Sallie I am pleased I gave you a laugh

Pat you would not know what todo with yourself if you were home all the time? my daughter is due to retire in two years time she said I cannot stay home all day. yet she is never still. she works fall time sometimes from home and looks after her husband who had that big cancer operation 18 month ago and cooks and cleans and she still have one son at home. yet she never sits still

Evening All !

Window Cleaning......I tried to earn a living doing that.....turned out to be a real pane. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Rita , A good window cleaning comapny will now supply the cleaners with long reach poles that has the water running up through it. Ladders are only allowed to be used up to and including the second floor.

Going to have my tea now......feeling peckish ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Sallie

Sallie Report 10 Jan 2012 16:25

Rita, I like it. It just shows how much work and effort some of these window cleaners put into it. Yes I also see other window cleaners using ladders.....sometimes I think they use health and safety as an excuse not to do the job well.

It's a shame that you and the other residents can't complain about some things....maddening as you all have to pay a lot for these services nobody to check that you are getting the service you pay for.

Hope everyone else is okay and you all have had a good day.

Well I'm going to do our dinner now so will speak to you all soon.

Take care,
Love, Sallie.x

No Sallie the Estate is owned by a big company and although we own the flats they get outside companys to do the jobs about the etstae not in our homes but things like pipework guttering and window cleaning even gardening and boiler service we pay for that monthly and it is not cheap. they sort the contractors out and all their properties use the same people. If you complain they dont do anything about it.

I can give you a laugh a few years ago when this new contractor started cleaning the windows he leaned against my kitchen window while reaching up and I still have his finger print on the window that is the truth I often show it to people. I said I am waiting to see if they every clean the window properly. It must be three maybe four years.and it is still there. you can see it from the inside all the little finger lines.

They said Health and Safety stopped them using ladders and they have to stand on the ground with a hose to wash windows. I have seen window cleaners in other places washing them from a ladder.

what a laugh.any excuse for easy money.

Rita, sorry you have to have the two teeth filled again. As you say, it's all about spending money, even staying at home there is always something that we need and have to go and get or order.lol!!

I'm not surprised that you are not happy about the way the windows are being cleaned. I myself wouldn't like mine cleaned that way.To my mind it's a lazy way of cleaning them and done to get as much money as he can get for the least time he spends doing them.

Is there someone that you and the other residents can complain to about it? Whether it will make any difference though, is another matter.

Rita Report 10 Jan 2012 11:30

It did rain on my way back from the dentist not too heavy but it rained. I had an examination another £17 to pay then told I need two fillings I only have 8 teeth at the bottom and they were filled twice last year. I have to go back on 24th to get them done.

I think I will shut myself in doors and not go out. everytime I go out I spend money.

The window cleaner came this morning he uses a hose to do the windows I am not happy about that as they never dry the windows .so we get streaks on the windows looks like your in a prison with bars up(., not that I have ever been in prison ) when the sun comes out .
He did 25 flats and was here one hour.
This time I noticed he has left two cobwebs on one of my back windows. he has gone now otherwise I would have told him.no wonder he does the windows so quickly. lol

Pauline, my daughter was telling me that Jay looked just like his mother. When they went to buy him Jay came and sat on my son-in-law's shoe and looked up at him....so they felt that Jay had made the decision for them on which dog to choose.

A Wee Chuckle for the day

GOD'S IMPROVEMENT

A little girl was sitting on her grandfather's lap as he read her a bedtime story.

From time to time she would take her eyes off the book and reach up to touch his wrinkled cheek. She was alternately stroking her own cheek, then his again. Finally, she spoke up,............

"Grandpa, did God make you?"

"Yes, sweetheart," he answered, "God made me a long time ago.

"Grandpa, did God make me too?"

"Yes, indeed, honey," he said, "God made you just a little while ago."

Feeling their respective faces again, she observed,

"God's getting better at it, isn't he?"

I am also hoping to buy a bookcase (?) that they had. I am working in the afternoon, taking another person's place, so wont be on here until this evening (my time) when you are all getting out of bed.
