A Wee Chuckle for the day
If you jog in a jogging suit,
Lounge in lounging pyjamas,
and smoke in a smoking jacket,
WHY would anyone want to use a wind breaker??
And best of all...
I don't know how I got over the hill without getting to the top.

Hello again Mo. No, I didnt get back to sleep, but I think I had had about 6 hours so maybe that was all I needed, even though I dont think it was a very solid 6 hours.
I had 'fun' in the shop yesterday afternoon. A woman came in, probably in her 50s or 60s though I am a poor judge of age. She looked at a wedding dress that we have had there for some time, brought it to the counter and asked me how much it was. When she was told $95 she said she would have it. She was holding a very old and very tatty pair of running shoes and a big bottle of some sort of soft drink and in the other hand she had 2 hangers with a bright blue bikini on them. I took them from her but couldnt find our price tag. They had the original ones on them, one piece $100 and the other $160. I couldnt get hold of the boss to ask how much so made my own decision, $5. As I put them in the bag with the dress I said 'that is $100'. She picked up the bag and started to walk out! I said 'just a minute, you havent paid yet, it is $100' and I took the bag back, luckily without a fight. She didnt seem to know what was happening. I asked do you have cash, or a card for paying? She got out one eftpos card which I put through our machine and turned round for her to put her number in. She seemed to have difficulty knowing how to do it but finally got the numbers in, but the answer came up ínsufficient funds'. She then wanted to take the bag and go but we (I had a helper by then) said you havent paid yet, asked if she had another card. She brought out a payment card, I dont know what it was for but it didnt work. She offered various other cards including a drivers licence. She went away and came back. One of our helpers had noticed that a shop further along the street had a rack out on the footpath and when she went to look she noticed identical bikinis on it. The woman had just helped herself! I also noticed that she was wearing brand new calf high boots so I dont know where she got them. At least we were able to return the bikini to the other shop. Finally when the woman came back near closing time our boss waited until closing time then led her out onto the path, I locked the door behind them. The boss told her if she came back again we would have to call the police. I believe she should be in care. I wonder if she has family, or somebody who knows about her condition. The thought of the driving license also worries me - is she driving around? It was certainly an experience to remember. I did wonder initially if the dress was for a daughter or granddaughter but later I decided she just fancied it. I feel so sorry for her. I hope she gets help.
Huia.

Hello everyone, hope you have all had a good day, and managed to keep warm. Rita I hope your eye is soon ok. take care. I spent a great afternoon with Scarlett, playing with Play dough. lol. Made some little models of animals, I made a horse, [well as near as I could get to one] she put some little pieces of playdough behind it and said look Nanna, its done a poo. thank goodness we didn't have visitors. Hope Stephen isn't snowed in, looks like Scotland have had a lot of snow, hope it doesn't come this far down. Could have snow at Easter according to one forecast I heard. Well I will say good night, have to be at diabetic clinic in the morning at 9 so will have to be up early. Take care and stay safe everyone, Jean xx :-) :-) :-)

Hello Rita and Huia, Rita I have had the same problem as you, where I have deleted my comments from a thread, and when I go back, the comment has gone, but it's still showing up in my threads. I did explain it to the G.R girls on Saturday, but they didn't understand what I was on about. Seems to me it's another of their Glitches. In fact Huia, it was the thread that Liz put up for your wedding anniversary. And unless Liz deletes the thread it's not going to clear from my threads. I hope you managed to get back to sleep Huia.

Stephen, do you wear your thermals under your kilt or do you tuck the kilt into them so the wind cant blow it up? I am trying to picture both ways, but it is not easy.
Back to bed for me soon. I woke early and couldnt sleep for thinking of a couple of things I had to do. They are done now but couldnt resist dropping in here while I could get in.
Huia down under.

Hi everyone
What a change in the weather, it has got cold now. where is that sun gone?
Foggy I am sorry to hear George is not well. but there are lots of viruses going about at the moment one is sickness and coughs. I hope your keeping well and enjoyed your day at the meet ?
Hope your soon get sorted out with that back of your Pauline. MO is your son getting any treatment at the moment ?
I went to make an appointment for my warfarin blood test for 18th( the day my son goes in for his eye operation ) and Liz on the desk said. she was giving me and appointment to see the doctor for 2. today.
so I went and he said that must feel terrible sore. I explained it came after I had, had my scan but was not sure if it was due to the scan. ?he has made notes to tell my cancer consultant.. I have cream, and drops and tablets but it is very painful.
I have still not had any reply from GR to my complaints about " my Threads " when I have deleted the thread stays but the bit I have deleted goes..and there is no way I can do it from my end. that is two now I have emailed. so I dont like to reply to anything now as it will add to the pages and I will not get rid of it . unless the person who writes the thread deletes it themsleves.
what a bum that is.

Thanks Foggy, for letting us know about George. Lets hope he feels better tomorrow. No snow here in Kent thank goodness, but we did have a little drop of rain this afternoon, not enough to wet the garden though.
Linda, Shelly, new mums learn the hard way dont they. Feeding every couple of hours is a nightmare for both new parents. But, even though we see their mistakes, and offer advice, it's up to them if they take it. Many many times, when my first grandchild was born, I saw my daughter make mistakes, and I had to literally bite my tongue, till later when we had discussions about bringing up children.
See ya's all laters.

A Wee Chuckle for the day !
Bagpiper at a Funeral
As a bagpiper, I play at many varied events.
Recently I was asked by a Funeral director to play at a graveside service for a homeless man.
He had no family or friends, so the service was to be at a Pauper's' cemetery.
As I was not familiar with the area I got lost and, being a typical man, I didn't stop for directions.
I finally arrived an hour late and saw the funeral guy had evidently gone and the hearse was nowhere in sight.
There were only the Diggers and crew left and they were eating lunch.
I felt badly and apologized to the men for being late.
I went to the side of the grave and looked down and the vault lid was already in place. I didn't know what else to do, so I started to play.
The workers put down their lunches and began to gather around.
I played out my heart and soul for this man with no family and friends.I played like I've never played before for this homeless man. And as I played 'Amazing Grace,' the workers began to weep. They wept, I wept, we all wept together.
When I finished I packed up my bagpipes and started for my car. Though my head hung low, my heart was full.
As I opened the door to my car, I heard one of the workers say,......................
"I've never seen nothin' like that before and I've been putting in Septic Tanks for twenty years."
Apparently I'm still lost....it's a man thing

Hi Everyone Rita sorry your scan has left you feeling so poorly as well as the inevitable worry til you get your results. I am still very wobbly, so only doing a little gardening no gym for the last few days. Managed to go into Wokingham and pay the bills this morning. Also managed to get through to the garbage people as they have left small blue bags on the estate at the start of their new system. No bigger than pedal bin liners and inadequate for a families waste for a week. Now they have to deliver bigger sacks and collect the small ones. What a farce, If I wasn't on the internet I wouldn't have found out. Hopefully some of the older people have others looking out for them.
Went to WW and pleased as I have got rid of another one and a half pounds. Slowly but surely. The class leader was pleased. Now lost 7lb, so I am happier too.
Have a nice evening everyone.
Welcome Carol.

PS Baby grandson has gained again this week, now goes 8lb 9oz

Hello I did not come on as I have not felt well. I had my scan done and they pumped the iodine in my arm I felt a little giddy. they asked me to sit outside for 10 minutes before I went off home. I got home at 11.30 then was sick and had tummy trouble could not eat anything. I did have a cup oif tea. and sat in the arm chair sleeping on and off all the afternoon, the strange thing is under my right eye it has swollen up and it is a light brown colour. I tried using the eye bath to see if it will make any difference.? but it is still the same. so pehaps when I put my eye drops in later tonight it might help. otherwise it looks like a trip to the doctors.
I have to wait now till May 1st before I get the results unless I get a call from the hospital. I dread these scans now. as I seem to be getting after effects I will have to tell the professor when I see him in May.. Thank you for thinking me. Rita x
