Thank you all for your prayers and kind thoughts.

The power of prayer certainly works.

After having a morphine drip on for 12 hours there was little if no improvement, but what a difference 24 hours makes, last night she was sat up ( no rocking in pain ) had eaten her tea and asked my why I hadnt taken our puppy in to see her. I left with a list of items she wants me to take today ( including her cigarettes) she said she will get dressed today and take a little walk.
At last she is pain free and comfortable.

Fantastic, thanks to all of you.
Ann

Ann, I recently saw my friend through this same scenario, trial and error, but she was able to go home with better pain relief and lots of loving care from family and the Marie Curie/Macmillan nurses. She had her 59th birthday with her family round her altho sadly lost her battle a little while after.

Also my Dad was at a hospice for a couple of weeks, respite care and a little treatment and pain monitoring, which gave him a few more weeks including Christmas and his 44th Wedding anniversary to share with Mum, so I hope the staff at the hospice can help your dear Mum to get the pain relief she needs and the rest too, to give her some more time with you all. It is very hard to watch our loved ones suffer when we can't help at all, so I wish you all strength to cope with supporting your dear Mum while you say all you want to tell her.
Will be thinking of you, and your Mum.

Another bad night for mum, no sleep and lots of pain, her medication is being reviewed ( again ) by the doctors today, I know it is all trial and error, but as every day goes by she is getting weaker bless her.
I know you are all praying for her, so I thank you, but please continue

Mum has had a very bad day today, and they have put her on a morphine drip, which is slow release, but takes some time to get into her system properly.
My husband went to see her this afternoon whilst I was at work and he came home very distressed. I rang the hospice at teatime, and spoke to mum,she said she was too weary and tired to see me, as she just wanted to sleep. So i havent seen her tonight.

Jean thank you for your poem it is beautiful, and I can hear mum saying the words.

Mum is only 77 years old, but cancer has no respect for age, At least she made 77 so many sufferers dont

Good night to you all, thank you for your kind words and prayers

God bless
Ann

My love and prayers to you and your family,Ann
I felt a strength in your mothers words of her deep faith, I would like to share this poem with you,I feel it would be the sort of thing she would say....

If I should go..
Anon

If I should go tomorrow
it would never be goodbye,
for I have left my heart with you,
so don't you ever cry,
the love that's deep within me,
shall reach you from the stars,
you will feel it in the heavens,
and it will heal the scars...
