Linda great news for your Mum. It will be so much easier for the whole family knowing she is safe and sound and getting 24 hour care if needed. I hope she settles in quickly and will be happy there.
OH's blood sugar is up again from 15.9 to 20, he is also waiting for appointment with the diabetic nurse and also one with the heart specialist. I am really worried that it wont come down even with metformin dose doubled.
Grandaughter seeing the orthopaedic surgeon tomorrow morning so we will find out what is happening about the tumour in her finger.
I think I need another holiday :-S

Linda do you mean Hillingdon in Middlesex.? My son lives nearby so does my Granddaughter. she lives a few minutes from the hospital.

It is very hard to get on here I wonder why they are having so much trouble ?it isnt just this thread but others as well. even when I want to go off it takes ages to get off.
I have never know anything like this before all the time I have been a member.? hope they sort it soon or they will lose alot of people.

Good evening everyone, from a very miserable,cold, wet and misty Kent.
The fire has had to go on today, it's been that cold, that I have sat snuggled up by it.

Linda,it's so good to hear that mum is a lot brighter, and that they have finally sorted out a place of residence for her.
You will soon have her room looking homely,and comfortable.
It's so hard having to dispose of clothes that our parents have worn. The memories come flooding back, of when they last wore them.
But now you have to condense a life time of memories onto a smaller place.

Any news on Foggy yet?

Happy Birthday Yvonne for tomorrow, I'm glad someone responsible has a list !!!
Went to see the Dr's dietician this morning. Amazingly my weight has stayed the same(actually dropped less than a pound). My choloestrol is really good at 3.9. But sugar levels are too high at 7.3. I was supposed to speak to the diabetic nurse at noon but she is off sick, so I will have a phone call with my Dr tomorrow at noon. Wish me luck he is bound to nag me about the weight.

This afternoon we went up to Hillingdon. The weather was awful, drizzle or rain the whole time we were out. But it was so worth it. Mum looked really well. She was bright and "with it". Loved a small bear I took up for her, cuddled it the whole time we were there.
After we left we went to see my sister in law and helped her at my parents flat. Took a lot of bags of clothing to The Heart Foundation Charity shop. Then back to hers for a cup of tea. My brother came home and looked very tired.
BUT I had a message when I got back here to say Mum's assessment went well and she should be going to the Care Home tomorrow. Yippee.
Now we can move forwards and help her settle and get her mobile again and more motivated. Which can't happen in hospital. They have so much to do.

Thank you Maddie for that information I have the digital stations and digital aerial all ready working we had it two years ago. we had the ground dug up and cables laid we were one of the first. sometimes it goes wrong and we get static or mosac pattern interfer and we take the aerial out and put it into the old aerial until the man comes and sees to it. then we swing back. to the other aerial so why have we both aerials working.

Hope everyone is well.

Rita, we have both a digital box for our older tv, and a proper Digital tv. When the changeover for London and surrounding areas happen next April. You will lose the analogue signal. All you need to do is retune the digital box. You will see 'Installation' when you press the handset to Menu. Simply scroll down and press the Retune Stations [you will lose existing stations etc.] it will then lock onto the new frequencies.

It is really quite simple. Nothing to it. You will find it a doddle.

Cold and wet here again. I hate this weather.
