Rita, I have just struggled away from the ironing board. Cooo my back is aching. Why do I have to have a OH, who insists on wearing shirts that need ironing. Where have all the drip dry shirts of years ago gone. Oooh they were great for lazy people like me. He always manages to make holes in his trouser pockets as well. Noooo please no rude responses to that. It's not as if he has his lose change rattling around in his pocket, he uses a mans small purse for that, so how the eck does he do it. I am forever making do and mending them. I remember when you could buy pockets to replace them, but there is nowhere local to get them anymore.
Doing a curry for dinner, I blame Pat for that, reading her about her having curry for her dinner yesterday. Bye for now peeps.

Where have you all gone too?. taken a trip to Santa.s Gotto ?or gone to see the lights ? where ever you are I hope your nice and warm ?
I was speaking to my sister this afternoon, she told me she met someone she knew slightly and they were speaking about Christmas and children., He told her he had 10 children, the eldest 14 years old. she must have looked very surprised, he smiled and said he had two sets of triplets in that lot.. My mind boggles how can they managed all those children ? at Christmas time and think of the cost of Christmas presents.
I am going to enjoy having my 11 Great Grandchildren around me this Christmas and some of my Grandchildren but at least they go home afterwards. lol
I love them to bits.
It is getting colder and our forcaste is. it will be bad tonight and tomorrow.

A bit of advice from times past for us today. A papyrus in the British Museum, known as ‘The Wisdom of Amenmope’ (c.950 B.C.) prepares a student for public office with some admonitions as follows:-
‘Be not greedy for a cubit of land & trespass not on the boundary of the widow. Plough the fields that thou mayest find thy needs & receive thy bread from thine own threshing floor. Better is a bushel which God giveth to thee than five thousand gained by transgression.
Better is poverty in the hand of God than riches in the storehouse. And better are loaves when the heart is joyous than riches in unhappiness.’

Morning all bright here this morning.
Marilyn I love to watch children in their school plays the lttle ones always look so sweet and serious.. it is years since I went to see one of my grandchildren or Great grandchildren in a shool play. when my children were little I use to make the costumes for their school plays
The old gentleman upstairs looks alot better today thank goodness for that. Les one of my other neighbours has been collecting toys for the orphanage in Romania the one he goes to three times a year. he said the children will be over the moon when they get this lot. Poor children it is such a shame.
well I will try and keep smiling Stephen .

Hi All,
Hazel.... we are all silly as well on here, so you are in good silly company .. :-D :-D :-D :-D
Its been too cold to go outside today......so I have done some tidying up ! I cleared out my drinks cabinet in time for Christmas, and found a bottle of Vodka that is 20yrs old, seems no one drinks that any more......also there were all sorts of whisky's that I never knew I had 7 bottles,,my Dad will only drink Teachers so I'll have to pour the other whisky into the empty Teacher Bottle !! LOL well why not he mixes it with Ginger Ale !!
I made a delicious stew today, but Pete said its tastes like curry Stew and complained it was hot ! I had to look at what I put into it as I do over do the ingredients, and sure enough I did put a bit of spicy seasoning in to give it a bit of ump !! it had chillies in it .. LOL
Oh well it warmed him up a bit.....
I'm going to my grand daughters school play to morrow night, she has just rang me to tell me she made a mistake in her part of the play ....aww bless her .I said everyone makes mistakes, so dont worry if you make one tomorrow !
I'm going to make a cuppa now .....back tomorrow sometime .
Night all ~~~~~~~~~~ to everyone
:-D

Hazel you must look lovely dont stand in a field will you lol
It has gotten cold here my heating has gone one. I did the washing this morning. found someone had taken the white laundry basket out of the room and not taken it back so I typed a large print notice out and stuck it on the board so people could see it. telling them "who every took the white washing basket out to return it. it was for use in the laundryroom and that is where it is suppose to stay. " I was angry as we use that to take one lot of washing from the washing machine to the other machine which is a drying machine
Then when I came to check the filter on the drying machine it was thick with fluff someone had not cleaned that out either. I cleaned it out and left another note on the board, what a morning. why do people do this , ?
I came back to my flat and was using the computer, when I looked out the window and saw the man in the flat above me he is 89 staggering in with his trolley and falling about so I grabed my keys and rushed to help him. he did look ill he sat on the stairs. getting his breath back. I said did you fall ? he did coming in the main gate off the main road he stumbled and fell and two young men rushed and picked him, up. He would not let me take his shopping and trolley up stairs to the flat for him, I stood and waited till he got to his flat and opened the door he called out I am ok now Rita thank you for being so kind and caring his wife is older than him and is hard of hearing so I was so worried.but I told the man in the next flat what had happened and if they needed help to call me.
what a day it has been.
I feel exhausted now what with email phone calls and my mouth still hurting with the ulcers I think I will have a rest now.

Morning all It's quite good here this morning. Been to Tesco to get the last fresh food for the wedding. Also got some nice flowers to brighten things up. The decorating is nearly all done, last finishing touches tomorrow. Then I have to put back minimal belongings for the day and Christmas. Thank you Marilyn and Jean for the lovely cards, I can't wait to put them all up. Christmas is starting late for us this year. Tree will hopefully go up over the weekend. Dentists tomorrow afternoon. Then pick up the flowers for the wedding group. Then pick up the Indian foods late thursday. Hope everything is sorted now.
Have a nice afternoon everyone. Hope the weather improves for the northern folk, especially Stephen.

My job search when I joined the Rat Race !!!!!!!
1. My first job was working in an Orange Juice factory,
but I got canned. Couldn't concentrate.
2. Then I worked in the woods as a Lumberjack,
but just couldn't hack it, so they gave me the axe.
3. After that, I tried being a Tailor,
but wasn't suited for it -- mainly because it was a sew-sew job.
4. Next, I tried working in a Muffler Factory,
but that was too exhausting. 5. Then, tried being a Chef - figured it would add a little spice to my life,
but just didn't have the thyme.
6. Next, I attempted being a Deli Worker,
but any way I sliced it.... couldn't cut the mustard.
7. My best job was a Musician,
but eventually found I wasn't noteworthy.
8. I studied a long time to become a Doctor,
but didn't have any patience.
9. Next, was a job in a Shoe Factory.
Tried hard but just didn't fit in.
10. I became a Professional Fisherman,
but discovered I couldn't live on my net income.
11. Managed to get a good job working for a Pool Maintenance Company,
but the work was just too draining.
12. So then I got a job in a Workout Centre,
but they said I wasn't fit for the job..
13. After many years of trying to find steady work,
I finally got a job as a Historian - until I realized there was no future in it. 14. My last job was working in Starbucks,
but had to quit because it was the same old grind. 15.......... SO, I TRIED RETIREMENT
...............AND I FOUND I'M PERFECT ...............FOR THE JOB!
