I do live in the country, Rita. Plenty of long grass in my garden! I also have a cat and for some reason she decided last summer that she wasnt coming indoors. She seems to be reluctant to come indoors again this summer (such as it is so far).
George, I could get the pest exterminators in to spray around, but what happens to the poor old spiders? And would I have to cover everything up, and vacate the house for umpteen hours? No, if I keep the fleas of my legs they wont be able to feast on me, hence they might take the hint and go away.
I might try to get up early on Sunday (not sure what time) to listen to Ruud Kleinpaste (the bugman) on talkback, and ask him about the fleas. There were 2 different sizes last year, I dont know if they were different varieties of flea.
Huia.

Evening everyone
Just been watching Corrie
Huia, the fleas were dog fleas, I don't know where she got them from. The treatment for her is a liquid that's applied to the skin usually down the back where the dog can't lick it and for the house I got a spray that can be used on carpets, beddiing and soft furnishings. She's not allowed on the sofa or any beds so I didn't have to spray the beds and I washed her blankets.
Hope you get on alright at the dentist tomorrow Rita,
<3

Yvonne, my problems with fleas has started again. I had them last summer. I went outside and promptly had them jumping on my ankles. They are also inside. They are really tiny ones. I have to remember to apply insect repellant to my feet and lower legs when I get up in the morning, and after a shower. How do you get rid of the ones in the house? I did buy some flea bombs last year but after reading the instructions I was too nervous to use them, so just sprinkled lots of flea powder around the floor, sweeping it into all the cracks, and brushing it well into mats, but I had to leave it there for over a week to make sure I got all the new ones hatching out. The house looked a right proper mess.
Not looking forward to the summer if the problem continues.
Huia.

Afternoon eveyrone I didnt feel too good after I had done the washing I went to the shop to get some food items and felt so weak. I managed to get what I wanted everyhing had gone up rocket high in Waitrose there shelves were full of Easter Eggs.and now they are selling household goods like towels and pillows, They were removing the fresh meat from the fridge so they were nearly empty.. I came out and went into the paper shop and found they were now selling food items and were half the price of Waitrose. like toiletries, toilet rolls and kitchen rolls and packets of biscuits and tea..
I came home intending to do a chinese for myself but was not up to it so I did new potatoes and peas and boil in the bag beef, isnt that exciting ? but I enjoyed it.
so this afternoon I have sat in the chair with the heating on watching " "Passport to Plimico" as old as me.
My son said he feels old as his daughter is 18 on 25th I said what about your son he was 24 last birthday, he said yes but he passed over that one as it made him feel older. lol
I have the dentist tomorrow afternoon. fillings anyone want to go in my place ? there welcome.
Marilyn I hope you get good results from the hospital.
Pauline did you swear when the line broke and the washing was on the ground ? thats awful when that happens. I dont have that now but in Nofolk living neare the sea the wind blew at times and took the line with it. once it went into the next garden.

Afternoon all.
Yuk, Yvonne, you'll have us all scratching.
Good luck with the check-up Marilyn.
Linda, I had a dream about you last night, you were buying purple and black sandals and asking the lady in the shop if she had a clutch bag to match. You were going to wear them with a purple silk vest and black trousers.
We went for a walk this morning after I'd put the washing on the line and when we got back my line had collapsed, all the washing was on the ground............ in the mud. :-(

Morning all Sorry that it's almost lunchtime, but my body clock is all at odds. Quite bright here this morning. But I won't be hanging out my washing as I am finding it very cold. Didn't manage the gym this morning, hopefully get there tomorrow. Maybe will get out for a walk later with hubby.
Marilyn Maddie thinks I may have found one new bit of info on her George, I'm glad another pair of eyes has helped. As I had lots of help when I first started. Must get beck to research before the baby comes and my mind will be elsewhere !!
Have a good day everyone

Apologies if you have seen this before:-
“Why is it” said the wealthy parishioner to the Parish Priest after Mass, “that people call me stingy when they all know that when I die, all I have goes to the Church”?
“Let me tell you a fable about a pig & a cow”, replied the Priest. “The pig was unpopular while the cow was loved. This puzzled the pig”.
“People speak warmly of your gentle nature & your sorrowful eyes”, the pig said to the cow. “They think you are generous because each day you give them milk & cream. But, what about me? I give them everything I have. I give bacon & ham. Yet, no one likes me. Why is that?
“Do you know what the cow replied?” said the Priest. The cow said to the pig, “Perhaps it is because I give while I’m still living”.
