Morning all friendlies, Maddie the sun is out here too, almost forgotten what it looked like :-D Had a busy week and am looking forward to the weekend and hopefully some peace and quiet. Our son is moving back in for a while so have given the spare room a lick of paint. He is moving in with his girlfriend in September but wants to save some money first. Ah well we had a spare room for almost a month, lol. Son-in-law has broken his foot which is not good as he is a self-employed builder, daughter worried about how they will manage. Stephen glad you had a lovely time with the family adventure :-) Hazel, sorry to hear about your problems and hope something is sorted out for you soon. Hope everyone is well, <3 <3 <3

Afternoon all From a very soggy Berkshire, it has been raining, heavily, all afternoon !
I saw the nurse practitioner this morning. No chest infection just a nasty virus. Advised to buy decongestant drops, take paracetamol and sorry if hubby can't sleep 'cos of the coughing LOL.
Finished a small blue cardigan for new baby(due Sept). And I found buttons in my store box yippee.
Have a nice evening everyone

Afternoon All.
Raining again. lol
Foggy told me to buy the trousers Marilyn, so I will go and have a shufty at them on Saturday. I usually wash my linen inside out, so the colour does not fade in any case.
I have had an ear infection since last Friday, the pain was awful. Got antibiotic eardrops, so get K. to bung them in night and morning. They sting like crazy. :-0 So they must be doing me some good.
See ya later. :-)

I had a giggle at you Marilyn with your remarks you left on Shelleys Thread about £1 a day challenge.
I think people are thinking it is a diet she is doing instead of a bit of fun to see if it can be done.?
If people had to live on what we did during the war, they would not worry about certain items. because you could not get them anyway.lol.
My Dad had an allotment and we had plenty of veggies. but fruit and surgar meat and even bread was hard to come by . My siste and I grew up on it and didnt do us any harm. mind you I would not like to have to do that again. but there are things I cannot afford to buy now. but it does not worry me. I can always find something else..

Morning all,
Its better than yesterday.....its rained ALL day. :-S
So I'm out foooood shopping today as Shelly has done her list I need to get a wee bit more weight off, so out to reduce my fat !! LOL
Maddie....I personally would not buy black linen as I had a pair of crops a couple of years ago in our favourite shop and the black faded.... after washing them they went all wishy washy,so I only wore them around the house.......maybe not all black fades but mine did ! :-S . I'm going in town today I'll go take a look ....
Back later...... :-D

I am going to say MORNING the reason is there is nothing good about this morning so far. It is quiet warm thats a good thing , but we had thunder early this morning and we have a black sky at the moment. not good.
Shelley I saw you thread on joining you eating for a £1 a day.. Good luck with that.
The cost of food is bad and the cost of the cooking like gas and electric we must spent a £1 a day at least with that. I often cook two days meals on one day in the oven to try and cut down the bills.. then I put the other meal in the microwave.the next day.
I managed to renew my senior ciitzens railcard yesterday on line. I was getting worried ? as it had run out last month and I was unable to get to the station to get the renewal card .It was a bit hard following the instructions but I did it and it saved me £2.80 by doing it this way.you save even more oif you do it for three years.
Now I am sorting out all my History papers I have got while doing my family research. I have something like 8 big box files so I thought it was about time I got rid of the papers . I had checked on line for family so far I have a sack of waste paper and will shred that
so wet weather I will not worry I have plenty I want to do.
have a good day.

Morning Maddie and all others Yes it was rough here too. But I've developed a cough and got up too early to give hubby some peace supposed to be out tonight but might have to give it a miss. Guess I need to see the Dr this morning. And I've been lucky so far this winter. Must be something to do with the awful weather.
Have a good day everyone

That was is a suggestion for Shelly. she has to remember she has to buy first. mince potato's. Large tin baked beans cheese. etc then she can live on £1. meals.
I dont eat like that myself Foggy. I eat home made meals and eat lots of fresh fruit and fresh meat.and veggies.
years ago I had a mild heart attack it was about 1970. I had been to a GYM with my friend and felt ill and they called an ambulance I was taken to hospital. after checks I was told I was lucky.I was near a St Johns Ambulance. and been taken straight to the Hospital. I had to go to my Doctors every friday as they put me on a diet It was mostly fresh veggie and salads and little meat no cakes or sweets I lost 2 stone in 6 months, and all my friend thought I was very ill. I looked hagged my husband was worried sick.
so I went on a diet like the things I have put on the menu for Shelley but I did eat alot of salad.I stayed slim and it worked for me. I dont eat big meals now (infact I get told off I dont eat enough )yet I am putting on weight but I have to take 5 steriods tablets a day plus 5 tablets . and it is these that are keeping my weight on.
It is not always what you eat but the size of the meals you have.

Hello again and good evening Rita, Marilyn and Maddie.
Rita, I would starve on your menu, I am a porky and although I don't really eat huge amounts I think I would need more..LOL.
Maddie, not been on holiday, just had some business to sort out, going to have a little break in June. Maddie, just buy the trousers, you know it makes sense..LOL

Good evening All.
Rita, you are very organised with your menus, and the variety is very good. Do you stick to this yourself, or is it just a suggestion for Shelly?
Foggy, nice to see you back, hope you had a good time.
Marilyn, I know you will appreciate this, and I value your advice. I have seen a pair of linen trousers, the same tapered leg ones, in black, a colour I do not have in this style. What should I do? Should I buy them? ~~~~~~~~~~~ to anyone else who joins in tonight.
Batten down the hatches, there is gonna be a lot of rain tonight.................................again. :-P
