Hi Yvonne. I thought you must be away not seeing anything on here from you recently.
My sister told me she went down to the Thames this morning to St Catherines and St Pauls. she wanted to see the ships and boats that are still there and saw the Queens Gold barge. she said there are so many tourist about it was nice to see them. many are French children with their school teachers.and Italian and Germany . they were all taking photos of the ships and boats on the Thames. I said how nice it was that their tour came in when the Jubilee was on. so they could walk about and see the decorations and boats.
MY Grandson and his wife and three children are on a camping holiday in Devon. poor things they have had so much rain. I bet they will be glad to come home on Saturday.
Only a few more weeks and I will be off to Eastbourne with my sister. I just hope it stays dry if nothing else. I feel I could do with a break at the moment. I managed to limp across and get my shopping, I was out of so many things. but managed to get salad and cerlery and fresh fruit along with milk and bread. and a cake.
:-) :-) :-) :-)

Hello everyone
pleased everyone had a pleasent few days, I didn't see much of the celebrations, saw bits of the concert and the fireworks.
OH and I were at a wedding on Sunday, all very nice, shame it rained most of the day. Yesterday I met my sister at Bluewater shopping centre and had a look round the shops, she bought a couple of tops in Next and I bought a nice cotton top in M&S for my holiday.
Linda Best wishes to your daughter, hope she is feeling better soon
Love to all <3

Spent the eveing with my 2 brothers and their families, my sil had laid on a full Jubilee buffet. It was really tasty but I was worried that I might have put wieght on at WW. Well I was weighed this morning and I had lost anouther pound Yippee !!!!
After that I had to go get my boobs squashed all the ladies will know what I mean.
So I should be sorted for a while.
Raining quite heavily here, so need to dry the washing indoors shame.

Morning Huia when I said they have all gone now what I should have said some have passed on two others have retired.I hear from one in Norfolk every two weeks. Once when I was in London. making a visit to St Pauls I found a memeriol for the Firemen beautiful one near St Pauls and the Bridge it listed the men and women who died in the war and also those who lost their lives fighting fires. it was covered in flowers people had left. I took photos of it and gave them to family and friends in the fire service not one knew that was there..
Jean. I am plodding along thank you. I am waiting for the three month scan appointment to come in.I know I have more spots started.but they are not doing anything about it at the moment. I think my age is against me sometimes. but I will have to hope it slows down for a while. I hope things are going along with you love.I am thinking of you. Stephen it is a worry when they are sent abroad. my Grandson is still in England at the moment. I try not think too much about his next posting. He has just got engaged.
The sun is out here but we have very grey clouds in the distances think they are coming this way. I need to go out as I am low on a lot of shopping I need.. but I am booked in to do my washing at 9 so I will have to go after I have done that.
Tomorrow I am suppose to go to a Strawberry tea given by the Goldsworth Care who take me to all the hospital appointments I have. It is indoors. in The Church Coffee room so we should be alright.. but I have been sneezing for the passed two days. I hope it is not going into a bad cold.
Have a good day.

A Wee Chuckle for the day,
Maurice an 82 year-old man went to the doctor for his physical.
A few days later the doctor saw Maurice walking down the street with a gorgeous young lady on his arm.
A couple of days later the doctor spoke to Maurice and said, “You’re really doing great, aren’t you?”
Maurice replied, “Just doing what you said, Doc: “Get a hot mamma and be cheerful.”
The doctor said, “I did not say that'......... I said,......
“You've got a heart murmur. Be careful.”

Rita, when you said 'we did have firemen but they have gone' I thought of the old joke (was it one my mum quoted from music hall, or something?), poor George, he was a fireman, he has gone to blazes.

Hello friendlies, how are we all.
Linda, I am so sorry to hear about your daughter being so unwell. Thank goodness they have discovered what was wrong, and that she and Sebastion can now be together.
We saw a good friend of ours today, and he was up on the river Thames yesterday, during the Queens visit. He said it was wonderful, and that the firework display they had in the evening was fabulous. Surprisingly, they had no trouble getting back home, and that the crowds were all so amiable. Lucky lucky man, to have been amongst it all, and to have taken in the atmosphere.
Pauline it's lovely to have you back with us. I know I don't come on very often, but you are all in my thoughts.
Stephen, sorry to hear you have been lacking in energy, why didn't you have a few glasses of Irn-Bru that would have helped to pick you up a bit.
No news from Jeniwren today, I do hope she is o.k. Sending you (((((((HUGS)))))) and loads of <3 <3 <3 sweetheart.
Speak to you all soon. Luv Mo

Hi Pauline I like sailors 4 uncles were all in the Royal Marines, one in the Navy one Great Uncle in the Royal Navy. three of my Great Grandfathers were Royal Marines.as well. and I was engaged to a Merchant seaman for just over a year but Guess what ? I married a Soldier in the Royal Fusilers. But one half of the family are army including my Grandfather on Dads side and Dads brother were all regular Army side and i have cousins and a Grandson in the army.. we have three nurses. a Parmedic. five Police offiers.we did have firemen but they have all gone now.
I watched the show this afternoon. I dont think I have ever seen so many people waiting to see the Queen. what a sight she must have seen when looking up the Mall.. I am pleased it is over for her it must have been a real struggle with the age she is. I hope Phillip is soon recovered.
It has rained hard all afternoon. I am pleased it held off for the people in London who went to see our Queen, they got the shower towards the end.
I suppose I better do my salad for my tea.

Afternoon everyone.
We've got lovely sunny weather again but a bit breezy. Spoke too soon............... the sun's just gone in!!
Sorry to see your daughter's in hospital Linda, hope the baby isn't fretting for her. Now that they've found out what's causing the pain they should be able to sort it out.
You had the dustbin men this morning? Didn't think they'd work on a bank holiday, ours didn't.
Rita, you did like the sailors when you were young didn't you? :-D :-D Was John a sailor?
Marilyn, I didn't get invited to any of those celebrations either.......... LOL. Maddie might have been invited though because she lives there. :-)

Morning everyone Our daughter had a better night and is only having paracetamol now for the pain. They have also given her a side room so she can have the baby with her for feeding and not be with other people. She should see a dr this morning will try to get back on later when we have had a chance to see her. Visiting is from 2 and then I am supposed to go to my brothers, I'll see how I am. Really bad head this morning, slept poorly. Not helped by the dustmen coming at 5:30 !!
Loved all the celebrations yesterday. Will try to watch some this morning too. But weather not looking too good for the afternoon though.
Have a good day everyone

No one can say we Brits do things by halves. this weekend has proved it. weather and all elements and it still brought the crowds out.
looking at the show last night from the chair I might add. I wondered how all those people would manage to get home? I stood in that place when VE day was celebrated. the crowds were cheering and singing and dancing in the Mall. I was near the Palace gates with my friend and two sailors we left there at 2 in the morning and had a long long walk. home along the Mall to Marble Arch then to Edgware Road and Cricklewood onto Willesden Lane and the Willesden Hight street Then Church Road Willesden. we had no transport. it was early hours of the morning before we reached home. Sailors and all. lol. My friends mother let them sleep in the bedroom belonging to my friends brother who was in the merchant navy as their ship was due to sail later that day. so it brought back happy memories. it must have been a night mare last night to get everyone away. although I expect some camped out ready for this morning Service at St Pauls.
The one thing that dampened the concert was the repeated reference to the concert being for her Majesty Jubilee. they all got it in. we knew what it was for. why did they all have to mention it.so many times.
I am pleased theyn have found out what the problem is with your daughter Linda. I hope she will soon be up and home.
have a good day everyone.

A Wee Chuckle for the day
Bob was in trouble. He forgot his wedding anniversary.
His wife was really unhappy about that.
She told him "Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in 6 seconds AND IT BETTER BE THERE !!"
The next morning he got up early and left for work.
When his wife woke up, she looked out the window and sure enough there was a box gift-wrapped in the middle of the driveway.
Confused, the wife put on her robe and ran out to the driveway, brought the box back in the house.
She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale.
Bob has been missing since Friday.

Hi All update: Been to see our daughter, scan done..... new diagnosis is pancreatitis, very painful, no treatment, just lots of fluids. She will see a Dr tomorrow, but as she is on a sugical ward? she will actually see a surgeon. But no surgery. We don't think she will be well enough to go away . Had to stop feeding baby for 24 hours as they put iodine into her for the scan. She's quite upset Her partner will have to give baby formulae though she will express to keep the supply up for tomorrow. Just praying that she gets relief from pain and that her body heals itself.
