Hello all,

Gosh, it's very quiet on here today.....I hope you are all alright.

Linda, lovely to see you home again and to know that you and OH had a good holiday.

St. Lucia sounds as though it's a lovely place. Had you been there before?

Rita, hope you are managing to keep your spirit up and are are able to keep your mind ocupied at least most of the time. Also hope that your son is going along alright. Still thinking about you both.

I'm sure it was nice to have your daughter and her hubby visit you today. Having visitors helps to break the day up a bit, doesn't it?

Pauline, sorry I haven't replied to your pm yet.....will do later on this evening.

We had a bit of bad news on Thursday, a childhood friend of me and my brother died last week. He had been out walking with the ramblers club that he and his wife belonged to. Towards the end of the walk he stsrted with a headache, so took some pain killers when he got home......but got a lot worse, doctor called out and N--l was rushed to hospital inconcious, where they found out that he had a brain tumour, he died two days later aged 63. It's been such a shock and so haven't been on the threads for a few days.
Anyway, I feel better now and have a bit of catching up to do on some of the threads and pm's

Hope all our other friends on here are alright.

Will speak to all soon.

Take care everyone.

Love, Sallie.xx

Hi Linda
I was pleased to hear you had a good holiday. my son was married in St Lucia on the beach in 1998
He said how lovely it was there, and of course I got lots of little nick nacks he brought me home.
We had the celebration in Surrey when he got home. including a wedding cake

My appoiintment for consulatation is on 31st bit worried but need to know what treatment they intend to give me if any ?

My daughter and her husband has just left. she is taking my granddaughter to Bingo this evening as a treat as she doesn get out that much.

I am off to do my dinner now and early one.

Morning everyone
Yes I am back. We had a fabulous time. Sunny, with a cooling breeze so we didn't get too hot, and only rained in the evening , overnight or early morning. So I have a pretty good tan from lounging around reading. I got through 4 books and started a 5th. So really relaxing. We had a tour round the island with a guide and a luxury car so we saw lots too. St Lucia is very green and has a rain forest. It has one big town some smaller towns and a lot of fishing villages. There is a lot of agriculture too. Next to tourism it is their biggest earner. They export bananas and maybe other friuts too. To make the rum they have to import sugar now. Too much food and a fair few cocktails were consumed. A wonderful holiday and we really enjoyed ourselves just doing nothing for the first time in ages.

Maddie I looked for George last night and have sent a couple of records from Ancestry. Hope they might help?

Hope everyone is doing OK. Thanks for the photos of the boys Pauline. Do we have any other new ones? I don't think I have Cath, Wend, and any other newer comers.

How are you Rita have you had any results yet? Sorry I can't remember when you were back to the hospital for the consultant with your sister?

I have so much washing to do I'd better away and get on with it.

Just waiting for the baby to delight us now, due on 24th February and my daughter has now finished work for up to a year. That will fly.

Regards to all Linda xxx <3 <3 <3

Morning I mean that it is here beautiful. as our George would say a real cracker. lol

I think Marilyn we should make a pair of wings from Pete so he can fly off all over the place and leave you at home now and again. either that or move house perhaps he needs new stamping grounds.
I dont blame him wanted to visit as many places as he can. as yu get older you find your not able to do much travelling. My sister is like that we always went together on holidays except when she was going to America and Canada so I have been to quiet a few places but as I have got older I cant travel as much now. she still travels but she said she gets tried more now and she is 75.this year.

I am expecting visitors today. they were due to come last week but she was unwell. so my daughter croaked on the phone see you on sunday Mother.. she is going on her first holiday this year on 31st her and Steve are going to North Devon on a coach trip with friends.one of the friends arranged the friends holiday so they all know each other.

Have a good day.

Can someone with Ancestry tell me if they have parish records.

If so, can some kind person look up George Dolby b. c.1778 in Winkfield for me please? I think his parents are John and Ann from St Marys, Ely, Cambridge.

Any pointers gratefully received.

Ta.

This Image

Looking at the mirror on the wall
I see me or is it ?
I remember how I use to be at twenty three
.
The image here , it can't be me?
It can't be me that I see with short grey hair
and a wrinkled brow. This can't be ME

At twenty three it was a different me
I had long black hair and rosy cheeks
These past years have taken there toll
I look like a reject doll .

Still not too worry life's pretty fair.
I'll soon be on a wing and a prayer.
If I take the mirror off the wall
Good now I can't see me at all.

:-)

If he has done that, then you might need to take some black curtian with you if you cannot sleep in the light. it use to drive my friend Pat mad. she said she never had a good nights sleep till she thought of taking black liners with her. she use to go for a week at a time flew all around the world so was prepared for whereever she had to go.,. was a model at one time and appeared on the front of a couple of magazines.I have no idea where she is now. ?

I have been to pay my paper bill and went and brought myself two bars of chocolate and some ravilo which I intend doing for my dinner today.

The sun is out but it is windy here. I could hear the soldiers practing on the rifle range in Pirbright or it might have been Aldershot. as the wind is blowing this way it sounds louder.

Pauline I have aged a lot over the recent years. I looked younger than my sister at one time she is 6 years younger than I am.and it use to be a joke when people thought she was older than me. I dont laugh anymore about it. lol

I told Cath she need not have shown her photo to everyone on GR site but could have sent it to you. I hope that was OK. ?

have a good day
