Hi Rita....I did laugh at your cauliflower going pink !!
So I decided to Google and its perfectly edible to eat.
ANTHOXANTHIN in plain water: The preferred method to cook vegetables containing anthoxanthin is in plain water. The resulting cooked vegetables will be creamy white and tender. However, cabbage, turnips, canned pears, and cauliflower will turn pinkish with overcooking. Therefore, avoid overcooking plants containing anthoxanthin pigment.
So your Cauliflower must have contained ANTHOXANTHIN
Now you know you can buy pink cauliflowers I have seen then and purple ones !!
So don't chuck it away Rita be a good girly and eat yer Veggies ..LOL : :-D

I thought it must be me so I tried again and that piece came out pink as well. have you had anything like that. ? I am not going to eat pink cauliflower. but wonder why this has happened.?

Good evening All
Hope you are all well and warm. Wish I was going to the Shindig with Stephen, I do love a reel or two.
Well done to our slimmers, I wish I could lose a pound or two.
Went to Marks today Marilyn, got some looooooverly linen lines in there, all the new stock coming in. Got myself and oversized shirt and two pairs of linen trousers. Got to get the stuff when it comes out, it goes so quickly. Saw a fabbo pair of shoes a couple of weeks ago, but it was in the City and the shop was closed, so need to pop down there in the week.
So Pauline and Mo. What is this. Have a go at Maddie week? Taking my name in vain, and saying I have no dress sense and I am a drunk? Cheek. Yes, I was holding on to Wend, she was feeling a little tired, and I was helping her onto the train. So none of yer lip. ;-)
Have a good night all.

Hi everyone,
Rita, you are so right about the price of fruit and veg. I was looking at the cauliflowers today, they wre priced from 99p to £1.49 and the hearts of them were yellow nearly brown and the green was just limp. I told OH, that the shops should pay us all to buy them.....they were awful. Still thinking of you and your son and hoping that things will all be sorted for you both very soon. Take care.
Stephen, have a great time at the Ceilidh tonight.
Jean, hope that this lot antibiotics will soon start to work and that you will soon feel a lot better.
Hello to all all the Friendlies, hope you are all well.
Take care.
Love, Sallie.xx

Hi everyone, I've been busy at work :-P Accountant offices are stressful places in January. All those tax returns etc to be done :-( :-( :-( I've been watching the footy and it's Poirot week-end on ITV3. I watched a dvd of Scottish singers in Burns night. My friends lent me this dvd so i thought I'd better watch it. One thing I've noticed is that the evenings are drawing out. :-)

Morning everyone
Linda thank you for telling us about Sue I wondered how she was getting on it is ages since she put a call in on here..
Marilyn as you are a happy bunny will you do me a favour and cyber the bunch of flowers you have on here please. I went shopping this morning. and thought I would treat myself to some flowers as the ones my brother in Law brought me two weeks ago have started to drop. well you know I shop at Waitrose the cheapest they had was £4.99 and they were on their last knockings how they could display the flowers they have today of all days is beyond me ? they are all in a sorry sight and the prices are the same as they are when you buy them fresh so they had not even dropped the price. so I left them
I looked at the meat prices people were all moaning. even the spuds have gone up , Linda and what you said about veg being highly prices you are so right. in years gone bye you could buy veg and make a soup to last you a couple of days. now it pays you to buy a tin of essential soup. it is much cheaper..not as nice as fresh but it is soup just the same.
I looked at Jeans Birthday thread this monring listed my birthdays out for february and waited and waited in the end 20 minutes later I closed down, and went shopping.
I hope you all have a good day today. dont let prices get you down. they will be throwing the food at us before long.

I have had a text from Sue = Posh Pixie, she asked me to let you all know she is OK and back in touch but not on-line yet but still thinks of us and hopes to get back soon. Well hopefully off out this morning to get a new bed. Hope we can find what we want, it can be a big investment and not much chance to try before you buy !!

Hello everyone. Pauline, Maddie is a lady dontcha know. The bottle never touches her lips, coz she's got a teat on it. And her maid makes sure her bib is in place, when she eats her food, she cant have food spilt on her linen bermuda's. The trainers were the finishing touch last time, she looked a real LADY. Well she did when she arrived, but by the time she left she was rather dishevelled, and was clinging onto Wends arm for support. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Just to let you all know, Jean (Jeniwren) is unwell in bed with a bad chest infection. She has had three lots of anti-biotics,to no avail, Lets keep our fingers crossed that this last lot sort her out. Jeni's daughter is keeping the celebration thread going for her. Get well soon Jeni, as the folks on here will miss your breakfasts.
Shelly, both you and Linda will be grandparents at the same time. I hope that both expectant mums are doing o.k, and not suffering to much from exhaustion and heartburn. The cramps are a real Bu**er arn't they Linda.

We had ice and frost this morning Rita but it's all gone now.
I've been stuck in front of the telly for 5 hours watching the tennis, it was so good I didn't want to miss any of it. I don't really like Andy Murray as a person but he played his guts out today, it was very tense.
I got on here no bother but from what you say, they must have had a lot of problems this morning.
Rita, my first wage was only £3.18 shillings.......... I'd just had my 15th birthday.
Maddie, it was a compliment because you're the only person I know who could carry that look off. :-D :-D
It's not your fault your maid is even older than you and can't see past the end of her nose. It's very kind of you to keep her in work. :-) :-)

Afternoon Shelly and George the trouble was the site was down I tried at 8.30 this morning and have tried off and on since then and just managed to get through even the Friends Reunited was down this morning as well.
I am wondering if they have taken on learners and that is why we are getting these problem? I know people have to learn but you would think someone would be at hand to direct them if that is so .?
never mind we are on. Hope your OK and having a good day. it is lovely and sunny here. but we had a very heavy frost this morning my son said it took him ages to scrap the ice of the windows of his car.
