Good afternoon
Well today has been a day to lift the spirits. Sunny and warm.
Managed the gym and done a couple of hours in the garden too. Hubby cut the grass while I cut back some of the shrubs. It's worth putting out the recycling bin now in the morning. I have lots of scrathes on my arms so look like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards.

Good luck with your checks tomorrow Rita

A Wee Chuckle for the day

On board with Sir Walter Raleigh

The Quinn twins were almost identical except that Pat had one huge eye and one normal one, while Mick had one huge ear and one normal one.

They both volunteered to join Sir Walter Raleigh in his round the world voyage.

'With my big eye, sor, I can see for miles. I'd be ideal in the crow's nest look-out,' said Pat.

'Agreed,' said Raleigh.

'And with my big ear I can hear even the quietest sound,' said Mick. 'I'd be ideal on deck listening for any talk of mutiny.'

So both Quinns were hired and duly the ship set sail.

Three days out, Pat called from the crow's nest.

'Ship on the port bow.'

Raleigh took out his telescope and scanned the horizon - nothing.

'It's there, skipper, believe me,' answered Pat.

Three hours later a tiny speck could be seen through the telescope.

'My God, what amazing sight you have!'

'Yes, and she's a Portuguese man-of-war,' said Pat.

'How do you know that?' asked Raleigh. 'Surely you can't see the flag?'

'No, sor,' said Pat......... 'But my brother can hear them talking.'

Cath.....I really shouldn't have.... but I did.....I nearly pmsl at what happened to you with your car. You should send the details to some Comedy Scriptwriter. As you say it's like something from Monty Python. Hilarious. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) I would be seeking a free ticket for my next crossing from the Ferry Company. Worth a try.

Rita, Make sure you have a lifejacket at hand ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) Hope you feel better soon.

Morning folks,
what a wet, windy and dismal one it is too.
Went to harbour to pick car up yesterday morning and guess what .............................
ferry staff had lost the keys :-P :-P :-P Phoned OH to bring spares and as he arrived ferry sailed out with my car still on board :-|
To say I was angry is an understatement and I will be seeking a written apology and replacement keys at least. Eventually returned at 3.30 and finally got car and all our luggage home. What a performance, it was like something from a Monty Python sketch. The thought of having to travel again in a few weeks is making me shudder.
Am trying to catch up with washing and housework today, a necessary evil.
Still haven't caught up with the thread but hope all the friendlies are well

morning the life boat is standing by. and I have entered it in the logbook for watership surrey.
The car park is under water. an ambulance was called out by a nurse who had come to see to an elderly lady
It came into the car park and water shot up all along it, it reminded me of the water shute at a fair
I have never seen anything like this. we were flooded out once when we lived on the coast in Norfolk.and was on standby to be taken to a rest place.
I never thought I would see so much water in such a short space of time.

My PMR is playing up due to the damp and is very painful. I had about 2 hours sleep last night, taking painkillers as well.

I hope everyone has got better weather.

have a good sunday.

Morning. I wont say good, because it isnt.

Strange that since the hosepipe ban came into place, we have had nothing but rain.

Just sorting out my wellybums for work. I shall have to take clothes to change into. I shall be soaked before I get there regardless of whether I jump on the bus or not.

Hope everyone is well. Cath what a performance.

Have a good day all.

Morning all
Stephen please send us some sunshine. It's so misersble here. I haven't been in the garden for days other than to fill the bird feeders.

No plans for today.

I finished 3 cardigans yesterday Mo, having managed to get wool to finish the front bands of one and sewing buttons on all of them.
I started some tiny hats for the Special Care unit, thanks to some patterns recommended by Jude on another thread.

Well have as good a day as you can everyone

A Wee Chuckle for the day

Getting in for half price

It was England v. Ireland at Wembley.

It may have been at that very match when the two Clancy brothers approached the turnstile.

'How much is it?' said Michael.

Twenty pounds,' said the ticket seller.

'Well, I've only got one eye and so I'm only paying ten!'

And, wonder of wonders, the man let him in.

'And I'm only paying ten pounds,' said Owen Clancy.

'Hang on,' said the turnstile keeper, 'you've got two eyes!'

'Yes,' said Owen,........

'but I've only come to see Ireland.'

Morning All !

What a glorious morning here again. Sunshine. Had to scrape the car though as we had hard Frost last night. I can put up with that as long as the day is nice and sunny :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

I opened the newspaper yesterday to see a few photographs of a chap I know. He was doing some movements on the Parallel Bars and a Trampoline also caught in flight doing a backflip. Looked really good.
He was celebrating his Birthday. Ron is 82......yes 82..... years young..

We met at Gymnastic Competitions years ago and now I feel ashamed that as his Junior in years I haven't had my hands on a set of Parallel Bars for a very loooooonnnnnnggggg time. It would probably break my neck anyway.

More gardening today, it's beginning to shape up well . I'll keep going while I have the drive and enthusiasm ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Nice to have you back Cath. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) Pity things didn't go too well for you :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

To all you lovely folk.......

Have a good day ya all !

Keep well , keep safe , keep smiling :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Afternoon All.

What a horrid day again. I went to the West End this morning. I walked there to give my legs a stretch.

There is a discount book/dvd shop down there. We have loads of videos that need replacing, so I make a point of going down there once a month to see if I can find the titles we need.

Funny how you realise how many of your shoes or boots let water, when it continuously rains aint it?

sees ya
:-D
