Got a feeling this one might have been mentioned before, if we haven't I'll be surprised. |

Pearl harbour........... definetly a film aimed at teenage girls, with a "We won the war single Handed "approach for the yanks...... all I loved about that film was the sountrack/theme tune by Faith Hill, otherwise i found it so TOTALLY unbelievable.... remember eldest daughter seeing it and falling completely in love with Ben Affleck, she must have been about 14 at the time...... |

Oh dear who votes for that kind of crap...sorry but it is. |

Yes Pam, it was ET - a film that I think was over-exposed, over-hyped and over-rated. Would have got nowhere if it hadn't have been directed by Spielberg. |

Just watching the countdown on E4 and the film currently on is "To Kill a Mockingbird" with Gregory Peck. |

Yes Ed I've seen it too, but can't remember the one that was voted number one...it wasn't ET was it? I seem to remember not agreeing either. |

Thanks for your post Pamela, I must confess that ' It's a Wonderful Life ' is one of many films that I've heard such rave reviews said about it, but I've never seen it. I'll deffinately make a point of watching next time it's on. James Stewart is in it I believe and I have the jist of the story line. |

It's a Wonderful Life has to be one of the most uplifting films for anyone who has ever wondered if their life had any significance. As individuals, we are all connected to one another (as anyone who has visited Genes Reunited will verify). The films shows how the smallest of gestures can make such a difference to the life of A.N. Other. A great film that I watch annually - especially at Christmas. Yes it's an oldie but the subject remains eternally valid. |

Hi Lynda, The London Nobody Knows thread is good isn't it...fancy Ed bumping into his cousin. I was born in the capital, St Pancras, long while ago though and don't get there very often. But try to do two or three trips a year with the daughter ' to do the sights.' :0) |
