Hi Jean and Huia and Linda
It has stayed very warm and sunny here. the gardeners came and cut the lawns at the back and front of the estate. I hate the smell of the petrol they leave.but it is nice to see the lawns looking so nice. but for how long. the rains comes and the grass grows quickly.
Linda your off again ? where to this time ? is Marilyn away again ? I cannot keep up with all these people and their holidays. wonder where that Pauline is ? sun bathing in her back garden.
I walked across to the shop this morning. and brought a few articles. and stolled back.. I brought myself some ices.as well.
My son has to go to a busniess meeting in London this week. I said you had better be careful all the pick pockets will be out in force with so many visitors..

Morning all, we have a mixture of sun and showers here, think it is in for the day. so looks like a day of playing games with Scarlett.
Still having some problems with GR, takes ages to get onto site, and still occasionally getting the error message.
Hope you are all ok, anyone going on holiday, enjoy your break.
Not looking forward to the Olympic Games, suppose every tv station will be showing them. Oh well, will catch up with my reading.
Take care and stay safe, Jean xx :-) :-) :-)

Good morning to you Rita. I have been on FB adding more of my photos of my 1997 trip to England. I think I have done enough of that for tonight. I am now flitting around the boards here, then I will start to think about bed.
Huia.

Stephen do you think we will get a weather window ? I think the weather has gone barmy you get up at 5 in the morning it is light and bright and the sun then comes out and carry on till 8.30 when it goes to bed. if we could turn nights into Day and days into nights we would have a good summer.
Morning everyone. well we are very short on this thread now. I think people have gone onto FB as they get a better service on there so it seems and from what I have been told.?
So the Olympics have arrived and what do we find. all the planning all the money spent and the excitment was done nothing ? The people in charge must have looked at the money rubbed their hands and left the rest to chance.? The Government having to put troops in place of the people who were suppose to be guarding others made a B out of it. and now it appears they may even have to bring troops back from abroad as they are that short.. funny how we suddenly need these troops at a time like this but we dont when it suits the Government. Once again Money talks.
sorry I get so angry the way these things go.. I think the organisers should give back the money they have received. they certainly have not earned it.
Now getting back to where have the Friendlies gone ?? any ideas.

A Wee Chuckle for the day A guy is passing a Prison surrounded by a high wall and he hears chanting from inside,
Thirteen! Thirteen! Thirteen!
Curious to see what’s going on he finds a small hole in the wall, so he bends and peeks inside.
Someone inside pokes him hard in the eye and everyone inside starts chanting,
Fourteen ! Fourteen ! Fourteen !

Morning Rita Yes I loved it last night. My nephew is off to university in September and music is a favourite subject. I hope he can join a music group when there. One of the other boys there has won a scholarship to Eton College at 16 yrs old and also leaves this summer so the jazz band and wind band will be short of 2 leading lights next year.
Off to do the laundry now

Morning
glad you enjoyed the concert last night Linda.I often think the young people play as well as some of the professionals. It seems more and more young people want to play in the school bands
I have a great Niece she is 14 and plays The Bassoon and the piano and gets high marks all the time in her music tests. I wonder if she will make a career out of it ?.That I am not sure as she is top of her class for many of her subjects
It has been raing here during the night , but it is very warm. I am doing my washing this morning. I dont have a problem with the drying as we have a comercial dryer in out Laundry room
I hope everyone has had a good weekend ? I am always pleased when that goes. I perfer the week days.

Morning Stephen and everyone else Raining again !! Now there's a surprise. Must do some washing, but not sure how it will get dry. Maybe I should put the heating on ?? It's cold enough. Had a great time at the jazz club last night listening to the youngsters, they played really well. Personally Ithought they sounded very proffessional, not at all like school bands have in the past. They enjoyed playing in a more relaxed setting, instead of the ususal school halls and even Wellington School chapel. Well have a good day everyone

A Wee Chuckle for the day
This man comes through a door to the bar and slipped on a pile of cr*p, he mumbles and brushes himself off. He orders a drink and sits down.
A few minutes later a younger man walks through the door and he slips on the pile of cr*p. He gets up and looks around, and then he sits down next to the older guy.
The older man says, "I did that!"
The younger man punches the old man and leaves.

Evening folks, been a lovely sunny but windy day here today, so finally got started on painting the outside of the house. We seem to have had so much to do lately, its been never ending. New dog is arriving on the 27th of this month (hopefully). She is a fawn colour and only 15 months old, bet shes a livewire lol. We are calling her Roxy. It will be lovely to let them both off the leads on the beach and let them have a good runaround. Rita I'm glad you are feeling better, you had us all worried. Time for tea, just fish and chips today as we are too tired to cook. Maybe a nice cold beer to wash them down, we've earn't it today. Hope all the friendlies are well and enjoying some sunshine, <3 <3

Good afternoon Well we don't have the sun or warmth that was promised for today !!
Yesterday was wet wet wet. We were at our son's for a street BBQ and music, like a mini Woodstock. Well it was jhust like Glastobury or The IOW festival in that everywhere was sodden and covered in Mud. But a good time was had by all and plenty of cover overhead with tents and gazebos doing us proud, even if very soggy underfoot. Amazing fireworks and a street bonfire so big the firebrigade returned even though they had been to entertain the children in the afternoon.
Off to listen to my niece and nephew playing in a jazz pub this evening, so out again.
Have a lovely afternoon everyone

Morning
sunny here are we lucky ????? I phoned my daughter last night. I was worried about her journey home from Weymouth. they have had a terrible week nothing but rain but wellies on and macs and they managed to get about. They managed to go and see the Anzac memorial I had told them about, which our hotel had overlooked. when we were down that way. It only took them two hours to get home and they stopped on the way home.
My Great Granddaughter Megan had her prom yesterday . I saw some photos of her in her little pink ;lace dress and her tiara. how she has grown. her father had been working to decorate the hall with other to make it look special.
Jean glad you got out for a few hours. it is so glooming when you get nothing but rain. I get fed up being indoors and not being able to get out. You dont realise how hard it is when people cannot get out as they have no car to go and hop in and go somewhere. when it is raining it is even worse. Sometimes I dont see anyone for a few days . week ends I feel shut in and wished I was back in Norfolk. I could walk along the cliff or walk along the beach. always met someone to speak to who was a resident or on holiday
Hope everyone is keeping as well as they can in this weather.. and have a good sunday. just thought it is St Swithuns today so expect more rain.

I'm not asleep, I've just logged on.
Stephen, I hope you have a good groundsheet, you'll need it to keep the dampness out. If you camped out round here your tent would be covered in slugs and snails by morning.
We're losing control of our garden because it's been too wet to work in and the weeds are starting to take over.
I wonder if we'll get a summer this year.

Hellooo friendlies, how are we all. Another orrid day here, it's been tipping it down all day. Part of our garden, by the shed, had great big puddles, big enough for the ducks to land on.
This coming Friday, the Olympic torch hits our area. They are closing my sons road off, so the day before, he will have to try and park else where, or he wont be able to get Lilly to nursery, and work for himself.
Jeni, I am pleased that the weather held for you to get out for a while, knowing how much you enjoy the peace and quiet. Did Scarlett enjoy herself?
Shelly, surely little legs is not old enough for school yet, only you said about his uniform.
Really fed up with myself, it's sooo boring being stuck in the house, looking out at the pouring rain. Speak to you soon folks. Luv Mo
