LindainBerkshire1736004 Report 9 Feb 2012 23:13

Had friends to dinner this evening.

Oh my goodness it has been snowing for over an hour now, it actually looks like frozen rain ontop of the snow from earlier. The bird feeders have an inch on the top of them.

Hope it warms up a bit and melts overnight as it is freezing here now, even indoors.

Hoped to get across and see the baby tomorrow, maybe not.

A Wee Chuckle for the day.

Obituaries

Graham rings the local newspaper and asks to speak to the person in charge of the obituary column.

He is passed to the advertiser and he asks, 'How much does it cost to place an obituary in the paper?'

'£1.20 per word, sir, 'replies the newspaperman respectfully.'

'Ok', says Graham, 'are you ready?'

'Yes', came the answer.

'The obit. reads - ' Jones dead'.'

'No more?' asks the newsman in a very surprised voice.

'No, that's it, 'came the reply.

'I have to tell you, 'announced the advertiser, 'but there is a 5 word minimum.'

'Why didn't you tell me before?' complained Graham, 'in that case it will read:

'Jones dead. Volkswagen for sale'

My daughter emailed me to say she had a phone call this afternoon from an indian Lady asking her for her date of birth. she said she was phoning from the Secruity Department because money transaction had been made into my daughters account £800.. so my daughter asked her what bank are you. ? she shouted and told her to answer her questrion . she needed her date of birth. so my daughter said she hung up and phoned her bank. they said it was nothing to do with them and they never give out clients names or addresses of any othe rinformation.
I said they try everything to con people out of money. three times my sister had money taken out of her account and it was a good sum as well. they dnt do it now as she said no large sum of money goes out of her bank unless she gives permission first.

Sallie Hi good to see your about. I dont know what to do next to be honest. I think I am getting better then feel ill. I told my daughter I got this I am sure, because the man in the flat above me had work being done while he was away and the carpenter left the outside door open so he could go in and out without using the key. as my flat is ground floor you get a draft come under the door and in through the letter box. I had that once before.

My daughter said my Little Great Grandson whose birthday was in the week has to go back to hopsital in Chelsea for more test, he had alittle bag attached to his leg as he had trouble passing water. they removed it and now it looks as if he will have to have another one. he was seven in the week. bless him he is a lovely loving child. likes lots of cuddles. and my granddaughter has to have her MRI next tuesday so we start with hospital again

Also hope that Jean is improving. Has anyone heard anything from her or her daughter lately.

Stephen, nice one again.....all your stories and jokes make me laugh and brightens my day.

Marilyn, wish I was going to London too. It's a good while since we've been into central London. Shall have to think about going in next time we stay with our son.

Linda, you are a busy bee doing all that knitting. I'm sure your cousin in Canada will appreciate all the lovely hand knitted stuff you make for the baby.

Good to hear that all is going well for the new mum and baby.

George it's really cold here in Derbyshire too. I just hope that we won't have more snow, as tmost of he snow we had on Sunday still
haven't cleared.

Hope everyone else is alright, have to go now as going to do the weekly shop.

Speak to you all soon.

Hello everyone.

It is cold out . not that I have been out , but opened the window and stuck my head outside. to take in the fresh air.
I dont seem to be able to sift this virus. it is like a flu I have headaches. sneezing. coughing. feeling hot and cold. and wheeze evey now and then. I have been drinking lots of water and tea. also taking paracetmol and gargling as well. I just said to my son I will have to phone the doctor tomorrow if I am no better, I might need antibiotics..

it will be two weeks today since I started this, I had the flu injection as wel
I just checked my emails inbetween sleeping in the chair

George I hope things work out for you. have you thought of renting you cottage out instead of selling it for a few months.? the reason I say this is unless your 100 % sure about the move it is risky.?

I met someone through friends when I lived in Norfolk and he had a big house and two shops he wanted me to move in with him. to see how thing went , but I said no. he met someone else a couple of years aftewards she had a rented flat and gave that up.moved in with him, and they went on holiday together, he died with a heart attack while on holiday. she had no where to live as the house and shops had been left to his children.. they didnt want to know her, she did rent a flat later on. but she said she wished she had not given her flat up.

I am not saying your sarah would be like that. she sounds a nice person and I hope your be happy.Just thought I would say what can happen.

I must go and make some tea now.

Love to everyone

xx
