Morning everyone, I couldn't get on GR from my computer at work. I'm been busy what with Gym and writing cards and wrapping some pressies.
Marilyn, I'm glad you're back safely.
Stephen I hope your electricity didn't get cut off.
A couple who I met when I went up toScotland are going again on Thursday. They're going to Fort William. Have a nice day x

Morning all.
I've got my washer on as well Cath, don't think we'll get rain today.
Sounds like your daughter's business is doing really well Stephen, has she had any bookings for the castle yet?
Don't know why I try to put all the names on a post - I always miss someone off........... just noticed that I missed Linda and Dermot (probably more) off my last post.
Linda, I didn't see anything about the fire on the news, hope no one was hurt. Sounds like a good idea for a hen party, you'll all be able to lie back and relax while being pampered. I didn't know you were having an eye problem............. that's what I get for only going 2 pages back to read the posts.
Shelly, it's the BSL that has regional accents, don't know why because we all get the same books to learn from............... I think!! Little legs might catch up with his talking by practicing his signs........ if he says the word out loud as he signs it.
George, I had a look on the map to see where you live................ it's a looooong way from where I live. I think our Marilyn is the only one on here that lives further down the country than you. Your weather is always going to be a few degrees Celsius warmer than mine.
Everything's white with frost today, but we haven't got snow yet................ so not as bad as where Stephen lives.
Rita, it's a shame that your estate manager can't tell you about people dying.......... maybe she should ask the family if it's OK to tell people. I'm sure the families would want the rest of you to know about their relative passing over.

Morning All !
Linda, hope all goes well with your eye results. Your house must be in turmoil just now with all that is going on !!!!!!!! ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
A lovely carpeting of snow this morning. So my gardens look as good as any National Trust one. :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P
Busy day ahead , my daughter needs her wee dad just now . She works so hard at everything she does and if I can ease the burden a bit I do so. I know she appreciates everything I do and that is enough for me :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) She moved into her new Office this week. Her Business has outgrown working from home.
Have a good day ya all !
Keep well , keep safe , keep smiling :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Morning all Shelly Ringwood is on the edge of the New Forest, it is a lovely market town. I have been there many times. I also go to Winchester a lot too, maybe I have bumped into George without knowing it !! LOL. There was a big fire at the hospital last night on the news. Haven't seen TV yet this morning so not sure how things are. Had a nice meal with some neighbours last night. Today I am off to a spa evening, for my daughters "hen party", I am having a massage, hopefully to relax a bit. I had the eye scan yesterday at the Drs. Boy do the drops sting, but not too bad after. It is 4 weeks before the results to me and my Dr. Not on meds yet for diabetes, but have to watch my diet and continue exercising. Heavy frost here this morning so no walk yet !! The decorator has been here for 2 days now and the room is prepared, lining paper to hang today and matbe paint the ceiling. Hoping it is finished early next week for the gathering on Friday.
Have a lovely weekend all.
Thanks for the card Rita it came yesterday. Sadly I can't put up any Christmas decorations yet until the room is finished 'cos everything is in the dining room and hall !!!LOL

Hi Pauline,
I live near Winchester in Hampshire, down south. I'm not a million miles from Rita, she is just a short way down the motorway, about 20 miles or so.

I was looking at the news and every time I see the sailors of H M S Ocean I burst out laughing. I think that is so funny. last year it was some of the troops out in Afganistan. next year the RAF will have to have a go.
I heard today that one of my neighbours passed away on wednesday in hospital he had only lived here for 18 months, moved here as one of his sons is in a wheelchair near here he is about 65 (the son ) how sad that is as well being so near to christmas. do you know our Estate manger knew and didnt tell anyone she said she is not allowed to pass information about any of the residence in these flats. I said they are not strangers to us but part of our community. and we should be informed.
we have a calm night here, chilly but I not extra cold. infact my heating is not on yet.
hope you all have a good evening and good night. keep warm and keep smiling.

Evening everyone.
George, where do you live? It always sounds as if you have good weather. It's bitter cold here, too cold to go out.
The wind last night was 85 mph.......... so we didn't have it as bad as Stephen. It must have been frightening where you were Stephen.
Foggy, if you're reading this I hope you're feeling a bit better now. Don't try to do too much.
Mo, how's Roly? It's about time the hospital found out what's causing his pains. I hope they get it sorted soon.
Marilyn, I got my tree up today as well, it looks very pretty, twinkling away. I'm always worried that the lights will die before Christmas day though.
Cath, that's a lovely avatar, I'll have a look at Jules' thread later.
Hope you enjoyed your fish and chips Rita, I could just eat them now.
Shelly, did you know that sign language is like regional accents? The signs differ depending where you live. Most people can still understand what is being signed though............ just like most people can understand different accents.
Hope the eye is OK now Maddie.
I've only gone back 2 pages but can't see posts from Jean, Pat or Yvonne........... hope everyone is OK.
<3 :-) <3 :-) <3

A WEE CHUCKLE FOR THE EVENING
THE TALKING CENTIPEDE
A single guy decided life would be much more fun if he got himself a pet.
So he went to the pet store and told the owner that he wanted to buy an unusual pet.
After some discussion, he finally bought a 'talking centipede'....... a 100-legged bug, which came in a little white box to use as a house.
He took the box back home, found a good spot for the box, and decided he would start off by taking his new pet to church with him.
So he asked the centipede in the box, "Would you like to go to church with me today? We will have a good time."
But there was no answer from his new pet. This bothered him a bit, but he waited a few minutes and then asked again, "How about going to church with me today to receive blessings?"
But again, there was no answer from his new friend and pet. So he waited a few minutes more, thinking about the situation.
The guy decided to invite the centipede one last time.
This time he put his face up against the centipede's house and shouted, "Hey, in there! Would you like to go to church with me and learn about God?"
' Don't shout at me! ', a little voice came out of the box, "I HEARD YOU THE FIRST TIME !...............
'I'M PUTTING MY SHOES ON'
That one comes compliments of Marilyn -) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Morning all you lovely people. we have sunshine this morning. last night we had a wind it blew the bird table over and the bird house and bent the trees in half but it seems to have died down now.
Stephen it must have been a nightmare up where you are last night. I dont know how they got on in Bervie ? I have not heard from Lizzie I did get two Christmas cards from Bervie on Monday. I expect my sister in Law will tell me later. I have just emailed to my dentist to ask for an appointment about my dentures. so I will wait and see what day she gives me.
My friend is getting me some fish and chips for dinner today. so I dont have to do any cooking.
see you later.

Morning All !
I survived Hurricane Bawbag !
Yep ! That's the name the Scots have given that wind that tried it's hardest to batter us yesterday. :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P
165 mph on the summit of Cairngorm. Only 8 mph short of the highest wind recorded so far.
As a child when a storm was blowing my Mum would ask that we prayed for the sailors at sea. All her brothers were seamen. I never really understood why a special prayer for the sailors until I experienced my first sea storm. It was rather frightening.
As I suspected I have a bit of damage to a fence , apart from that everything else is fine. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Still a lot of roads blocked and homes without power. Blizzards forecast for the North. Ice on the roads this morning.
Heading off to my daughters this morning, a bit of work to do for her.
Have good day ya all !
Keep well , keep safe , keep smiling :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
