Peekaboo............................... Its only me, back at last after the trip from hell. :-| :-| :-|
Left Rosslare on wednesday at 9 pm and arrived back in Guernsey at 12.30 pm on friday. Halfway between Portsmouth and Guernsey there was a fire on the ferry and we had to turn back to Portsmouth, spent the night there and then drove to Poole to catch the fast ferry but had to leave the car behind as there was only spaces for foot passengers :-( Car and luggage supposed to be arriving today.
Had a nice time away although busy trying to sort out a nursing home for my mother-in-law. She is now returning to England and we have found a home for her in Gosport so will be going to collect her from Ireland in a few weeks.
Hope everyone on the thread is well, will catch up with all the news later.
<3 <3 <3 to you all,

Cath xx :-D

Morning Friends !!

I'm sure we will have a sunny day again, the sun is trying to push through.

Linda ...My DIL 's mother knits for premature babies at the hospital, and I'm always looking around for nice clean wool in Charity shops for her, they are so grateful at the hospital for any tiny cardigans & hats.

My Rhododendron is just about to bloom......fantastic fiery red.

Hope you all have a great weekend.....I will be off for a few days on Monday :-D

Speak later. x

Splash Splash Quack Quack

guess what our weather is like ?????? will it every change ? surely there must be enough in the pool to stop banning hose pipes ? who wants to use a hose pipe in their garden with water like this. ?

Well well well . we should have one of these and not need to use water on the plants. lol

other than that I thought it was Mayday Bank holiday this week but I am told I have got it all wrong. silly me.
I will not be going anywhere this weekend with weather like this I will not even bother to go for a walk.

but I hope everyone has better weather than I have here.

Morning all
Dark overcast and wet here yet again. Not going to be a nice day. I think tomorrow is forecast for even worse !!

Spent time with the baby as his Mum isn'y very well, some sort of bug.

He went to hospital on Thursday and is now 9lb 6oz + and they are very pleased with him, but want to check his reflux and have to have a scan to see what is going on. They took the small blankets I had crocheted and the unit was very happy to have them and anything else tiny I can make. So I need to sort out more wool and see if I can find tiny patterns.

Quiet weekend nothing planned certainly no gardening Stephen far too wet down here.

Have a lovely weekend everyone

Fill my flask

'Can you fill my flask with tea please?' asked Casey of the cafe owner.

'Certainly sir,' was the reply.

'Good,' said the Irishman.

'In that case I'll have five cups, two without sugar and three with!!'

Hello everyone, at last I have managed to get onto this thread, have been trying for 4 days, just kept getting the 'error message' so gave up in the end, this is my 5th attempt today.
Stephen, I read your thread about GR, agree with every word. A very belated Happy Birthday to Mrs, Stephen, hope she enjoyed her special day.
Marilyn, sorry you are not feeling well, hope you are soon better.
Rita, hope everything is ok with you and your family and all are feeling better. I dont think men like being at home with nothing to do, hope the operation was successful.
~~~~~~~~~ to everyone, take care and stay safe.
Morning
It was terrible when I got up the weather looked like a winter morning. it cleared then it rained now it is clear again.but still cold. fancy chosing this year to hold the games in this country.
I wish we had not won to hold the games in this country. reason being there has been nothing but complaints about tickets. where they are holding some of the contests.? and people trying to hekkle meetings and people going on strike as they dont want to work extra hoursand one lots gets something extra and so others threaten to strike where will it all end.? On top of the public are going to have trouble using public transport.
It should be a happy event but looks like it could go the other way.
Sorry your not feeling too good Marilyn. there are so many viruses about it could be you have one of these. my firend phoned this morning to say she would not be over . she has a trummy upset and feel giddy and light headed.
My son who had his eye operation saw the consultant yesterday he is pleased with him but said he will be home from work for four weeks maybe 8 so my son is not happy, he hates being home and nothing to do.
well time for a cup of coffee.
see you later
Great fishing spot
The Maguire twins had never known the likes before.
Only two hours fishing and already the boat was full to overflowing with mackerel.
'Begod, we've struck a rare spot here,' said Mick.
'We must somehow try to remember this exact location for future reference.'
'Why don't we put an 'x' on the back of the boat so we'll know it exactly?' ventured Pat.
'No good,' said his brother.
'We may not get the same boat next time!'
Afternoon All.
What a lousy morning, but a nice sunny afternoon.
Just got to wash my barnet before it gets too late. I hate going to bed with damp hair, it is so thick it takes ages to dry with or without a hairdrier.
Have a good evening all, keep warm.
Morning no chnage in the weather ? .still I am around still.
Dermot is on other threads he has a few going himself.
I think most people are getting fed up with the GR site this thread seems to be the worst for getting onto.
I have so many complaints now. I have given up.
I wondered if this new system was given by a young person gathering work experience.? because GR do not seem to care one way or another. it was suppose to be a better system and not many problems it seems to be the opposite.
I am not on as much as I was/ takes too long to get on and your fighting error messages.
anyway have a good day.
A Wee Chuckle for the day
English counterfeiters
Two English counterfeiters had produced thousands of genuine-looking notes - £50, £20, £10 - and really they should have been happy with their lot.
But they want more, so they scrambled through the discarded notes that had not passed close scrutiny.
Among the jumble they came upon a perfectly fine note - watermarked, queen's head in exactly the right place.
The only trouble was that the amount shown was £18.
'Never mind,' said Brown, the bossman. 'We'll unload it when we're over in Ireland.'
And so they took the note with them and, whilst in Kerry, they entered a corner shop to dispense with it.
'Excuse me,' said Brown to shopkeeper Casey. 'Have you got change for an £18 note?'
'Indeed, sir,' said Casey. 'And would you like three sixes or two nines?'
