A Wee Chuckle for the day

A pious man who had reached the age of 105 suddenly stopped going to synagogue.

Alarmed by the old fellow's absence after so many years of faithful attendance the Rabbi went to see him.

He found him in excellent health, so the Rabbi asked, "How come after all these years we don't see you at services anymore?"

The old man looked around and lowered his voice.

"I'll tell you, Rabbi," he whispered. "When I got to be 90, I expected God to take me any day. But then I got to be 95, then 100, then 105.

So I figured that God is very busy and must've forgotten about me, and I don't want to remind Him!"

Sallie Report 24 Feb 2012 11:51

Good morning everyone,

Sorry I haven't been on here for a few days.
We've spent some time over the last two days at two hospitals with our daughter. Wednesday we were at the local one, where we found out why her left ankle and right leg had been swollen over a few days. She has pulled the ligaments in the both of them, so has to keep her legs up, which would be okay if she wasn't suffering from a flare up with the Chrohn's Disease, she was diagnosed with it nearly eight years ago.
Then some of yesterday was spent at the Nottingham hospital where she's under a Consultant for it. Although she had had some bleeding they were satisfied that it was a minor flare up, so she didn't need any antibiotics nor stay in. We were all relieved to know that, especially Jennie(daughter) herself.

I haven't had time to read back on the thread, so I'll have a read through a bit later and pop back on.

Rita, hope that you are over the infection/flu you had and feeling a lot better now.

Hope all the other Friendlys are okay.

Speak to you all later.

Love, Sallie.xx

Morning all, Stephen, Jean and Rita who all added before me.

I have just got back from the gym, now need a nap LOL.

We got the car all OK yesterday. It is a Freelander, made by Land Rover. Just one small issue in that the CD player doesn't accept discs or reject them so booked in for that next week.

Baby is doing well but booked in for a check at the hospital for the jaundice.

Our son and his wife arrived safely in New York and sound as if they love it.

Have a great day

A Wee Chuckle for the day

A man goes to visit his 85-year-old grandpa in the hospital

"How are you, Grandpa?" he asks.

"Feeling fine," says the old man.

"What's the food like?"

"Terrific, wonderful menus."

"And the nursing?"

"Just couldn't be better. These young nurses really take care of you."

"What about sleeping? Do you sleep OK?"

"No problem at all, nine hours solid every night. At 10 o'clock they bring me a cup of hot chocolate and a Viagra tablet ... and that's it. I go out like a light."

The grandson is puzzled and a little alarmed by this, so rushes off
to question the Sister in charge. "What are you people doing?!" he says,

"I'm told you're giving an 85-year-old Viagra on a daily basis. Surely that can't be true?"

"Oh, yes," replies the Sister. "Every night at 10 o'clock we give him a cup of hot chocolate and a Viagra tablet. It works wonderfully well.

The hot chocolate makes him sleep,

and the Viagra stops him from rolling out of bed."
