I had some bad news this afternoon my son in Law who had part of his tummy removed with cancer part of his gullet had a scan on Monday today he got results back. the cancer is not back in the tummy but they are worried about his gullett there is a white ring that should not be there. so he goes on Monday to have the tube down his throat to see what it is ? also his markers are too high. He said he is not going through Chemo again he was so ill with that last time. It has upset the family we have had nothing but illness for years now. when will it all end.

I went shopping this morning and while at the check out I had a running nose as I thought ? instead it was a bad nose bleed. the young girl at the check out was so upset., I said dont worry I get them often. I didnt tell her this was the worst so far.it looked as if I had been in a car accident. I dont know how I got home./?

My Nephew was due over from the USA for a holiday my sister was due to meet him at Heathrow. but she got a call his fliight was cancelled due to David Cameron was flying back home. my sister said you should have asked for a lift home .he has another flight but it makes him late getting in to Heathrow.

Finished the back of another cardigan, pale blue this time and bigger, just incase baby ever actually needs any clothes !!

Oh Rita, you did make me laugh! My OH used to be a heavy breather at night (not quite a snore, although on occasions he did snore) but sometimes I couldnt hear him breathing and would lie there listening until I did hear him again. I didnt dare check up on him.

Morning to all my firends on friendly.

Stephen once again you made me laugh. my husband was never ill but always had a cough. . he said he never had it till he was in the army and went to Egypt(. he did get bouts of Malaria sometimes quiet badly. I use to give him quinin for that ).

one night he was quiet and I had not beenable to sleep so I lay there waiting to hear him cough? it never came . and he was so still .so I leaned over his side of the bed and looked at him. to see if he was still with us ? he opened his eyes at that moment and jumped up in shock which sent me jumping as well and I fell out of the bed. we often had a laugh about that, needless to say I never did it again.

Hi Jean, I would feel better if I was younger.? I was saying to my sister this morning when she emailed me My mind is active and wants to do things. but the body wants to ignore my mind . so everything is getting to be a fight the only thing is. getting onto my conputer and speaking to people. I have been on Facebook and it funny to see my relations on there my sister and brothers in laws and my Grandchilrden and nieces and nephews even my little Great Grandchildren ages 7 and 8
I think my goodness they can use a computer.? god bless them.

My nephew is arriving at Heathrow from Washington for a holiday. my sister said she is looking forward to seeing him. he shoud be at the airport now

Stephen my prayers and thoughts for your friend and his family, and for you, it is very sad when a good friend gets such bad news, but I know you will support him during this sad time, I do hope all the people he supported in the past will be there for him during the next few months.
It is a bit dull here this morning but at least it is dry, may get some tidying up done in the garden, no doubt with some 'help' from Scarlett, she loves feeding the birds but then expects them to come and eat while she is there.
Rita I hope you are feeling better, take things easy and look after yourself.

A Wee Chuckle for the day

During my brother's wedding, my mother managed to keep from crying ...
... until she glanced at my grandparents.

My grandmother had reached over to my grandfather's wheelchair and gently touched his hand.

That was all it took to start my mother's tears flowing.

After the wedding, Mum went over to my grandmother and told her how that tender gesture triggered her outburst.

"Well, I'm sorry to ruin your moment," Grandmother replied, "but I was just checking to see if he was still alive."

Had a long chat with my friend last night. He is thinking positvely and will accept what comes his way. 'Why should I not be one of the many that get Cancer' he said. 'Loads of folk get it and I don't see why I should complain if I do' .........As always he is very philosophical about things that come into his life.

Hello everybody. It is very quiet on here. Have you all had trouble getting on here, or have you all gone out for the evening? Usually, by the time I come on after my lunch I have several pages to read. It is a lovely sunny day down here in the land of the long white cloud. Not that it is a long cloud at present, lots of small ones.

Afternoon all

It was foggy this morning but it's been lovely this afternoon,

My car went for a service and MOT on Monday, I told the mechanic to check out a problem it was having, now and again the engine would lose power as I treid to pull away from a junction or lights, he phoned me later and told me it needed a new clutch!!!!. So now i'm a few hundred pounds lighter or will be when the credit card bill arrives

Beautiful sunshine now

Been shopping have managed to get some new sandals, bring on summer so I can go walk about and give them a good test.
Also got the food for Sunday as all the family are here on Mothers Day, tried to check out a pub/restaurant but really booked up and then soooo expensive.

Saw baby grandson yesterday afternoon. He is coming on well, less jaundiced seems to have an olive complexion anyway and eyes could be turning brown. He has gained weight now up to 7lb 1oz.

Morning you notice I have left Good off it. we too have a blanket of fog.it was thick at 2 oclock this morning, not so thick now but still with us.

Stephen I am sorry to hear about your friend , I lost my cousin Freddy last year, he had the same cancer he lived just outside Glasgow. he had it for five or six years.? . My son in Law had it and had half his tummy removed two years ago, he is waiting for results of a PET scan now. so that is a worry, Prayers for him please.
My eldest son had a kidney removed a year ago he is a paramedic. yesterday he was told how well he has done and can live a normal life. He is so happy. but it is terrible thing to have cancer you live each day and hope for the best. I know that in my case.
But Postive thoughts and prayers go along way I put their names up on the boards and so many people prayed..

George some people can eat loads and not put an ounce on my daughter in Law is a size 6 and she eats large meals so does my other daughter in Law bot work in hospitals.one in Marternity the other is an in tensive care nurse.
Me small meals and I still put w eight on. I think a lot of it is in the genes.

Off now to get my breakfast..

Very foggy here again. Was misty on the way home from Reading yesterday evening. Glad I'm not needing to go anywhere early this morning.

Stephen so sorry to read about your friend, sending my thoughts for him and thinking of his family at this trying time.

Love your "Mum" joke. I had heard it before but laughed out loud, my hubby wondered why !!

A Wee Chuckle for the day



A young man shopping in a supermarket noticed a little old lady following him around.
If he stopped, she stopped. Furthermore she kept staring at him.

She finally overtook him at the checkout, And she turned to him and said, "I hope I haven't made you feel ill at ease; it's just that you look so much like my late son."

He answered, "That's okay."

"I know it's silly, but if you'd call out "Good bye, Mum" as I leave the store, It would make me feel so happy."

She then went through the checkout, And as she was on her way out of the store, The man called out, "Goodbye, Mum."

The little old lady waved, and smiled back at him.

Pleased that he had brought a little sunshine Into someone's day, he went to pay for his Groceries.

"That comes to £121.85," said the clerk.

"How come so much .. I only bought 5 items.."

The clerk replied, "Yeah, but your Mother said You'd be paying for her things, too."

Thanks for your kind messages about my friend. He and his family will be facing tough times ahead. He married late in life and found a great peace with his wife and adopted daughter. We grew up together and had many happy times over the years. He was always there when folk needed help. I hope they are around for him now that he will need them.
