Hi all, I'm going to have to google Janet Munroe, Roy, and fancy that she liked a drink too. I don't drink much, easily get drunk! Don't smoke either ...bit boring really!! ha ha!

Hey it's just come to me...Darby O'Gill and the little People, gosh that brings back memories as I remember being taken to see it when we lived in Glasgow (yes we got about!) by my older cousins. when the Banshee came on it frightened the sh*t out of me and I had to be taken out of the Cinema, my cousins never let me forget how i ruined it for them. Sean Connery was in it too as I recall. I can watch it now and don't get frightened!!

Was Janet also married to Mat Munroe the singer (former bus driver) was she the daughter of Thora Hurd ?

Another goody and an oldie... Clarke Gable and Claudette Colbert in "It Happened one Night".

I don't really do the oldie films.I think I do maybe have an odd sense of humour.I loved The Bird Cage.With Robin Williams and Gene Hackman.

She was married to tony Wright from 1956-59.

Married Ian Hendry in 1963 and they had two children. Divorced 1971 and she died on the 6th Decemver 1972. Her ashes are interred at Golders Green Crematorium.

Trivia...

Laurence Olivier was the husband of the actress who played Scarlett O'hara in Gone With The Wind.

The marriage was failing then, I read she was "ill" Her boy friend Ashley in Gone With The Wind acted superbly as Percy in The Scarlett Pimpernel. His adversary was Raymond Massey who went on to star as the head of Blair Hospital in the TV epic that also starred Richard Chamrline (sp)

Ah yes David Viviene Leigh, beautiful actress.

Here's a little bit of trivia, when I was very young my dad did a stint as a taxi driver for a private company. I remember him telling me how he'd taken Larence Olivier and his then wife to a psychiatric hospital in Surrey, I remember the name of the place, there were many hospitals in that area. Dad said it was so sad to see this really beautiful actress in obviously such a terrible state of mind.

One of his favourite films with her in was, Waterloo Bridge, also with Robert Taylor.

PS Yes David...and i reckon he fancied the young actor who played Mr Sloane something rotton!! Peter something...can't for the lifr of me think of his name, but I can see his face.

I have mentioned this film before, it starred John Mills, Carol White and a young Stuart Wilson...."Dulcima", from the novel by H.E. Bates, it's very rarely shown on the telly. It's a lovely film with a very surprising ending! I have it on DVD and video and have to watch it every so often or i get withdrawel symptons...that and lots of other films too! It was made in 1971, and it's about a young country girl who keeps house for a tight fisted old farmer who lives alone (John Mills) and the country girl (Carol White) falls for the young game keeper (Stuart Wilson). If it's ever shown on telly do watch it, it's a good one!
