I have been a member from 2003, I love this site and the people, I don’t post much but look in most days. I have had some great help from members and would never have got as far with my tree on hear with out this site.

Hi still here and staying although I did not post much because ther did seemm to be a bit of a closed shop hierarchy so I i for one am pleased still op see some of the old friendly one s around

I'm still here but probably posting less and I think it's mainly because of all the bickering that I come across. Drives me mad.

I don't make any distinctions between anyone - don't care which "faction" if any they are in. I'll chat to anyone. Only exceptions being the 3 people on my blacklist - and they are there because of their rudeness when I've been helping out on TTF or Records of whatever.

And yes, odd name changes I'm not keen on - but then with some of the funny board names I have no idea of most of the real names.

Thanks for putting this thread up Marion:-) Maybe it will clear the air. I agree with Robin about the warring factions and the multi account holders. I really DO like to know who I am "talking" to, and when there is a new name I haven't seen before,I can't always be bothered to check their number...I would only forget it anyway! lol., I am comfortable with familiar names and folks I have seen posting, that's why I think Jean's thread 'Introductions' is such a good idea., I wish all 'new' members would post on it, As for the nasty stuff which has been occurring away from GR, but about GR members, it certainly has had a lot to do with the general unrest of late. It hasn't put me off but it has made me wary. BC XX

I think we should all be glad that we have each other, the good, the bad, and the ugly, and that the moment we feel down we can log on here and immediately chat to all our friends about anything & everything.
Okay it doesn't always run smoothly, but so what, the good definitely outways the bad and who knows whose ugly, we can't see each other so come on lets support each other and enjoy this friendship, it's unique.

Well, I've only been on Genes for about 18mths, so I'm not going anywhere either. I've paid my fees to find my family. Having people to talk to on these boards is a very much added bonus. But, even in my short time here, I've seen people leave, who I have gathered where on here along time. I agree with Robin and Marion, and also hope I have never caused any offence to anyone
