Afternoon everyone, it's not a bad day, quite mild and dry.

We were only out walking for a couple of hours today because hubby wanted to get back to watch the racing.

I didn't have to fight my way through brambles or nettles either because we didn't walk through any wooded areas.

I've never been to Kew, not much chance of ever getting there either.

Linda, has your daughter given her job up or is she going back after her maternity leave is up?

Liked the 'chuckle' Stephen, I sometimes feel like that when I drive............ although I don't go through red lights.

Rita, I was going to ask about your blood tests but you've just answered the question. I think you need a secretary to keep up with all your appointments.

They have 3,634,543 records (baptisms, marriages, burials, cemetery registers, and census). I've found births that I didn't know about because the babies died after a few days. I found them in the cemetery registers.

when my sister and I went to the Kew Records Office we were over whelmed with how they helped us. they showed us how to copy the items where to find them and even brought the Royal Naval boxes out for us to go through they checked every so often to make sure we had what we wanted.?
That was when they first opened. and we went there quiet a lot afterwards. I liked the Islington RC as that was eaier for us to get too and every thing was to hand.

I got my blood test results not good. too hgh I have to change the tablets I take for the warfarin.and I have to go back on 29th for another check on INR. I hope they work out OK have been going every three months so hope I dont have to go every two weeks.?

I also got my eye hospital appointment in some other Doctors grouping I have been with the other doctor for 8 years. and it was on a Monday, this surgery is on a Tuesday. which could clash with my Cancer appointments. I am waiting to see if Goldworth care can t ransport me to and from the hospital..
so that week I am at my AGM on 27th. eye hospital the next day and the INR blood test the next day. goodness know whenb I can shop and do my housework. lol

I had fish and chips for dinner from the shop. it was lovely.
off to make some tea now.

hazel i have only been to kew once i dident find the staff help full
but i have been to the chelmford office a couple of time
but most of the info in there i need i can go to stratford libruy
then the truble there is there is no were to park the car

Hi Everyone

Rita I loved the FRC most of the staff are at Kew.But alot have left now. I miss the books not the same now it online. Its alot better at Kew now then it use to be.User friendly now.I try to get there when it opens and they have to kick me out most times.

I didnt get to sleep until 6am. Woke up at 7am so not much sleep. I am going to library to pick up a book that i have been waiting to come in. Got to copy some emals i have(havent got printer). Then bit of shopping.

Liinda hope your daughter can get on without you being around. My daughter in law is coping better with twins and 2 half year old Arron. He goes to play group 3 mornings a week so that helps.My son Duane is on Shift work so he is about to help as well.

Well better get up start this day. going. Eyes are sore so dont think be putting contract lenses in today. I hate waring my glasses :-(

not sure if it is a good morning? as the sky looks very grey still it was like that yesterday and turned out to be a lovely dayhope everyone is feeling well. ? or should I not say that ? just get well to those not feeling well.

I had a lot of jokes come through from Pauline this morning did you stay up all night doing those Pauline. lol

Stephen looks like you have some rotten weather coming up. still it has not been as bad as last year. thank goodness.

Hazel I have not been to the TNA for about three years. I use to love going there my sister and I would pack a lunch and spend the day there. we were nearly always the first to get there. we had a moan when they atsrted showing WDYTUA on TV as the records office was at Isllngton then. and it was never any trouble getting the books to go through. untill that programe started then more and more people came. in the end we queued to get in and had to wait ages for the books people never put them back in the right order. and they all thought it was so easy searching. they soon found out it wasnt.

Morning all
Well home again and will be around for a while, as hopefully daughter is feeling confident enough to be on her own. Strange as she held down a job where people rellied on her confidence in her own ability.
We have the dog, so will be off for a walk soon.
Seems milder here this morning but think the forecast is for cooler.

Hope Jean is feeling a bit better. Also that all others are in better health.

Evening all,
work wasn't too bad ;-)
Managed to do some work on my tree tonight so I'm pleased. No renovation work done on the bedroom today though :-( Sometimes I wish I didn't live in such an old house :-S Theres always more to do than expected, i.e plaster coming off in huge chunks with the wallpaper etc.
Had an afternoon of cuddles with grandchildren though :-D :-D :-D
The eldest has been unwell all week and woke up with a rash all over her body, high temperature and sore throat and a bright red face this morning. Doctor said it's Scarlet Fever and started her on a 2 week course of antibiotics. Poor little soul just lay on the sofa all afternoon.
Hope all the friendlies are well and those who aren't get well soon.

Hello everyone, hope you are all alright today and those of you that are poorly are starting to get better.

I've had a few problems getting on this site this afternoon, when I finally did, I kept getting the Error message or blank pages. I sent one of the members a pm and just as I was finishing typing it, it just disappeared, so had to do it again. Oh, we do have fun at times being a member of GR.lol!! I don't think!


Rita, it's good to hear that you are up and about and have been able to go out and get a few household chores done. Take care and don't overdo it. Hope you enjoyed your cup of tea and cake, you certainly earned it.

Nothing like fish and chips from the chippy, hope you and your friend enjoy them. Oh, I could just eat some now.!!

How are things with your son, has he heard anything about his operation yet?

Hope things aren't too bad for your granddaughter too, and that the hospital are able to sort her out again. Thinking about you all.



Cath, hope you are able to finish your bedroom very soon. We have the landing, stairs and hall with half the paper stripped off since before Christmas and that's as far as we have got.lol!! It will get done one day, I suppose when the weather gets warmer.

I like you .have not done anything on my family tree for ages. I am so slow at what I do recently. it takes me yonks to do anything.
but I have managed to vacume the flat today. and washed the kitchen floor and did the bathroom out. now I am going have a cup of tea and a cake.
and watch some TV.

tomorrow I have my paper work to sort out. loads of reading for the AGM on this estate.other bits. so I hope I feel like doing them tomorrow.

My friend is getting us Fish and Chips tomorrow so I will not have to cook.

I did.nt get my blood test results this morning I think they must be OK as they phone me when the blood is too thin.and stop my tablets for a day or two. ? so I ecpect it will come tomorrow morning.

I went and collected my perscription from the chemist this morning and it was lovely out the sun was shining and it was really warm.. I had a little walk around. brought a couple of items from Waitrose before I came back,.

Have you noticed how it is lighter in the mornings and evenings.

Think I will have a cup of tea now.

I will be abck later., so enjoy the afternoon.
