I'm currently planning a trip up into the Arctic Circle, I have been gobsmacked at the price of flights and ferry travel in Norway. Think I'll use my own yacht....it'll take longer but be a helluva lot cheaper ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Stephen flights are expensive, between £200 and £250 but I prefer to travel by ferry as I don't like flying (except by broomstick) ;-) ;-) ;-)
We like to take the car when possible and fill it up with shopping in Ireland or the UK as supermarket prices are really expensive here.

The rain has stopped but too late to get any washing on the line :-(
Grandchildren have cabin fever today but will be back to school tomorrow and I will be back on the dreaded school run.

morning everyone I did sleep off and on during the night it is hard trying to shut your mind off things.

I kept thinking I had to get things straight in the flat for the children so they knew where everthing was. it is at times like this you think of these things.

weather looks OK outside this morning no winds yet and the sky is stripped red and blue so maybe thats a good sign ?it will be a dry morning at least.

Cath....That Ferry journey must have been bad. Is it too expensive to fly. I know the flights to the Islands in Scotland are VERY expensive. A 1 hour flight to Barra is around £250. return.

Thinking of you Rita and hoping for a good outcome from all of this for you.
Had a lovely time yesterday with our friend and her family and old friends too. Just a small group of 14 plus their 2 yr old grand daughter and 5 day old grand daughter too. Lovely to see everyone and the baby was so good.
Travel was bad in the morning so much rain and the wind too, but a better journey home
Off to the gym soon, got to get back into it, or so hubby says !!

Thank you all . it came as a real shock to me. I dont know why

I said to my sister my train pass runs out in 2012 and my bus pass runs out in 2012 and my passport runs out in 2012. I was stunned when he told me. I can only wait and see what they intend to try?

He said if I have any pain to get intouch with him right away.since he told me that I seem to ache all over. thats shock I expect.

I am just telephoning the family to let them know.

Got back at 10 last night after a 13 hour ferry trip from hell. :-| :-| :-|
OH was really seasick.
Had a great time with our friends in Pompey though.
Rita sorry the news at the hospital was not so good but will be sending you lots of love and positive thoughts.
Patricia congratulations on becoming a great aunt and Huia congratulations on your great grandchilds arrival.

Oh Rita, am so sorry to read your news, but please love stay positive, they are talking about a possible way to go. I know it is hard not to worry, but believe me worrying wont help, just take each day as it comes, and when you go again on Jan 31st I'm sure they will answer all your questions and put your mind at rest. They can do some marvellous things now.
