Marilyn I should send you to the naughty step :-S Off on your travels again and leaving us behind. Have a lovely time. :-D I am looking forward to going back to Ireland in April and also a week in Portsmouth in June. Hope everyone has a good day, <3 <3 <3 to you all,

Morning all Hope our poorly friends are getting better, has anyone had an update on Jean? <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 Happy Birthday to those celebrating recently. Our next dinner at home will be 21st Feb our youngest daughter, family meal of probably roast pork. Have been over to our daughters a lot trying to help out while she needs it most. Today we are going to a copy group concert for Fleetwood Mac with my brother in law. Tomorrow with daughter again and Tuesday I'm off to coffee morning with her. Baby has to go back to hospital for a check as he is still a little jaundiced, so not yet signed off to health visitor care. Thursday we have sons spaniel for a few days as he has to go up to Harrogate on work, which is nice cos his wife can see her parents who live there. Goodness knows when I will get to see my Mum? But as we want to take her out, not a bad thing as it would be too cold to take her out in her wheelchair.
We still have lying snow, it was bitterly cold last night. We came back from a friends where hubby went in a hot tub and the temperature was -10C !!!
Have a better few days everyone

Stephen Eilidh is a lovely name I have never come across that before do you know why it means ? I am pleased you enjoyed the day with the family.
My Grandsone Lee who is in the Army was 26 today. not able to get home for his birthday. he is waiting to be deployed ( I think that is the word ) so although it is a happy day for his birthday it is a worry as to where he is going to go.? he has been given two places and both are worrying. he has already been to five different countries over the past three years..
Yes it was shock to hear Valerie on the telphone. we write and send cards so we do keep intouch. but this came out of the blue.but I could not get over how it happened this time.

This gave me a chuckle a little while ago my telephoe rang. I picked it up and said " Hello " the voice on the other end , said i am so sorry I have got the wrong number.? she went to hang up. I said Valerie is that you ? she said yes who is this? I said Rita, it does not sound like you ? no because I am getting over a virus I said you dont sound like yourself either ? it was the brummie accent. she too is getting over a virus, she wanted to know how I was so we chatted away. I said how come you rang my number. ?she had been going to phone her sister in Birmingham and got me by mistake. she wondered how she did that as our names are on different pages .I said it was fate, I still cannot beleive it. we were best friend for over 22 years when I lived in Ealing we always went about together.

Marilyn not again your never back for a full month before your off again. are you sure you want to go and bathe in the sun and get tanned. ? NO of course you dont.. have a good time. I know you will.
I am booked for one holiday for June 30th in Eastbourne. I wanted to go there and my sister has booked it and we are really looking forward to that. its not far away from where I live about 1 hour and 1/2. Now I am looking for another one towards the end of the year. not sure where I want to go yet ? that is provided I am not in hospital of course ? I like Devon and Dorset. but we will see.
Hi Pauline yes the medication must be working as I feel better that I was but I feel cold all the time and my bones have been aching I cut down on my steriods because one doctor told me too . and the Doctor that call in to me told me I should not have done that so I am back on 5 mg now.
I had letter from the pension people saying the pension is going up in April by a couple of pound its not much but it helps. I also had one telling me I could claim certain things because of my health. but I am not going too.
I had one telling me I was entittled to cold weather payment and they would put a cheque in my bank account, as my pension goes into the bank. I didnt think I would get that this year. but a neigbour said it is because I am over 80.and the Meteorological Office say it was cold enough.
My Grandson Lee who is in the army has a birthday today 26 years old. how quick the time goes. I remember him in a army uniform in Norfolk when I lived there he was 5 years old then always mad to join the army. . so proud of his regiment.. I pray he will stay safe.
off to do some dinner now.

Morning everyone
Hazel I forgot to say how silly is it these social departments . read a name on a folder and then takes no notice of their being unable to do certain things . then expect them to run a marathon they should have a travelling doctor to call on people if they want proof. I know alot of people say they are unable to do things and can for social. but most people are not that way.
My Granddaughter has many problem in her health, she has spent months and even years in hospital was in a wheel chair for a couple of years but now uses crutches and even then cannot get about much at all she is in her late 30th's and needs hip and knee replacements .and the amount of drugs she has to take is unbeleivable without them she would not suvive. but she comes up against social departments at times that upset her, they dont see her so dont know what her condition is. her new Doctor in a differnt hospital was shocked when he saw her condition. the departments that know her always do things to help rather than hinder her.
I hope things work out for you.
I hope Jean is on the mend ? I am getting better but it is a slow progress. I ache all over and have pains in my chest and back the cough has got better and I am not sneezing so much. I must be going in the right direction. The sun is out this morning, and the snow is melting so it must be warmer. I will be pleased when I can go out.
have a good day.

Morning all, very dark and miserable again today................ that's the weather I'm talking about Stephen............. not me. :-D :-D
I was wondering about Dermot as well, I know he doesn't come on here as much as the rest of us but he hasn't been on for ages. His witty little comments are a miss.
Has the medication helped you yet Rita? Hope it kicks in soon.
Any more news about Jean?
George, you're shaping up nicely to enter the perfect husband competition. :-D
Foggy, I'm sure you're well capable of getting up to mischief, you're not that old. :-D
Hazel, I suppose if anyone managed to get to a medical on the 2nd floor without a lift, it would be proof that they were fit. Maybe that's the test, :-) hopefully your doctor will be able to sort it out for you.
Linda, did you manage to get back to see your gorgeous little grandson?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ to everyone.
It's so dark here that I couldn't find my wave, kept hitting the @@@@@
Morning Friends hope your all feeling well. ?
what a morning it is thick snow and black ice here I. can see the cars crawling along, as the road is glittering with the ice. it looks lovely a real picture but not so I would think for the drivers.?
My son emailed me to say his boiler burst last night and flooded his garage so he has no heating the BG man called and fixed the burst but he has to go back this morning to see to the boiler. my son said he needs a new Gas boiler now. and he has a lot of bedrooms and all the radiators need to be washed out as well. so goodness knows what that will cost him.? I said what a time for them to pack up. when it is like this snow and ice about.
Foggy I am sure you get up to mischief no one is too old for that. lol I would like to stand near you and George when your out to see what you get up too. ?
I hope your feeling a little better Jean and Cath ? . I have not got my perscription yet. you would not beleive what I have been through with the chemist as well when I phoned and asked if I would get my perscription yesterday. she said it has not been faxed through yet. so I phoned the doctors and they said they were just doing that. It must have been a bout 4 oclock then. ? so i phoned Boots the chemist and told them. she said your get it tomorrow at 1 oclock. I asked why did I have to wait that long ? I needed the antbiotics as well as the cough mixture and stuff for my ulcers.;l ( I cannot buy anthing as I am on warfarin and allergic to Panicillian so they have to sort out what I can have ) she said the van we hire comes at 7 oclock this evening and he starts delerivery at 8 the next morning until 1 oclock. she said you can always phone the taxi people in Woking they will come and collect it and bring it too you . I said who pays for that ? she said we dont pay out for your perscription thats up to you ? It would cost me about £12 plus for me to do that. she said you better make your mind up ? I said put it on the van for tomorrow just shows you how these shops treat people these days. I thought she was very rude.? but not up to having a row. I might tell her what I think of her when I feel better,
A Wee Chuckle for the day
Short Term Investment
A wealthy ninety years old tycoon is meeting with is financial advisor.
The advisor is very excited and tells the old man, 'I just found out about an investment I can make for you which will double your money in just five years.'
'Five years? Are you kidding?' splutters the old man.
'At my age, I don't even buy green bananas.'
