Afternoon All !

Had an early start this morning. Plastering a ceiling at daughters house. We had taken it down yesterday to replace some ventilation ducting. Managed to get it down , sorted the ducting and replaced the ceiling. A good job done.

Will get the second coat of plaster on tomorrow evening..

Nice to have you back Rita. Good news about your sister. Not as bad as expected .

Pauline....Yep ! It's nice to feel wanted and that people care about you.

Hello Bob, nice to see you on here. I've been walking a lot lately............ I'm hoping to get fit again, because I've been really lazy the last couple of years.

The snow was supposed to stay in the North West of England today but we got it this morning and we live near the East coast. We were sitting listening to the weather forecaster telling us we didn't have snow............. while we were watching the snow out of the window. :-| :-| Thankfully it was only for about 20 minutes............ then the rain washed it away.

Marilyn you will need to wear warm clothing as it gets very cold now. even if the sun is out and it is warm it tends to get cold around 3 in the afternoon and starts to get dark.

Dermot wish for good health that comes before money we could all do with more money but it will not buy good health.

Bob like you my legs dont carry me far without finding a seat to sit down for a while

I dont know about any of you but I am going to have a restful afternoon, I will be reading and watching TV not both together but if nothing on TV it will be reading for me.

we went to Cambridge yesterday to help collect our grandaughter(and her belongings,) after her first term at uni.
went for a walking tour of some of the historic Buildings.....mindblowing!!

wasnt as cold as we thought it was going to be............had a meal in "the Eagle 'Pub'
impressive WW2 ceiling in the restaurant...but my legs now are letting me know, that I am not of the walking kind.!!

I showed my sister this thread and she said the same. I hope your weather is not as it said on TV and they made a mistake. I thought of sending you two tennis Rackets just incase for your feet LOL.

Sorry I cannot hold a big party as I didnt win the Lotto last night (what a shame )

Dermot where is your Christmas spirit if we didnt send cards you would not be working on Royal Mail for Christmas. I have had cards already and some from on line.

Linda who is getting married in your family now ? I have read so far back but not come across the wedding ?

I am disguested with the centre of London I have never seen so many road works going on/ ? boards up whereever you go and no men working the hotels in Park Lane havd scaffold up and netting and as for their Chrstmias decorations they are the worse I have ever seen.

When I got to Waterloo on Saturday they have blue boards up everywhere you walk and the only seats I came across were four hidden out the way. If you buy a coffeee you can get a seat I am wondering why they have done this, the station was full and yet we could not get a seat to sit and wait for whoever collects you.

Goodness knows why we bothered to enter the competition to hold the Games here in England. if we are so short of money and cannot afford seats.for people waiting at the stations.

As I have a seasonal job with Royal Mail, could I please plead with you all to desist from sending Christmas cards this year! It would help my work-load greatly.

Good to see you back Rita, I hope you and your sister are both a bit better today.
I am rushed off my feet. Hubby computer gained a virus so our son fixed it up remotely this morning took ages but he's clear now.
Been shopping for more things for the wedding. Not much more to get now thank goodness. Need to sort some flowers on Monday, I hope.
Off to Windsor tomorrow to see my brother and his family, going to a Spanish restaurant for lunch.

Hello Everyone

I got back late yesterday, but I felt tired. my sister had her tests done and pleased to say she has not got cancer as was suspected but an unlse in her food tube and a hernia
she had gone to the doctors as she had lots of pain when eating food,and was eating pasta as it didnt hurt her to swollow this, he did a blood test then phoned and said she was to see a consultant the next day at The Royal Free so we went, the tests took fours hours but they gave the results right away. they were going to keep her in unless she had someone at home.
she looked very ill I think the worry did that.?
then on Thursday I was ill had that giddy feeling again then falling about. had two nose bleeds so she would not let me come home on my own she came with me and stayed over night. she left at 11 this morning.

I got home to find two bills and three christmas cards as well as two letters one was to tell me an old friend Anglia had died and was cremated in November. I have been invited to the scouts as they are going to errect a memorial plaque to her. she died of cancer .

I have work to catch up on as I left things to get to Hamspstead.in a hurry.

I keep getting the Error message as well, Shelly, I try a few times and then just give up.

I kept on trying when it was George's birthday but it took me ages to get the post to go on. Yesterday I couldn't even get on to read the thread............ wouldn't let me read any of the threads.

Marilyn you'll need to get some very warm clothes to come home in because it's freezing here.

Don't know about the rest of the country but it's very frosty here and bitter cold.

Mo, thank you for the card........... you're very organized, I haven't even took my cards out of the box yet............ don't even know where I put the boxes.
