Pat, I wondered what you meant by 'waling' around Edinburgh, then Rita mentioned walking and I realised you just had a lazy finger.
Shelley, I am still trying to work out your avatar. Is is really your sit-upon?

I cannot beleive you have been to Scotland in such a short time ? five days ? you must be shattered with all that journey and walking. Pat.
George glad it has all gone well for you, as you say you save alot of money by doing things yourself. if you can ? . your be all ready water tight before the winter sets in.
Stephen Mc Barr your need to pin that kilt of your down if the weather gets too windy.
I have been watching "Strickly come dancing " followed by " Merlin " then I made a cup of Horlicks had that and a biscuit.
I shall have an early night tonight.

Evening everyone, I'm back from my Scottish jaunt :-) Stephen I thought of you when we went past Stirling castle ;-) I saw that bull. I must admit I didn't go wandering around. I went round Loch Lomond. I went to Luss. I did the Famous Grouse Experience. I waled round Edinburgh yesterday. It was an early start this morning and once I've unpacked I'm going to bed! The food was lovely and I must say that this was one of the best organised holidays I've ever been on. I saw lots of mountains with mist over them. Luckily I didn't see any snow. One thing though it's colder up north. We had a break at Gretna Green going up and I put my gloves on! It's definitley warmer down south.

Afternoon all !
George.....Great stuff. A smashing feeling when a job starts coming together. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Rita.....Hope you've not been climbing any ladders today ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Did a winter service on one of the cars today. It also needed new brake pads.I quite enjoy doing those kind of jobs especially when I know that as I have worked on the car before I wont find Nuts and Bolts seized solid with rust. I always make sure that when i take things off that before I put them back I add a little grease to prevent them seizing. So job done and dusted. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Evening all,
Rita, LOL, I am one of those men who know how to use a washing machine.....LOL. unlike the old boy who takes his to the laundry.....
I did well today, finished all the framing, so tomorrow only have to face it and felt the roof to make it watertight. In the week if the weather is good I will paint it and insulate it as well. Saved a whole bunch of money building it from scratch :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
Stephen, are you sure his name wasn't Tom of the peeping kind :-D :-D :-D :-D Hi Linda and Pauline.
George :-) :-)

Stephen you have some of your family habits with telescopes etc etc.
I do like a man in in uniform.
George if you get your clean clothes out I will scrub your overalls for you, after all that painting you have been doing. you cannot go to the pub in dirty overalls. and dont walk that mud through the house when your building you shed. lol
I watched Captain Hornblower this afternoon, you will not beleive this I am sure. I got married in 1951 the year that film came out . and we were in Ramsgate on a weeks holiday it was pouring of rain so we went into the cinema and that was what we saw.
brought back all those memories.
Rita.

Hello All,
This is my Gr.Gr.Gr.Gr.Gr. Grandfather Rob Roy McBarr.
He was famous for telling Tall Tales. ROFL :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
Seemingly the defective Gene has remained in the family. :-| :-| :-| :-| :-| :-|
But it obviously missed me out ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
He had a great passion for climbing trees and using a telescope. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
I think that gene might have been passed on :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

One of my cousins used to do that with the CB radio Rita, he was really in to it.
Linda, that's typical, if it saves money they'll do it that way. I think you should stick to your guns and insist they both need nursing care. If they decided later that one of them really needed nursing care, it would mean they would end up in different homes. It would be much better to fight for it now and get them both into the same place. I hope you get it sorted.

Thank you Pauline. it seems strange but my mind kept going back to the mid 1970's this morning we had CB radio's ( Idont suppose many have heard of them or used them ?)
But we had Handles (Nicknames ) mine was fruit cake. not because I was unstable but I baked lots of wedding cakes. my husband was named Big Apple and one of my sons was Scarecrow (see how we were in those days) I had my CB t all set up in my kitchen and I was on standby if someone asked for a certain place they wanted to get too you gave them directions. you might give out 10.42 Traffic Accident on the Hanger Lane Round about.. I must have been mad. Breaker Breaker ment Any Taker. ?(someone to talk too. ) Or you would hear Smokey bear in brown wrapper meaning police car unmarked. It all came back to me this morning when I was thinking of my husband it was a hobby and he loved it. . I have been to the shops and paid my paper bill I am now going to get some dinner ready. not sure what I want.? Rita

Morning all Just playing a waiting game now with my parents, seeing if their social worker will agree , as she originally did, with their care mananger !!! She is only at work on Monday then away for 2-3 weeks. Clever eh. The care manager said they both need nursing homes with care and dementia care too for Mum. But the socail woker now says they only need a residential home (as it's cheaper), but Mum is in a residential home now and they have to have nurses come in 2 to 3 times a day to test her sugar levels and giove her the right dose of insulin !! Try to work that one out eh?
Nice Indian meal last night with friends.
Today going to stay at friends after they have cooked us a meal, so hubby can enjoy more than one glass of wine with his meal.
Tomorrow is a 40th celebration meal out again.
Monday is our dil birthday with a chinese at home, I am telling her she has to cook it herself as we have bought her a wok LOL
I'll check in with any updates as soon as I can. Thank you all for your kind wishes for my parents .
I hope everyone is well and enjoying the pleasant weather
Linda :-)

Hi all.
Yesterday I was busy looking for houses for my cousin because he's sold his house in France and he's coming home....... after 30 years. He doesn't even know what the areas are like now so I had to write a list of nice areas and what houses were available.
A sad day for you Rita but I know you'll have lots of good memories of John.
Cath, that's awful about your granddaughter. Poor little soul must have been in terrible pain. I'd be really annoyed about the first doctor as well, just as well the tumour was benign. I hope they do something to stop it from getting any worse. :-|
Stephen, I don't like that avatar, it's horrible........... the little green man was better.
LOL at Shelly's avatar.
