Its a beautiful sunny day.....and I'm awaiting Linda to knock on my door !!
Well I am hoping ......LOL

My grandson got air lifted off the Moors last night to hospital....he pulled a ligament in his leg .....caring for some one else that couldn't carry his holdall so my grandson volunteered to carry it as well as all his equipment Etc Ect ....

He's home now on crutches.....but was excited to tell me all about his flight in the Rescue Army Helicopter :-0

So he'll have to do the 10 Tors again next year....he was disappointed as the weather was perfect bet next year it will be snowing !!! :-S

Rita have faith in me I know what its like to not have luxury's in food I was a skinny pin when I was young as we never had that much food, plenty of fish as my grand dad was a fisherman....Oh I could go on ..LOL

Morning all lovely here in Devon once again.
Had a nice day yesterday too. Went to Dartmeet, Totnes and Moretonhampstead. There are so many ponies on Dartmoor. Also loads of sheep and lambs. We also saw cows with calves.
The flowers are beautiful so many bluebells.

Glad to see you popped in Yvonne hope all is well with you. ? I miss Pauline. I hope she is getting on OK I know she has a problem with her back.

The sun is still out, yes still out I cannot beleive it. ? I wonder how long it will be out for ? .I hope it stay nice for the day with everything going on.today.

My sister came back saturday from her trip to Troluous in France and had a heat wave while out there, she said it was so hot she spent some time in the local park with the people who lived round about.. It appears it was like our stay in Luxenbuge when the heat was so bad the tall houses were empty as the heat was killing alot of people off
Hundreds died that week we were there.

We on the other hand have cold and wet weather..

was at work this morning, pretty quiet when we first opened then got busier with people buying outdoor play things and the Babies section have got a sale on this weekend.

OH at work this weekend and son has gone to a friends and he's having another tattoo done.

My grandson is on the moors doing the 10 Tors this weekend if you bump into him tell him to make sure he's nice and warm after sleeping in his tent !...LOL

Its a great sunny day today, so might do some gardening, I have some window boxes as well Maddie ,but this year I just scattered some mixed flowers that I bought in USA , so I have just noticed yesterday that the bl@@dy slugs have had a feast Grrrr :-S

Maddie I love the ecard. made me smile. I needed cheering up. as my son does not drive due to his eye operation I have not seen him since. he can just see to email but we speak on the telephone. and my daughter has not been well. so I have not seen her since begining of April.and my sister is away in France weep weep. so that cheered me up brought a big smile to my face.

Cath Happy birthday to your to Granddaughter hope she enjoys her party.

Maryiln it is harder to shop when you have a list and have to spend a small amount. things seem and are more expensive than when you shop for two people . I know. I come across things that cost a lot less for two people than when I am buying for one person.

We have lovely sunny weather and it is not cold either. I will go for a little walk later just to get out in the fresh air. I cannot walk too far. if there is a seat I sit for a few minutes.

We have got to get the window boxes sorted out this weekend, or we will have no colour this year.

We fancy being patriotic this year, and will plant red, white and blue to commemorate the Jubilee.

Going to be a lovely weekend by the looks of it..................and no work. Yippeeeeeee.

Have a great trip Stephen. We are away too. Hubby took it into his head yesterday to get away while the sun shines. And it certainly is this morning and it did all day yesterday too. We are on the edge of Dartmoor, near Tavistock. Just a short break, back in time for WW on Monday eve.

I'm off to the Isle of Skye, then the Torridon Mountains in Wester Ross and then to the Cairngorm Mountains on the way back. With a couple of Castles thrown in on the journey.

Well I'm already for my task !! LOL

Got all my food .....but It cost me more in petrol in shopping around for the best deals.

Pete is getting worried as he wants to know what he's got for his dinners next week ..LOL

I have 9p left...... and I really want another Jacket potato but I went and asked the assistant on the self service till to give me a price for this potato and she weighed it and it came to 37 p !!!!!!!! I bought 4 for 70p so how does that work out ..

So I put it back ..LOL... I'll have to work on that one...hmm maybe go without and eat my bread & jam up .... :-(

I hope you got all the shopping you need for your £1 a day meals Shelly.?

I went shopping this morning as the weather was so nice.. I have no idea what is going on at our Super Market "Waitrose" since the new manager has taken over. there seems to be a food shortage. the shelves are half empty. but as food come in it cost much more. there are so many small items of food I buy that no long have a shelf life.l I ask nearly everytime i go in if this or that has come in.? and am told no.

I have cut down by half at what I normally buy. and walk around till I find something cheaper but good quality.


I am at the moment working out my research I have folders and folders of names and trees and census, I dont need them, if I sort them out and write on a sheet the little details such as when they were born where and when they married and died, I have a big file that has compartments from A to Z so I hope to get all the trees I have worked on into this and do away with all the other folders.
many are cousins and aunts tree's.I did for them when asked.

I have noticed that many of the familys marriage certificates those who married from 1941 onwards, have some details of My Grandparents and Grandfathers and lists their naval numbers.and what they were in the navy. my mothers younger brother who was in the Royal Mariners ( all my grandfather for four generations back were Royal Marines.) I came across my mother younger brothers number and rank in the Royal mariners. now I am wondering if I can chase his record he was in in 1940 until 1945 served doing the maps etc on board ships. he served in Italy I know that.
I am now trying to find where to start on him,? he was my favourite Uncle. MY grandmother had a big party for him when he was 21..I always remember that the baker made a big book cake with writing on the top which said Happy 21st Bill. and it had a royal Navy badge in icing.

Now I do feel old.

Hi all

Just a update, Appeal letter went off Wednesday so just got to sit and wait to hear from them now. Hope its sooner then later.
Went to my doctor this morninng not happy at all on whats going on, is going to do a letter to benefits so hoping that will help my case. Also i told him about how i have been feeling for the last few months, took my BP its normal low, but its very high, inwhich he said its down to the stress i am under but going to keep an eye on it. I had to have blood test as well, a fasting one lucky for me i hadnt eaten since 8pm last night so had it down same time. Got to go back next week to have BP checked and get result of bloo test.

Nice and sunny on and off here, But very windy tho. But at least its dry. And said its going to be like this over weekend.

Seems we all have a bit of sun today. when I got up at 7 o'clock I could not beleive what I saw ? sun shinning down on me. as I drew back the curtains. little white clouds that look like figures but blowing away from me. now.

My friend left me an email it is fish and chip friday, we have then every three weeks. she pops along and buys them for us. we pay for the fish but get the chips free. being over 60 lol.

Good job you have a spare room Cath when I lived in Nofolk I had three double bedrooms and so I always had family come up for holidays. I use to like that. I dont get that now as I only have one double bedroom and a single. which my sister sleeps in when she comes to stay for a few days.

Linda have you tried a gargle ? I find that is better when you have a sore throat rather than tablets. unless it is throat losengers.

Maddie, looks like you have the same weather as I do. nice makes you feel good. well it does me.

I had a bad nose bleed last night it is the warfarin tablets that do it.. every so often.
I have to phone and make a warfarin blood test for the 25th of this month. also have to have a medical for my perscriptions.

Cold is getting me down sleeping poorly because of cough, and croaky voice, sounds worse than I feel.
