Crawls onto thread on hands and knees, lol.

Blimey, I do feel cheated, about you lot being retired! It aint fair!!!!!!!!!!

You know what they say about Martini, Marilyn, Anytime, Any Place, Anywhere! ;-)

I used to drink Martini years ago. I thought I was very sophisticated, mixed with lemonade!!!!

Got a three day weekend off, so whoooop whoooop. Probably gonna go down the West End to see what they are giving away.

Hope everyone is well.

Rhubard Crumble !

Think I'll nip down to Marilyn's for tea.

I'm thinking more along the lines of non-alcoholic drinks.

Alcohol and me don't get on very well.

One drink and I'm anybody's.

Two drinks and I'm everbody's :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

And if I do have a wee dram or two it's only Laphroaig Malt Whisky from the Island of Islay.......... Magic !.

Morning everyone
Back for a bit. Been to hubby's cousin for a few days, near Worthing. Then to a friends 65th celebration party also in Worthing. So made a mini break of it.
Sunday was the baby shower for our DIL. She had so many gifts. I find it hard when you get something for babies not yet born. Gave a 2nd blanket, toiletries, teething ring, feeding aids and scatch mitts.
Yesterday hubby decided to take advantage of the good weather( haven't had enough this year) and we ended up in a village of his ancestors, in their church and a walk round the graveyard...... but none of our headstones found. Then into the New Forest a favourite area for both of us.
Today we have been called to help with our grandson as he isn't sleeping at night and our daughter is exhausted !!! Good job we have retired and hubby is tolerant. When ours were young I just had to get on with it when hubby was at work. Oh well that's what Mum's are for.

I hope you are feeling a bit better Rita.
Good luck for today Jean and I hope the injections hurt less than you thought.
Huia I hope your summer comes quickly when you have your head shaved.

Hope Pauline is OK

Sending best wishes to everyone else.

Not saying it too loud but I'm OK at the moment.

Morning everyone, hope you all had a peaceful night.

I should have started my chemo injections yesterday but I had a bit of a stomach upset over the weekend so I start today, at 11 o'clock. Didn't sleep very well so am up and dressed and ready to go, though not looking forward to it, dont like injections.

Stephen, thank you for making me laugh with this mornings chuckle. :-D

Rita, sorry to hear that you are feeling ill because of your tablets, maybe you should have a word with your GP, or if you have a MacMillan nurse contact her and get some advice.

Hope all our 'friendlies' are well,~~~~~~~~~~~~
Take care and stay safe, hope you all have a good day.
Jean xx :-) :-) :-)

Marilyn, I havent lost my hair yet. The boss wants to wait until we move into the new shop so it will be in October. I am thinking mid-Oct. so that we are all settled in. I am meeting one of the Hospice Marketing managers tomorrow. She will be making some sponsor forms for me and I hope she will make some posters to put up in a few places around town.

A Wee Chuckle for the day.

When Ted was putting flowers on his Grandmother's grave he noticed a man, very distraught, in front of a tombstone several yards away.

The man was on his knees, hands tightly clasped in front of him, rocking back and forth, head tilted upward to heaven, tears streaming down his cheeks, moaning softly, "Why did you die? Why did you die?" Over and over again.

Ted was overcome with emotion at this sight and went over to the poor man to try and console him.

"Why did you die? Why did you die?" bellowed the man again and again.

Ted gently put his arm around the man and half whispered to him, "My Grandmother is buried just over there. Is a loved one of yours buried here?"

"No," sniffled the man, "It's my wife's first husband."

Morning All !

It's lovely here :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Rita, If your feeling giddy taking those tablets trying washing them down with water NOT WHISKY ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) I'm sure that's the cause of the problem,

Seriously.....I hope you get things fixed out soon, it must be terrible not knowing what's going on with your body when you take medication.

Where is our lovely Jean ?

Pauline has been AWOL for ages now.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cath......Enjoy your rest from being an after school carer.I see and hear of so many Grandparents who's lives have been restricted by the same thing. Long gone are the days when children were cared for by just their parents. My wife and I have been spared from that. I suppose we should be thankfull that they need only our SIL to work full time while our daughter runs her business to suit family life..

So many parents struggle to keep things going on a daily basis and if there is no one to share the burden of child care it becomes a nightmare. And for single parents the situation gets worse.

Have good day ya all !

Keep well , keep safe , keep smiling :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

I dont know how Jean is getting on with her cancer injections > but the tablets I am taking are making me feel ill. I find I am giddy and have all sorts of problems. I go back next Tuesday Week to the hospital for a check on how things are going
I am on the lower dosage at the moment and I am suppose to double it soon. I think it will be bye from me if that happens.

The sun is shining and it is warm. my daughter and husband are in the Isle of wight.

On 5th of this month my Granddaughter Stacey is having a major bowel operation she is not yet 40 years old. please remember her in your prayers. she has three small children.

I have had a busy day today. I went to town, had some photos printed, spent the afternoon working in the Hospice shop, did a bit of shopping, had my dinner in town, then went to the next town to join a camera club. I arrived home about half an hour ago. I am tired but I will probably have trouble sleeping thinking about my day. I have taken half a sleeping pill so will go to bed soon to try to sleep.

Morning Stephen

I think your right. we are getting less and less response to this poor thread. a year ago we were full of friends leaving messages now we are at rock bottom.

I know most of us have a problem getting onto the thread, as like most you either waite ages or give up. I have done both.

Thr sun is out. I am doing the weekly wash, but feel tired and have a dry throat among other things due to these chemo tablets. I seem to be getting one thing after another pop up.

hope you enjoy your day Stephen and anyone else who pops in.

A Wee Chuckle for the day

An obnoxious drunk stumbles into the front door of a bar and orders a drink, the bartender says,

"No way, buddy, you're too drunk."

A few minutes later, the drunk comes in though the bathroom. Again he slurs, "Give me a drink," and the bartender says, "No, man, I told you last time -- you're too drunk"

Five minutes later the guy comes in though the back door and orders a drink, again the bartender says, "You're too drunk"

The drunk scratches his head and says "Dang, I must be.

The last two places said the same thing."

Evening friendlies,
been a cloudy warm day here.
Have had an ongoing problem with our new boy "Dylan". He arrived with fleas despite being treated and for the last 3 weeks we have spent a fortune at the vets trying out just about every possible remedy i.e sprays, insecticidal shampoos, powders, tablets, flea combs and injections :-S Finally today we have not discovered a single flea on him, poor boy must be fed up with us poking through his fur every 5 minutes :-) Have boil washed all his bedding, toys and sprayed the whole house so fingers crossed. His skin was infected from the bites and he was losing patches of fur too, he must feel as relieved as we do lol.
Bought a new bench for the garden today and some lovely orange pansies. Hopefully with all the grandchildren at school from tuesday I will have more time to spend pottering. Can't quite believe it will be the end of the school run for me 25 years and now I'm free :-D :-D :-D Every afternoon to do as I please, yippee.
Hope all have had a nice weekend and are well,
