Hello all, thank you for the welcome to this thread. I have wanted to add to it for a while but did like to, incase I was imposing.lol!! So thanks to you all. I wanted to speak to Rita, so plucked up the courage to post on here.
Marilyn, it's nice to speak to you, it's a while since I have spoken to you. Hope all is well with you and your family.
Rita, like you and Hazel I sometimes do daft things without thinking, I have picked up the remote for the television thinking it was the telephone and actually tried speaking on it.lolol!!
Hope you get a good nights sleep and that things will be a little easier tomorrow. Take care.
Hoping all will go well for you and your son, I am thinking about you and sending you lots of hugs and positive thoughts. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Stephen I was born and brought up in S Wales, but have lived here in SE Derbyshire for almost 33years. My husband's niece is married to a Scotsman, he is from Glasgow, but they now live in Pitlochry with their two little boys.
Well I'l say goodnight to you all now,Take care.
Love, Sallie.xx

I had a good day yesterday. I drove down to Hamilton to see our new great grandson, took the other gt grandmother with me. Lots of photos were taken.
Now if only I could get some energy to do a bit or sorting of my heaps of 'junk'. I cant find a copy I have of a page from a parish register. I wanted to send a copy to a relative so she can see the correct info. I have far too much paper stuff. I thought I had scanned everything onto the computer to make it easer to find, but that one is missing :-0
Huia.

MAKING LIFE WORTHWHILE Every soul that touches yours - Be it the slightest contact -
You get from that some good;
Some little grace; one kindly thought; One aspiration yet unfelt;
One bit of courage For the darkening sky;
One gleam of faith To brave the thickening ills of life;
One glimpse of brighter skies - To make this life worthwhile
And heaven a surer heritage.

For those on the Friendly who are not feeling very great.
DONT GIVE IT UP
Today life gave you another slap but don't give it up
throwing your towel in the ring for things gone wrong, for words that sting
'cos there must be another way you will see it in the light of another day
When everything seems sour, not in your favour look around until you find better flavour
so, don't just give but live it up pick up the pieces, be tough
grind your teeth and turn another cheek don't give it up, that's exactly what they seek
It's too easy to walk away quitter never wins so you should better stay
look challenges straight in the eye don't say yet the last good-bye
fight like an animal in a trap but don't give it up
:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Thank you Pauline for the card with good wishes you can always rely on friends on this thread to cheer you up.
I have made an appointment to speak to my own GP but the appointments for Friday 13th Jan, I want to get some question answered and she is the one to do it for me. so things are made clear. you never understand what is said when it come like that .
My son has found out he will be home from work for two weeks and his eyes will be bandaged so he will not beable to see, he said just tell the children (youngest is 12 the then next 14 the eldest 18 this month to make sure nothing is laying around so he does not trip up. his wife is working and cannot get time off she only started two weeks ago but they are giving her time off to take him to the hospital and collecting him in the evening so it looks as if he will not beable to take me to the hospital and sit with me while the discussion takes place..
My sister said dont worry I will come over and go with you. if it comes to the worst. and John is unable to drive or come with you.
I feel like everything is truning so fast I cannot catch up with it all. so I have to wait now and see what happens.
mean time my daughter will be away on holiday on 31st all booked last year in September.
Thank you once again for the greetings card

Morning everyone, A big friendly welcome to Ann and Sallie. :-D
Rita sending positive and healing thoughts to you and your family. Try and stay strong, at times it won't be easy but we are all here for you if you need to talk or even have a good old rant. 00000000000000 <3 <3 <3 00000000000000
Had a successful mission at the charity shops yesterday, got a lovely round, gilt framed mirror for £8 and a glass bowl for pot pourri £1, lots of books and 3 brand new cushion covers for £4.50. I have started stripping the wallpaper in upstairs loo ready to re-paper with my B & * bargain, OH is changing the radiator for a towel rail and doing the new flooring for me. It will be lovely when finished, a proper posh loo, lol.
The wind seems to have died right down this morning, thank goodness, as its food shopping day (not my favourite chore) and hopefully there will be full shelves in the supermarket. Problems with the ferries due to the winds mean't not a lot of fresh produce and meat got in for the last few days.
<3 <3 <3 to all, have a good day folks.
Cath xx

A Wee Chuckle for the day.
THE LOVE DRESS
The mother-in-law stopped unexpectedly by the recently married couple's house. She rang the doorbell and stepped into the house. She saw her daughter-in-law standing naked by the door.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
"I'm waiting for my husband to come home from work.," the daughter-in-law answered.
"But you're NAKED!" the mother-in-law exclaimed.
"This is my Love Dress." the daughter-in-law explained.
"Love Dress? But you're naked!"
"My husband loves me to wear this dress! It makes him happy and it makes me happy. I would appreciate it if you would leave because he will be home from work any minute."
The mother-in-law was tired of all this romantic talk and left.
On the way home she thought about the Love Dress. When she got home she got undressed, showered, put on her best perfume and waited by the front door.
Finally her husband got home. He walked in and saw her standing naked by the door.
"What are you doing?" He exclaimed.
"This is My Love Dress." She replied.
"Needs ironing." he said.
