Morning everyone,
Belated birthday wishes to Shelly, hope you had a lovely day and got spoilt rotten. My children are already planning a big party for my 50th in 2 years
:-S :-S :-S I hope they forget about it as I am trying to, lol.

Still trying to sort out insurance claim for flooding. A carpenter has had a look and said that all the base units will need replacing as they have swollen up and started to split. Waiting for an assessor to come have a look.

Welcome back Marilyn :-D
Hope all the friendly thread are well,

Morning Jean............. and everyone else as you get here.

The floods have receded this morning and I can see my patio again. Luckily I don't live on low land so it wasn't that bad for us. A 10 minute drive down the road it was so bad that cars were totally under water.

Lovely breakfast, Jean, thank you, I'll have some of everything.............. because I'm a hog.

Morning everyone, at least those not on holiday with no access !!
It was a damp start, but I risked putting on a wash. Glad I did as it is outside and almost dry.
Just spent more time in the garden tidying up. Hubby cut the front grass. So looks nice and neat out there.
Have completely finished the baby's cot blanket it looks great, rainbow colours so should also brighten his room.
Started a shawl for the baby due in September, haven't done this pattern for 33 years so it is a challenge and in 3ply wool so very fine too.
Have a great day everyone

Morning all............ it's raining again.

We know you aren't looking out for 'some old guy', Rita, It's a young one you're after...... as usual. :-D

Hazel, you must have been under a lot of stress with all the worry of no money coming in. Pleased to see it's starting to get sorted now.

Huia, it seems that a lot of people who are genuine invalids are losing money while the powers that be are trying to find out who the work shy ones are.

Sounds like Scarlett is going to take after her gran, Jean.

Marilyn, great to see you posting again, have a safe journey home. I didn't know that Shelly was trying to have a party at your place............ must have missed that. Mind you, I should have known, she's always up to something when you go away.

Linda and Stephen are a bit late today.

Hello all, just looked in to see how everyone is.
Hazel, so sorry to read about all the problems you are having with getting your money sorted, wonder why these things take so long, dont the departments realise that you have to live and pay your bills. Just a thought, have you been in touch with the Welfare Rights office, they are usually helpful.
Rita, I hope the weather is kind to you in Eastbourne, never been there, is it nice?
The weather has been lovely here today, got lots done in the garden but am very tired now, Scarlett was bathed and fast asleep by 7 o'clock, she is a real little outdoors girl.
Well I will wish you all Good night, God bless,
Sweet dreams, may you have a peaceful night.

Afternoon all.

It's very warm today but dark and wet............ again!

I'm getting sick of all this rain.

You must be getting better weather than us, Jean, if you can sit in the garden. Make the most of it while you've got the chance.

I liked that one, Stephen.

Linda, your daughter will get more confident as time goes by. But you're right............. we just had to get on with it.

Where are you going for your holiday, Rita? Hope you have a lovely relaxing time.

Morning everyone,
Cloudy here, but at least it is dry and warm, had breakfast in the garden this morning, Scarlett's idea not mine. lol.
Linda I do hope your daughter is feeling beter now, and baby is settled again, I dont envy young parents today, there is too much worrying information and scary reports in the papers out there about babies health.
Rita I hope you can keep your case reasonably light, have a great holiday, rest and relax.
Wish you all a good day, take care and stay safe.

Morning all
Sunny and humid here this morning showers forecast for later.
Got the last plants in yesterday.
Had to go to daughters yesterday, she has a heavy cold and the baby was fractious, hot and unsettled. Mum and Dad to the rescue. How did I manage on my own....... oh I just got on with it. Still thats what Mums are for isn't it. They were both fine after we had lunch with them. Too much information out there and they are so worried that they will miss a serious illness. Yes it happens but rarely.

Rita I hope you manage your packing OK and it is light enough for you to manage. Have a great holiday.

Have a good day everyone

Morning Stephen

I have all my windows open it is a lovely morning sunny with a gentle breeze
I had a good laugh with your giggle this morning Stephen. I dont know where you get them from but they are funny.

I am just going to have my breakfast. then I need to sort out what I am taking on my holidays. It must be nice when you have a car and can throw everything in but when you have to have a case and travet by train it is a nightmare to try and keep the clothes down.
I have to pull the case so try to make it as light as I can.

We seem to be getting less and less on the thread must remember to shower more often lol

Have a good day Stephen and anyone else who comes on later.

A Wee Chuckle for the day

A helicopter carrying passengers suddenly looses engine power and the aircraft begins to decent.

The pilot safely performs an emergency landing in water, and tells the passengers to remain seated and to keep the doors closed, stating that in emergency situations, the aircraft is designed to stay afloat for 30 minutes, giving rescuers time to get to them.

Just then a man gets out if his seat and runs over to open the door.

The pilots screams at him, "Didn't you hear what I said, the aircraft is designed to stay afloat as long as the doors remain closed?!".

"Of course I heard you", the man replied, "but it's also designed to fly, and look how good that one worked out!!"
