George,

Reading......I was Best man at a Wedding in Reading way back in 1968.

A fairly 'Posh' do ....... I found so many of the guests a real pain in the a***.

The weather is not as bad as last year at this time. The forecast is for a real hard frost tonight. Skates on the car tomorrow. Might as well have a sleigh .

I've had my tea, a grand plate of Mince and Potatoes washed down with a chilled glass of Irn-Bru. Only 2,000,000 million calories the lot. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Time to relax now.....I've had a productive day :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Back later.

BREAKING NEWS.

A Storm Front is gathering in Florida......it's due to arrive in GB around the middle of next week , better batten down the hatches
As usual the Storm has been given a name,
Hurricane Marilyn ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Still Sarah enjoyed herself :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Rita, hope all went well with your check up.
Stephen, It's a blinking joke trying to get on here sometimes, you think by now they would be able to fix it :-0 :-0 :-0

Right - I'm off out for a long walk, rain or no rain.

Eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns.
Toast or hot rolls.
Tea or coffee.

Evening All.

Gordon Bennett. Do people know it is the end of the world or something? They have been shopping fit to drop. So much for the recession. We haven't seen it.

My eye is starting to clear already. So the asprin must be making it bleach faster than normal. I think I will be back to my usual gorgeousness by the week-end. ;-)

Hope everyone is keeping warm, its chilly out there.

Hello George hope you got your christmas shopping done.?

I went to post some cards some needed to go abroad, the Post Office is in the paper shop at the back of the shop. I dont ever remember seeing a queue like it ? it streghted the length of the shop and around another counter to the main door. people were coming in seeing the queue and going . I had to wait because the cards that were for the overseas needed to be sent.;one man was very rude to the staff and said he wasa writing to head office about the queue (as if they would care. ?)
We put the cards into a sack in the shop for collecting, but they asked that we put them in the normal letter box outside. try and put 20 cards into a letterbox that was already full. you spend ages pushing them in to find half come out again.one man said never mind the Postman comes to collect them at 12 oclock it was 11 oclock at the time so I hope my cards get to their destination.
?
It had been sleeting when I went out .so it was slippery along the shop walkway. so you had to walk slowly. I dont think I will be going out much this week. blood test tomorrow but the rest of the week I hope I can stay in.?

Afternoon everyone
Well busy so far this morning
Gym first thing with hubby, he's a slave driver you know LOL
Then to Tesco's as we have our eldest here for dinner tonight. And friends on Wednesday too. We have fish pie tonight and Turkey on Weds. We are having Beef on Christmas Day so thought we'd have turkey now. Got other bits towards Christmas too.
Then into the post office, big queues already. Posted my calendars to Canada and Australia, some foreign cards too and all the "fat" cards with large stamps too. Bought the other stamps, now stuck on will go to the post box tomorrow with them. "Costa fortune"

Have a nice afternoon everyone

Oh Cath, how did you manage to keep your thoughts to yourself?
maybe shopping for the lights was too much for her.

We have a very watery son at the moment, but the snow has mostly gone now, but more is forecast.

Keep warm everyone and take care if you go out.

OH has been to the diabetic clinic this morning, he's lost 8 kilos and that has taken just 4 weeks. Amazing how cutting out biscuits, cakes and crisps can help, LOL. ;-)
Mum finally got her fairy lights, not too bright, not all white, not too big or too small, and not too expensive and NOW............Wait for it ............................................................................... doesn't know if she'll bother putting the tree up :-S :-S :-S I didn't say a word (adjusts halo) but thought plenty. :-D

LindainBerkshire1736004 Report 4 Dec 2011 21:39

hello everyone
We are OK here Mum seems to be settling into the residential home and has some of her own things around her to remind her of home, which is nice. I spoke to a couple of the ladies and they seemed pleasant and liked the home for their own needs.
I have been busy preparing for a small wedding reception at home for our eldest daughter and also for Christmas too. So quite busy.
We helped our youngest over the last couple of weeks to gloss paint her hall, doors windows skirting etc, but also her Kitchen , bathroom and lounge doors inside too. Must be mad though she did need the help and was very greatful.
So we decided to employ a decorator to do our lounge next week just before the wedding. I hope he gets it finished and doesn't hit any snags. !!!
Today we have been into Windsor with my youngest brother and his family, we had a Tapas Christmas meal, very nice and good service most enjoyable. Then a good walk round. I got another Christmas gift so that was helpful. Then we went back to their house to chat. A really nice afternoon/evening.

Rita I hope you are feeling better
Maddie don't do too much, your eye must be sore
Bob welcome to the thread
Marilyn you will soon be home, please keep warm the change in temperature could be really noticeable to you.
Yvonne did you find your cards?

Pauline yes I have got my outfit sorted, nothing too fancy, for a registry office. And I am being thrifty as I am able to wear a jacket, shoes, handbag and possbly the fascinator(if it's not ott) from my son's wedding 5 years ago. I have a new skirt and top but definately wearable again for meals out, or holiday evening events in the future.

Have a good week everyone
