Hi Marylin when you said your back ? I thought you meant back in the UK only when I read your remarks it came to me you meant on the thread, silly me.
I wonder where George is and Foggy do you think George is busy with his girl friend. ?
talking about Foggy it has got really bad here.it started coming in again around 4 oclock now with it being black as well. I think your better off indoors at a time like this.

reminds me of the fog we had when I was young we have some real pea soupers then. when I went to work I worked in London just off Oxford street for French company and I travelled on the underground to and from work it was easier than changing buses. it was a night mare when you got off the train at Dollis Hill as it was open fields and the fog was so thick you needed a torche and to feel your way along.and I mean feel you ran your hands a long the brick walls the worse part was when you came to the main road and had to cross over you could see nothing and try and listen for traffic in a fog for some reason it is much harder. I'd take a chance and do a runner scross the road. breath a sigh of relief when I got to the other side I still had two small road to go across before I arrived home.

I'm back !

Shelly.. I bet your son is well pleased with getting that job, good luck to him.

I'm not sending many cards this year as most of my friends have told me not to for fear of them having to send any as its too expensive for them........so I'll e-mail them instead or phone them for my Christmas greetings, I must admit I find I have too many cards and cant find enough space to put them all.It all sounds miserable doesn't it ? but I love Christmas and when I get home first thing I'll do is put my Christmas tree up !!

Decorate my mantle over the log fire place......ohhhh sooooo lovely and Christmassy

:-D

I hope you all have a great weekend........we are having a BQ later today with friends.

Morning everyone.
Its a lovely sunny day but a nip in the air.
I am being a real lazy bones, didn't get up till 9 and still in my P.J's. I was shattered and never get a lie in so thought why not. I had 3 grandchildren for the day yesterday so their mum could do a pre christmas de-clutter of their bedrooms without their assistance ;-) ;-) and they wore me out good and proper. I have all but finished my present shopping, just a few vouchers to get, tonight I am going to write cards. Its not like me to be this organised :-S
Hope all have a good day :-D

Morning Rita
Well I was just going to say that it's "reet mucky out there". Not going for a walk this morning I must say.
Maybe I will tackle the spare bedroom again. I need to clear it for when we have family staying at Christmas. It is full from when I decorated and then all the childminding things, paperwork which has to be kept for at least 6 years for tax and 21 years for any accidents !! Mad hey?
I actually wrote about 30 Christmas cards last night. Well it's a start.

Keep warm and wrapped up.

Morning
all my friends

I am not saying a good morning, why ? because we have a fog well a heavy mist and it looks really miserable. strange how one day we get blue skies and sunshine and the next it is misty. I have to say it is not cold.

I have listed my jobs for today. because I get to the stage I forgot what I intended to do. the next day Am I the only one who does this ? because of my age
I watched Strickly come dancing last night from Wembley it brought back my trips to Wembley. living nearby we were always at Wembley. we went to the Speedway and watched the Wembley Lions. we went to the Ice Hockey and to watch the Harlem Globe Trotters basket ball team. we also went to the shows. The only thing I never did was go to the Football there. I went to Stamford Bridge instead my team Chelsea.
Did you know on a Sunday they use to hold a Market Stall at Wembley it ran along the outside and was large one, you could buy anything from there.
Happy days

Hope you all have a good sunday what ever you do or go to.
Shelley hope your sons find work this coming year..

it's no wonder that there are no jobs for the youngsters. The Government keep on raising the Retirement age :-P

Rita

Rita Report 19 Nov 2011 16:20

Shelley
If this Government used their brains, they would not have such along line of people without jobs. all they have to do is let the people who have worked hard all their lives retire and the young people can be trained to take their places. It would save alot of money as well. I get really angry when I see all these young people with no work many try so hard for jobs how can they get work if there is nothing out there for them.?
It must be sole distroying for them

have a good evening everyone. I am looking forward to strickly Dancing tonight coming from Wembley and then Merlin.

I need the rest tramped all over the town this morning getting cards and some presents.

Oh my god Shelly, this is not the son that had the C*ndom sale is it. No wonder his girlfriend is pregnant if it is him. lol ;-)

Sorry to hear that you have been under the weather Pat, but things can only get better now.

Linda it is hard disposing of things that have meant a lot to our parents, but stay strong my friend, and you will get there in the end.

Enjoy your company Pauline, and give the new baby a special hug.

Thinking of you Rita, and hoping you are feeling better today.

Hello everyone, hope you had a peaceful night and have a good weekend.
The weather is being kind to us today, quite sunny and very mild.
Chris has taken Scarlett out to see one of his mates and wife and children so I have a couple of hours free, am having a cuppa and watching racing on Ch 4.
Whatever you are doing this weekend take care and stay safe.
Jean xx :-) :-)

Haven't done any more walking yet............ waiting for the blister to go away!!

Jean, I don't know what to say about that lad who shouted at you in court, he sounds like a moron. I hope he goes away for a long time.

Hi everyone,
I had a cold Wednesday. It just started with a sniff and it got worse as the day went on. :-( Better now though! It only lasted a day :-)

On Thursday I was watching the programme about the Queen's cousins.
I'm taking my books back to the library next Saturday and I''ve still got 3 books to read :-0

I've got Monday off. Going to the hygenist in the morning and I'm getting my gas fire checked in the afternoon.

Morning all
Bit grey out there and felt cold in the garage when I put rubbish out.
The meal was very sucessful and our guests left happy. Actually we have enough food left for ourselves for today. So a repeat tonight folks.
I managed to sort a wardrobe yesterday with a bit of success in getting rid of a lot of papers, but find it really hard to get rid of other things kept over the years. I need some help to declutter!!!!
I did get the new laptop, but although I have set up my own internet I need help to transfer all the stuff from my old laptop.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning all
it is a bit sharp out. I didnt think it would be as it is warm in the flat and I have no heating on.

Shelly when the children go to work they do grow up quickly. I wonder why we only notice it more then ? and not while they are at school. ? I see children in school uniforms they are so tall and look as if they are off to work. some smoke and others are made up. even the smaller children dressd up like young ladies with short skirts. how times have changed.
My son told me my granddaughter had a boyfriend she is coming up to 18 and has never bothered with boyfriends before , always had lots of girlfriends but she said I still intend to go on with my career.
good for her I say.

Hope everyone has a good day today, and hope Foggy is on the mend. I know that George is. George you should have gone to Guildford yesterday not in the week as you did the Queen was at the Guildford Cathedral for a special service.
