will be building a snowman later, the joys of being a grandparent, lol.
Marilyn is missing all the snow, dont think she will be too bothered though.
(_)? (_)? (_)? (_)? tea or coffee anyone,
To anyone who has to go out today take care and stay safe. Jean xx :-) :-) :-)

A Wee Chuckle for the day
A bent-over old lady hobbled into a doctor's office.
Within minutes, she came out again but miraculously, she was standing up as straight as could be.
A man in the waiting room who had been watching her said in amazement;
"My goodness, what did the doctor do to you?"
The old lady replied, "He gave me a longer cane!" :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Morning Folks,
SNOW.......has arrived again. Having a quick coffee then off out to start with the Snow Shovel :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P
Jean......make-over coming along nicely. Mrs Stephen is a dab hand with a saw, hammer and chisel, I could sit all day and watch her work. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) On second thoughts I think I'll let her be the Project Manager and the Catering Supplies Officer. ROFL.
Daughter and her family are heading off up North for a few days to the Cottage. I hope the weather clears a bit for them although they will probably have the sledges and skis with them to have some fun..
I'm still managing to keep our trip to the Tatra Mountains a secrect from Mrs Stephen. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Have a good day ya all !
Keep well , keep safe , keep smiling :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Hello everyone, hope you are all ok and managing to keep warm. No snow here today, but very cold and damp, snow forcast for tomorrow.
Looks like it has been very quiet on here again today, though a couple of other threads on Gen. chat seem to have got rather heated, dont understand why people have to get so nasty on some threads, I find it rather off-putting to see people being unpleasant to others
How is the make-over going Stephen, keeping you busy??
Yvonne how is Ami now, are you able to take her out?
Will wish you all Good night, God bless, hope you sleep well. Jean xx :-) :-) :-)

Morning Folks,
Cold but no frost here. Flat calm. Sure sign of a strong wind that no doubt will arrive in the next couple of days. :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(
Had a grand time with our Birthday Girl yesterday. She loves swimming and has a nice style in the water........perhaps an Olympian in the making. A lovely tea and a BIG bit of Birthday Cake ........just the job. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Marilyn , What a terrible time for the parents of that lad. Thank goodness he turned up. We 'lost' our son on a beach when he was very young. He had wandered off following a Donkey along the Beach. I'll never forget the terrible feeling I had when we realised he was gone. Found him 10 mins later.....it seemed like an eterninty.
Sad news about the Pope resigning, but what the heck , who wants to still be working at his age eh ! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Today I start work on my '60 minute makeover' . That should take me about a year to complete ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Have a good day ya all !
Keep well , keep safe , keep smiling :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Yvonne, we do celebrate Valentines day, even though we show each other our love on a daily basis. We just make the day special, as it was the time I left the U.K, to go to Germany for our wedding on February the 29th, so it does mean something to us, being the start of our lives together. And here we are nearly 49 years later, just as loving as we were at the beggining.
Just thought I would pop in and say hello, as we are on our way to our grandaughters now, for Roly to sort out her oven. Bye folks. Mo

Morning all Just back from walking the spaniel. Maybe I should say paddling with him. It is so wet out there. We had light snow overnight, settled on the cars, but not paths or roads. Still trying now but quite warm and very wet underfoot. We walk round a local lake and I have never seen it so wet round there. Hubby has a heavy cold so we won't be going out to dinner at friends, don't want to pass it on. Not sure if our dil is risking the drive? It was on the weather that High Wycombe(north of us) on the edge of the Chilterns had a heavy fall in the night.
Wrap up and keep warm everyone
Must do ironing today, ugh. At least I will keep warm.

A Wee Chuckle for the day
Three vampires walk into a bar. The first one says, "I'll have a pint of blood."
The second one says, "I'll have one, too."
The third one says, "I'll have a pint of plasma."
The bartender says, "So, that'll be two Bloods and a Blood Lite?"

Morning Folks,
A bit damp and dark this morning. :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P
The Avatar is my Granddaughter, Eilidh , who is celebrating her 9th Birthday today. Seems like only a few months since she was born. We are all going swimming today.......that's what she wanted to do, then a wee Birthday party at home.
Mo, Yep ! That was me on the Ice. Taken about 25 years ago when I was still fit and daft enough to be doing that kind of stuff. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) I'm still daft......but not so fit now ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
I have committed myself to reshape our bedroom and upstairs hallway this week. Needless to say what seems straight forward will no doubt grow into a mammoth undertaking :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 Especially if I let Lady Stephen get near it. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Have a good day ya all !

Linda, my son wasnt in those competitions. He just does that sort of thing for 'fun'. He is away at present touring down to Wellington and back.
I got to Raglan ok yesterday, but misunderstood where the club were meeting up, but I took a lot of photos, particularly of the (mostly) young people jumping off the footbridge which goes across the tidal estuary to the camping ground. Lots of splashes. More photos to put on my FB page.

OH MY WORD,!!!! is that really you doing that climb Stephen? Or are you pulling my leg.....that wouldn't surprise me, but knowing what an exciting life you have led, then it wouldn't really shock me. Isn't it great when family members turn up enexpectedly. In our case, they turn up when we have just got our coats on to go out, and have to take them off again, and put the kettle on for a cuppa. The excuse for the visit is normally,"We thought we would just pop in, after doing our shopping, but we can't stay long as we have got frozen food in the boot" I think they are trying to tell us something ;-)that we are boring or something like that. lol But I love to see them regardless.
Night god bless all. Mo

Hope your son is OK Huia. Mountains and bikes not a good combo. How is Phil? Hope you were able to see him recently.
Stephen, Marilyn is still sunning herself and warming her bones in Florida. Not sure when she is back.
Well son, his wife and Joshua have just left after a tasty Roast Beef dinner. I had jacket potato and no Yorkshire pudding. For dessert I had fresh fruit, creme fraiche and merangue, not the Millionaires chocolate cheesecake I bought for the others. Spaniel is settled at hubby's feet. Hope he doesn't pine at not seeing them. Though our son will pop in after work to keep in touch.
Have a nice rest of the evening.
