HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHELLY, you really are our baby , on this thread.
Morning Friendlies Going to say this very quietly The Sun Is Shinning !!! Have put some washing on hopefully will hang it out and it should blow dry.
Tried to get some wool yesterday in our village shops................... no luck. My usual shop has no white !!! their agent is in hospital, having a hip replacement. The other shop has very little no double knitting to speak of and no white 3ply to make a shawl for the new grandson either. So today we will try Wokingham and hopefully get some wool otherwise I might start biting my finger nails again!!
Hope everyone has a lovely day especially our birthday girl and that the sun shines and you can sit outside and do nothing but have everyone wait on you all day. Can't see that happening, to be honest. You'd be bored Shelly!!

Morning All !
Wet and windy here this morning. :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P
What ever happened to 'Flaming June' ? :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S :-S
Cath ......What a nightmsare. A little water can do a lot of damage.I hope you haven't lost anything precious. Although we are safe from flooding where I am I have a drainage channel protecting the property from the run off on the hill.
Window Cleaning ! Get ours done every month. Hardly ever see the chaps. I leave their money on a window ledge in a poly bag.....when it's gone I know they have been. I then leave more cash for their next visit. Works a treat.
Rita....you sure wear out your keyboards.....you'll need to get one with the letters engraved on it ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Putting the final plans in place for our yearly sailing holiday. Although we plan a trip we are flexible and just go with the flow , so to speak , we change things to suit the wind and tides. And we always try to visit our favourite places as well as seeking out new spots to anchor. St.Kilda is on our list for a visit this year. The weather has to be good for that trip out into the Atlantic.
Have a good day ya all !
Keep well , keep safe , keep smiling :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Cath that's my worst nightmare ...being flooded...... I feel for you. X
I'm out of the forest area only to stay in a motel for the night ,but back into the forest area today.
I'm off now so may not get on for a few days........no big bears yet ...mind you I'd run a mile with fright if I saw one , I'm at my wits end in this forest keep looking around we are told to make noises to let the bears know we are here....we did stop in a small cafe and I asked the owner are there any bears in and around here ,,,,she said YES there is a mother bear with her two cubs in the back yard ,but they wont bother you as they are well and truly sleeping only coming out at night ...boy that snack went down and nearly choked me as I ran for the car for safety ..!! Oh Pete does take me to the most dangerous places !! I'm going to choose the next one ..on Brighton beach ..LOL

Morning Friendlies Back from the gym. Hubby makes ! me go you know. But at least we try to make it 3 times a week. Dry here at the moment. But not looking promising. Sorry to read of the flooding Cath, good job you were back home. Off for a shower then out to get a few bits from the shops.
Our grandson has finally been discharged by the consultant at the hospital, so no more checks for him, his mum is so pleased. She has an MRI herself at the begining of July to check her pancreas, but seems to be doing relly well.
Have the best day you can everyone

Morning Friends.
Thank for the glass of Bailys Pauline thats my favourite and I dont drink only at a wedding or Christmas then only one glass.
Cath how awful for you getting flooded out like that. trouble is everything smells musty afterwards have you noticed ? I hope you get it all sortef through the insurance.
Pauline I think these people who clean windows have an excuse because the Health and Safety have guide lines they must not use ladders but hoses. I live on the ground floor and could reach my windows without ladders. they make you jump when they come as you hear a gush of water smashing against your windows. does no one take pride in their work these days. it all seems geared to the word Money Mo you are right they dont even bother to wipe the windows afterwards.
I had to smile when the elderly man in the flat above me, whose wife went to hospital for a scan was driven back in an ambulance after having breathing difficulties after her scan. A few minutes afterwards they had to call for an ambulance who came examined her and sent for another emergency ambulance who took her off to hospital lights flashing. He told me the hospital didnt think that him and his wife should be living without help; they have two flights of stairs to go up and down. he is losing his sight and also is diabetic she is in her 90's. so they took details down and asked if they had a warden? . no a sight manager who worked a few hours in the mornings.? when asked who the Trust was where they lived. when he told them they said it has the most flats and houses and has the worst record . I said every hospital I have been in have told me the same. it has a bad record. I am not putting the name on here for a good reason. but in this day and age you would think these trust who say they care for the elderly would be worried to have a record like this. Poor man is worried what will happened to them. they are so independant .
well weather not good rained during the night dry at the moment but very cloudy.
time for toast and tea. have good day.

Will have to get on to our insurance company and see what to do. Firemen came to help us pump it out after they had done next doors house which was worse than ours.

Morning all.
I've been a bit busy the last few days........... Wednesday I had company, yesterday I was at my aunt's and today I'm helping my niece move house. Well, I'm not really helping, I'm just making the coffee and giving instructions.
Thank you for the birthday wishes everybody and the lovely cards, you're very kind. Mo, I couldn't put any cake in the cyber hatch because nobody made me one. But I did get a few bottles of 'Baileys', so I've stuck a bottle of that in the hatch.......... help yourselves to a glass, ladies (and gent).
Rita, my window cleaner does the same as yours, he sits in his car and waits for a break in the rain, then runs round cleaning the windows and jumps back in the car before the rain starts again.
By the way, the rain's stopped and the sun's come out, not sure how long it'll last though.
Yvonne, I didn't plant my foxgloves either......... they just appeared one year and never left.
Jean, that's a lovely photo of Scarlett, she's growing up fast.
I bet Marilyn has a big black bear for her avatar when she comes back.... :-)
Hope you all have better weather today, haven't looked at the forecast yet but I've got a feeling this sunshine won't last long.

Oooh at last, I have managed to get onto the thread. I kept trying yesterday, but it would not let me on.
Pauline I hope you had a lovely birthday. But where's our piece of cake, I looked in the cyber hatch, and it's not there, I hope you didn't eat all of it. lol
Like everyone elses weather, it's been tiddling it down all day, thoroughly miserable. We popped up to town quickly, for something for lunch, and came straight back home again. If I sit down for much longer, without getting any excercise, my BTM is going to spread even further. This weather makes me feel like a caged animal, wanting to get out and about but cant.
Rita, I think your window cleaners are getting money for old rope. How the heck can they see if your windows are clean, if it's raining. Saucy monkey's are taking the mickey out of you all.
Hope to get back tomorrow to see you all. Luv Mo

very wet here big puddles wherever you go. I am staying in. Guess what the window cleaners arrived with their hoses. and washed the windows down. I ask myself WHY do they wait till it is raining ? or we have had heavy rain before they come to dose the windows with their hoses.?Think I have the answer ? they dont have to wipe the water off the windows afterwards. takes them about half an hour to do all the windows on 25 flats only two stories high.
I will not say what they get for that. but it is a lot of money. do people not take pride in their work these days?
well morning to you all have a good day if you have rain keep dry. if you have sunshine make the most of it.

A Wee Chuckle for the day
I bumped into an old school friend today. He started showing off, talking about his well paid job and expensive sports car. Then he pulled out a photo of his wife and said, "She's beautiful, isn't she?" I said, "If you think she's gorgeous, you should see my wife." He said, "Why? Is she a stunner?"
NO ! She's an Optician.
