Evening all, Linda I'm glad there was a good turnout for your Dad. I expect you will feel a lot better when your Mum is settled in a home with round the clock care. You will surely deserve a few days away to gather your thoughts and relax a bit. Mo I hope Roly soon feels well and fingers crossed the antibiotics do their job. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ to Marilyn. Been pouring down all day but there are still fireworks going off and the dog is under the table lying on my feet :-( <3 <3 <3 and hugs for all my lovely friends :-D

Hi Linda I think this is the worse part when we bury our loved one, till then your livimg a part life waiting for something to happen . it is afterwards you feel a relief that things went well . but as my doctor in Norfolk told me. it is the ones left behind that need that little extra care. He gave me a cuddle and said I am always there for you so phone anytime day or night. Knowing someone was there for me. made a lot of difference and I am sure your Mum will feel that. once she is settle in the home and has people to talk too it will help her.
Maddie your lucky to have a dog that is not frightened of fireworks .all the dogs I have had, have been scared one use to stand and shiver he could not even walk he was that frightened..another would do nothing but walk up and down in the room making little wimpering noises.till the fireworks stopped.
Jean glad to see your still making breakfast. lol
take care everyone.

You know rainbows are magical dont you Linda.
They have no beginning and they have no end. Just like the love you have for your Mum and Dad. There is no end to it.
When your dear Mum is settled, then life will have some kind of order to it.
Try and sleep tonight Linda, a day like today takes its toll, but tomorrow will seem clearer.
Take care. <3

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and wishes. I am sure you all helped me get through. There were a lot of people there, maybe over 70, at a guess. Family, friends, clents and neighbours. Some including an elderly cousin aged 88 had come up from Hastings !! The service was very nice and all the words I wrote were said. My youngest nephew made a little speach about him too and how he did it I don't know, but he held it together right til the last few words. Mum seems to have accepted his passing and although quiet managed very well. The pub put on a good spread and a few drinks were quaffed in his honour. The collage of pictures was looked at by most of the people there too.
Now I just need to ensure that Mum is safe in a new home. Then I will be happy. The home should be assessing her early next week and SS have said she is entitled to 12 weeks set asside while we try to sort out her affairs.
Oh amazingly on our drive down the M4 towards Breakspear this lunchtime there were so many rainbows in the pouring rain, stretching right across the road from fields to fields and landing on the cars infront of us too. Nobody else seems to have seen them.
Hope everyone has a nice evening and sleeps well too.
Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of our lives and hubbies retirement. Once Mum is settled then maybe we can think about a short break.
Love to all my friends Linda XXX <3 <3 <3

I take full note of what Mo and Rita say about pets and fireworks.
However, when Charlie was a pup, we just ignored the fireworks going off, and now she does the same.
We have walked her on Firework Night, and she sits and watches the sparkles in the sky. We think we did the right thing by her. Mind you she is a bit barmy, and afraid of nothing, not even Pitbulls. lol
Hope Linda is ok, the worse part of the day should be over by now. Always very stressful.
Back later.

Hi everyone I bet the shops are running out of brolleys.with this weather. and wellies.
I hope you all take care with your pets tomorrow night when the fireworks go off. My dog your to go mad he would run around in circles then made for somewhere he could hide. I didnt think about horses as most are out in the open during the day I thought they might get use to bang and noise. having never owned a horse I dont know how they would feel with fireworks going off..
It is alright for Marilyn out there in the heat, while we suffer rain. I think she should bring us all a pressie back when she comes home in 6 weeks time.
Mo glad that they have given you medciation for Roly. Linda I hope things are settling down abit for you now.
take care everyone.

Oooh look friends, theres a sexy witch joining us from the States. I do hope you didn't fly all that way on your broomstick dear girl. You will be very pleased to know that we have got RAIN............. oooh nasty wet stuff, whereas you have probably got sunshine.
Jeni, how do your horses cope when there are fireworks going off all the time. Do you have to give them a sedative to calm them down. Mind you Yvonne is probably in the same positition as you, with her horse. It's such a shame how our pets are affected by the fireworks. My friends dog, was cowering behind her settee last night, shaking with terror.
Oooh while I think about it. Our doctors surgery phoned last night to speak to Roly. They did a urine sample test on him the other day, and it has come back that he has a kidney infection. We were informed that the surgery had taken a prescription to the pharmacy, and we had to collect it this morning. So I must not complain, at least something is happening for the dear old chap now, and he will be taking anti-biotics till they are coming out of his ears bless him.lol
I hope that things are going well for Linda. It's now 3.15 so the worst part should be over for them. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 for Linda.

Oh! dear, hope I haven't killed this thread, where is everyone? Well after a very wet start to the day we now have sunshine. Just got back from seeing to my horses, think the rain has addled their brains, it was pouring down and both the Vanners were standing out in it, only Scarlett's little shetland had the sense to go inside. Time to get some lunch ready, Enjoy your day. Jean xx :-) :-) :-)

Thank you all Look at the weather out there just what I didn't need today.
Went up late last night as I couldn't sleep and was only driven there by the thunder that was rolling around. It has tipped all night.
Please let it be dry around 2:15 this afternoon.
Best Wishes to you all

Bracing myself for tomorrow.
Just back from a celebration meal for my son-in-law's grandmother's 85th birthday. Had a nice time.
Added a thread on General, might help others thinking about the new Family Tree Maker or even just joining Ancestry:
I've just bought FTM 2012, newest release with my Tesco vouchers. Cost me £19 only. You get 6 months membership for Ancestry at Premium, I was already a subscriber and membership due in November, now immediately renewal for May next year. Order placed 27th Oct delivered 2nd November, so really quick service too.
