Hello George,
I live in a very nice tree lined road, it is very quiet and always has been. I dont know Maida Vale very well. So I cant comment on it. I know Edgeware Road, it goes on for ages. There used to be a very nice shoe shop down there, Italian shoes at a very nice price.
I love the hustle and bustle, and the ability to just jump on a bus or the tube. I lived in the country, and was a slave to the timetable, if they run on time. I think we should agree to differ on this subject. Each to their own.
:-D

Hi Marilyn and Motowngal,
MotownGal, I am from the west end of London, well the Edgware road area, Maida vale, it used to be a really nice part, but go there now and its the pits, in a few years it will be like Southall. Yes, I agree London's skyline may be great, but its at street level is where people live and that is becoming the pits :-( :-(.
Marilyn, yep, Devon is nice ( when it stops raining) LOL :-D :-D :-D :-D only joking :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D Old foggs is away at the moment, should be back this week,
George :-) :-) :-) :-)

Evening All.
Hope everyone managed to dodge the rain today.
Marilyn, you gave me a possible spouse for Sarah Cooper b. 1873 Islington. The fellah Jame Fluin was not to be. Ho hum. Never mind, I do appreciate your time and efforts. Sarah Cooper is a very common name.
Sorry you dont like London George. I live there. I have lived in other parts of the country, and would not live anywhere else.
I can see over the London skyline from my bedroom window, and when it is lit up, it is very pretty. I can see from left to right, Canary Wharf, the Shard, The Wheel, St Pauls, Kings Cross, and most of the West End buildings.
Back to work tomorrow. 14months, 3 weeks, and 6 days. ;-)

Today I am going to do my washing get that out of the way. Hope Pauline is feeling better not in so much pain.

Hello everyone, How are we all. Enjoying the weekend I hope, even though the weather is against us here in Kent, it's nice to get out and meet up with friends for a few hours.
I managed to get on here the first time of trying tonight. It must have something to do with the time of day/evening that we try logging in.
I hope it cheers up this week, as we are off up to Great Yarmouth on Saturday, just for a week, but it will make a nice change to get away from the home environment for a while. Baby Lilly and her mum and dad are coming with us, so lets hope she settles getting to sleep, in a strange place, or I can see me coming home even more exhausted than I am now.
Take care one and all. Mo

Morning everyone Not so bad here this morning. Still grey but dry, looks cold. But not out until later. Think my brother was hoping for a better day as it is his son's 18th family celebration today. We will be off to Windsor after lunch. Hope it's a bit warmer so some can get out into the garden, he has a smallish house !!
Been busy catching up with the ironing all done now thank goodness. Must pot up the tomatoes later as they are getting too big for their current pots, but it's not warm enough to plant them in the greenhouse yet.
Shelly I watched an interesting programme about the olympic stadium and area. I think I remember that your husband is involved in it's building, maybe I saw him ?
Have a lovely day everyone

Morning friendlies, this thread is becoming like a ghost ship :-( I expect the persistent error message is putting people off even trying now. Grey and cold here, rain has stopped for now but I bet it will be back later as I have towels and sheets to hang out. Hope all are well and making the most of the long weekend,
Cath xx

I must admit my bus pass does get me around .....you can jump off and on any bus you fancy, its just like a game ;-) My son said you pensioners got it easy ....oh how he came to that I'll never know , I just had to reminded him that I DID PAY on the buses before I retired......and that he will also when the time comes get a bus pass ... :-S.... grrrrr he only said that because he for the first time had to catch a bus to go to a drinky do in order top get a Taxi home ,and said I was the only one that paid a fare on that bus .....
So I had to tell him a few more woes of tales .. ;-)

I WAS THINKING STEPHEN MUST HAVE USED A CAMPAVAN OR SMALL VAN TO TAKE ALL THAT GEAR WITH THEM AT THE WEEKEND. CANEO. CYCLES. CLIMBING GEAR. FOOD AND HIS WIFE.
WE USE TO USE A LARGE ESTATE CAR WHEN WE TRANSPORTED OUT CANOE'S 2 OF THEM TO THE THAMES AT WEEKEND. AND FOOD AND COOKING UTENCILS. AND JOHN HAD HIS FISHING EQUIPMENT. WE OFTEN GOT REMARKS FROM POLICEMAN AS THEY PASSED US IN THE CAR. YOU FORGOT THE KITCHEN SINK. LOL

Marilyn I did not mean to make the bunting now as it is pretty cheap. whenj I did mine it was for the Scouts and Guides St Georges day years ago about 1960 or there about and you could not get it then . That was why I made mine.they used it for years afterwards right till about 1982.
We had an Empire day and had to dress up.some of the costumes were so funny. I hope yours goes well.
