Noreen, it sounds like your luck with the lottery was as good as our, zilch, nowt, a big fat zero. I had to check the raffle on line for Roly, as they didn't publish them in todays paper as they did last week, and yes, you got it right, another big fat nothing. Thank goodness you have got your lappy back in working order now love, even if it does throw a hissy fit now and again. Right Corrie has just started, so bye for now everyone.

Hello!! Well got the old lappy back it needed a hard-drive but it took about 3/4 days to get going thank goodness for sons lol! but still very slow it has also started jumping about eg in middle of sentence half jumps to middle of another line so if I write jibberish it's not my usual rubbish I.m writing it's this blooming keyboard!
Shelly isn't it awful all that money for a big hole....try some string attached to the door handle and close the door quickly next time ....cheaper.....Hope your OK now.
Oh Huia you really have put me off the dentist poor you hope you have recovered by now
Pauline I can sympathise with you on your back I have problems after a car accident last year and waiting for hosp appt. after going to physio for over a year I hope you can get some treatment for it soon Take care.
What a lovely poem Stephen it's really calming am sure the girls will appreciate it
Mo my garden is quite big but only have a couple of small flower bits which is more than enough for me but the middle is still so colourful with Cosmos (I think) they are at their best now and have been going since June , just wonderful, so not pulling up yet will certainly get them next year... ..neighbours keep mentioning them think they are jealous ! haha!
Yvonne and Elizabeth bet your both having a cuppa are you watching "Come Dancing" I am .... wow! wish I could dance like some of them
Well made some Millionaires shortbread yesterday just got it all set and son and partner came up and left with half the tray lol! . They are expecting a little girl in 2/3 wks their oldest boy is nearly 8 so big difference in age think they might have forgotten how hard a baby is ...Oh well they will soon remember me thinks.
Well off to have some millionaires shorty was going to eat it during the Lottery when my numbers came up but think will have enough excitement then.......I wish :-( :-( :-(

Stephen, the girls will love the quotation, it was lovely to read, and says so much.
Thank you for the update Pauline. I can't believe Marilyn's bad luck....that blessed infection, and having to have all that fluid drained again, the poor girl is really suffering, and I do feel for her. I just hope and pray that things get better for her very soon, she has gone through enough already. Oi Pauline, stop being so cheeky,my garden is enough for me to cope with, let alone one that is the size of yours, are you trying to wear me out completely woman. lol As you have said Pauline, Noreen must still be having problems with her lappy, as she normally posts each day.
Have a nice weekend everyone. Mo

That's lovely, Stephen, I hope Marilyn and Jean are both well enough to read it.
Marilyn didn't get out of hospital yesterday. She had another 2 litres of fluid taken from her abdomen and they decided to leave the drain in for now. Plus, she has another infection and needs another week on antibiotics. But Pete said she managed to walk a few steps without the walking frame and she's much more alert now. Oh, and he meant to say the next chemo is Tuesday, not Thursday.
Yvonne, can you send me some of that Bute please? If it works on your horse it might work on me. :-) :-)
Hello Col, have you got the boards sussed out yet?
Have you sorted that lappy out yet, Noreen? Doesn't look like you've posted for a few days. Our Shelly knows a lot about that kind of thing, she might be able to help.
Mo, we've still got a lot of work to do in our garden before winter........... so if you've finished yours!!!
Seems to be a lot of dental work going on with you lot. I would have done the same as you, Huia. It's cheaper than having them filled over and over again.......... and less painful.
Hello, Elizabeth, nice to see you on here again.
Shelly, if you didn't get confused or confuse other people we'd think you were an impostor. :-D :-D
Not sure if anyone else has been on the thread lately....... only read one page.
Take care everyone.

FOR OUR LOVELY MARILYN AND JEAN
I watch the sunrise lighting the sky, Casting its shadows near. And on this morning bright though it be, I feel those shadows near me.
But you are always close to me Following all my ways. May I be always close to you Following all your ways, Lord.
I watch the sunlight shine through the clouds, Warming the earth below. And at the mid-day, life seems to say: "I feel your presence near me."
I watch the sunset fading away, Lighting the clouds with sleep. And as the evening closes its eyes, I feel your presence near me.
I watch the moonlight guarding the night, waiting till morning comes. The air is silent, earth is at rest – only your peace is near me.

Thank you Pauline, for the latest update on our Marilyn. Sorry to hear your back is no better honey, we do miss your posting on a regular basis. Lets hope and pray, that Marilyn is allowed out today. Poor girl must be going stir crazy by now. Mind you, with her being so unwell, she may have slept for most of the time. It will be nice for Pete to have her home with him, and have some sort of normality. Going back for her chemo is a small price to pay for having family time at home.
Shelly the NHS is The National Health Service love. No wonder you was confused hun. Steady on with that eating matey, you don't want to put the weight back on. Have you had the heavy rain where you are Shelly? It's been raining cats and dogs since this morning, our garden looks like a swimming pool..

Hi all, sorry I can't stay on long, my back is really bad at the moment. Just giving you an update on Marilyn.
Her temperature is still normal and she had no side effects from the chemo. She's managed to walk a few steps with a walker and she's trying to build her strength up. The doctor said if everything goes well she might be allowed to go home today and then go back for her next chemo next Thursday.
Sorry, I haven't read any posts, can't sit up long enough.
Take care all.

Hello Elizabeth, good to see you my love, and thank you for your kind thoughts.
Huia, I hope your mouth settled down after your ordeal. I do hope you are not in to much pain following the extraction, as sometimes it takes a few days to stop aching doesn't it.
Still no further news re Marilyn, but I did speak to Jeni over the weekend, and she is doing well considering her she undergoing chemo. ((((((((((((HUGS FOR MARILYN AND FOR JENI <3 <3 <3))))))))))))))

The dentist had to dig really deep to get my tooth out, had to grind down some of the jaw bone so she could get at the roots, and as they were growing very close to the sinus cavity she prescribed some antibiotics to take and told me not to blow my nose. The surgical removal cost $275 and the antibiotics cost $15. Pop goes the weasel. I have to have no solid food for 24 hours, or hot drinks, so I got a hot chocolate takeaway drink, some of which I managed to spill, took it to our shop and topped it up with milk to cool it down, and drank it through a straw. I also bought a squeezy tube of tomato soup and made that up with mostly milk, and drank through the straw. That was my lunch. I will have soup for dinner tonight.

Shelly were not on benefits either, and neither are my lot, and they all work, but they are NHS patients as well. Cor blimey matey, you were a brave soldier going all on your own, you desrve a gold medal. My Roly was as bad as you, he didn't go for well over 30 years, but he's now got confidence in his dentist, and doesn't mind going at all. It only takes one bad experience at the dentists, and it's enough to put you off going for life isn't it.

Goodness me, Shelly did they have to knock you out to take the tooth out. But how come it cost you £120, I only paid £220 for a check up, xrays and a new crown to be fitted. Did you go private matey, coz mine was on the NHS. The hole will soon heal love, so don't worry.
Huia,I think you have made the right decision about the tooth. Fillings can fall out easily, and then you end up paying the same cost over again, well, thats if it hasn't gone up in price by then. And besides, you will have a brilliant smile to go with it.

I am due at the dentist in a little over 2 hours to have a tooth removed. I could have had it refilled, but as it is only a few months since it was last done I decided that at $180 per filling it would be cheaper to get it removed at about $250, and get a couple of teeth added to my partial top plate (the second one to fill a big gap I have had for some time). They will cost $200 each, so about $650 in total, but it will be final for that tooth that lost the filling.

Thank goodness Noreen, you had us worried for a while when we read your posting. It makes you want to scream when you are told "It's fixed" and it's not, grrrr. Thanks for the cake, it went down a treat with my afternoon cuppa. Mmmmm do we think your daughter would notice the difference, between home made christmas cake, or shop bought......me thinks yes she would, so no cheating from you missus. When my lot were young, I always made my own christmas cake, but now I don't even bother. With Roly being diabetic, it's a waste of time, and I don't like eating cake right round to the next christmas. lol My waist line won't take it. :-( :-( :-(
I wonder if Pauline has spoken to Marilyn's husband again. I do hope she is o.k.
Well my garden is now completely put to bed for the winter. The last of the pruning is done, the leaves swept up, and the recycling people have taken the bin away hooray. It was so nice to get outside, and sit in the garden for a while after it was completed. But the garden now looks so bare, with only the shrubs left.
Must go and start dinner now, so I will say bye for now. Mo
