~~~~ 's madly to all for Aussie Day, which is almost over! Nice hot one here too, and a hot week ahead. We had a restful day, short morning at the shop and a bbq tonight. DD17 went to the park for all the delights with her friends, but is home early for an early night, as she went to the all-night pics on Saturday with same pack of friends. I'm off to bed too, one of my gals has a very sick f-in-law rushed to the Alfred and I suspect she could be away tomorrow, so I'll get in early. Plus I gotta WASH MY HAIR - you know how it goes, put it off one day too long lol........ Happy Oz Day everyone, gobless, Hz
Hello All , Happy Australia Day very hot up here and no rain in sight , Hope you are coping Tony without Barcode tell her was looking for her at Leyton's match , watching Serena now , we are barracking for Elana hope she goes well against Safina . Cassie opened her business on Saturday as she said she would and had no customers until about 11:30 am then she sent the workers out onto the median strip and the nature strip and had them hold up signs saying we are open come on try us on our opening day then she was so busy she had to call them all in to wash the cars , she ended up washing 36 cars and doing lots of coffee and drinks etc in the cafe so for the first day she was thrilled as she hadn't advertised at all yet , it's a Car Wash Cafe and they wash the cars as they say by hand and vac inside and do the tyres and all of the customers said they were happy and one fellow who was there a little longer than Cassie said he would be when she said I'm sorry it was bit longer than it should have been so here is a discount voucher for you and he said" No I don't want that I am thrilled with the job you have done and I will be back "and also recommending you to all my friends , I am so happy for her I just hope it stays busy for her she has worked so hard and I mean physically and mentally to do this all on her own. Josh is doing really well and is really well the same with him just hope he succeeds with his goals , you all know the problems he has had and he is now recovering and doing it on his own . My grandson Ryan is 21 on the 8th of Feb, and he is having a rage part with his mates in other words Nan isn't invited "Boy I said hey I can rage like the best of them and he said' Sure Nan sure " .So I going down to drop of his pressie and hopefully get to see him , he lives away from home now and works at some night club making cocktails and recently came second in an Australian wide competition. No more news for now guess you will know where Tiger is no prize for this one lol love to all and especially peeps we don't see much anymore thinking of you all Lara
Hello to every one and a Happy Australia Day to one and all . Stinking hot in good old bathurst and to top it all off my son -in -law Brian who I love to death put a post hole digger through a water pipe late last evening and we had to turn the water off,he started to fix it but received an urgent call from my daughter to say that her ceiling was leaking so off on his white charger to see if he could fix that problem,that was hrs.ago poor Brian he is so generous with his time to all of us females with out partners.
About the tennis I was very pleased to see Helaine Dockich ( probably not the right spelling ) Get into the qtr. finals. Now bring on the Cricket, Yaah
Hi everyone -Happy Aus. day for Monday. All this talk about tennis -isn't anyone a cricket fan? I would spend all day and night glued to the screen if I could. Love the South Africans -such a breath of fresh air- and taking our'Heroes' down a peg or two! This weather is awful -find it very hard to sleep, when it is so hot and humid. Glad I left the north coast -wouldn't be able to stand it anymore -seems to get worse as you get older. Anyway, enough whingeing, all the best to everyone. Cheers, June in Batemans Bay
Afternoon to All, I guess we are all sweltering in the heat of the last week with no end in sight. Aircon has been running a lot the last few days.
We have had some thunderstorms but our suburb seems to miss the rain every time (weird).
merle glad to see things are looking up for your knee now.
I did consider not renewing at one time but like you Hz I like the tips and have found lots of contacts re my tree since being a member so will carry on with it. Have been watching the tennis quite a bit,oh well only another week and it will all be over.
Quite a lot going on in the Gong on Australia Day but I won't be there,the crowds are to big for my liking.
So have a happy Australia Day one and all.
Cheers Sandra in the Gong
Bit of a front just came through here this late afternnoon, it has been a horrible gusty bleathery day, small rain squalls only, more dust than anything in the air - YUK YUK YUK ! Vonny I just checked my GR status and the button is ticked for Continuous, I was able to change it to single and back again OK. As Mary says, perhaps you had better email GR. I still stay here because I like reading the tips, I have had some really good hints about websites and computer probs.
Merle, so glad the tweek helped (sounded a bit painful though!), you'll be dancing in no time. Nothing much to do about the heat except hibernate I reckon - my least fave time of year. I haven't been doing my morning walk because I get home so hot and sticky that even a shower before dressing for work doesn't help, I feel sweaty all day.
Enjoy the Aussie Day meal Mary, I like no-cook evenings too ! Just grilling tonight, but I'm pigging out on frozen blueberries at the moment, don't know if I want a whole meal anyway. OH won't be home till late - shop-fitters were still finishing off their handywork today, but all the machinery is working, so we are hot to trot.
Enjoy your evening all, ~~ Hz
Morning all.. We have hot and humid again..But we did get some rain and a good storm last night,,9000 homes were blacked out near us and I saw the lightening strike that did it,,It was so close I thought it was just over the front units it was so close..Anyway our lights just went out and came back on again so was happy about that..another forecast for tonight..
Merle I am so glad to hear that things are on the up and up again.. Now be a good girl and look after yourself and no dancing or skateboarding yet..hee hee hee...BIG HUGS..xxxxx I am sure Himself enjoyed his birthday as much as you did..
Vonny While looking at lappys have a look at the 17" lappy by dell... The larger screen makes a lot of difference and the keyboard is the same as a desktop keyboard with the extra numbers on the right hand side,,I am very happy with mine..
Been up watching the tennis and feel so sorry for those people that have to stay up to 9 or 10 o'clock to start their matches..Its much to late to be playing tennis,,especially at that top level..
Vonny email them and tell them your problem,,and tell them you are not renewing..That way they cant say they didnt know..
Got an Australia Day dinner tonight so NO COOKING,,yyyaaaayyyy
Love to all Mary xxxxx
Merle - what great news. So happy for you. (((((BIG HUGS))))) Glad you enjoyed 'himself's' birthday in style too :)
Thanks for the info Sir Tone and Hz. Am beginning to look wistfully at a lappy/notebook.
Has anyone else tried to change their membership from Continuous to Single? I don't want to renew this year but I can't change the account!!! keep getting this message:
" Error! That site name is not allowed, please choose another"
Which is a bit of a worry as I am not trying to open a new site!!!
Love to all - glad the house looks like it is finally going ahead Moo :)
Hello bootiful peeps, I've had my Knee stretch and can't believe the difference. Bleedin' sore but no pain. I'm walking so much better and managing the exercises much easier. Isn't that wonderful?It's back to physio as soon as we can find enough to run the class for the next six weeks , but I don't mind that. Swellings gone down by half already. I'm on the bottom of the waiting list for the other Knee which the xray says is as bad as this one. I won't mind the wait. The thought of another lot doesn't perzacly thrill me to the eyeballs.. We've had some really hot weather for Albany. Even a 38. How about that. Even had a fan in the bedroom.. It was himselfs birthday last Saturday so G D no 3 and self went to his fave squid shack to have lunch for him. The others were all in Perth for a wedding. Emma looked after Casey while I was in horsepiddle. She, casey was 16 on the 9th.Still going strong but pretty blind now and gets upset if I'm a bit late turning on a light. Still turns up at 8-30 and pats my leg to say come on mum, bedtime, so I watch t.v.from the bed. Yeah I know, she rules the roost, but have to admit it's not so lonely that way. Noeline and Shevaun have moved in to their "new" home. It's strange not having them so close but we'll get used to it. Anyway, enough of this gabble, must away. Catchya luv Me
Hello to all
Sandra, same here, we had a couple of cooler days and nights, but we are heating up again today, Monday. I see a lot of peeps returning from holidays tomorrow, all want their papers redelivered. But the town is full of holiday visitors, while the locals are starting to talk "back-to-school". I have got DD17 at our front counter in the shop, she is enjoying the contact with a wide variety of people and also the $$'s, but in particular starting to appreciate how her parents feel getting home at the end of a long day!
Marie thanks for the wish for buckets of rain, there will definately be a "dance" here when it finally comes! Hard to imagine now at 37 degrees and more tomorrow.
~~ Mary, new gals are appearing out of the woodwork for the shop - firstly today our own DD17 who coped with a number of out of the ordinary situations with aplomb - so grateful she can help, and she likes the $$. Word of mouth is working, tomorrow 2 lasses are coming in to see us about work......... one OH knows and is keen on, the other has a lot of expereince on paper then had a trauma, is now ready to get back in the workforce.
Oz day in Albury is also a big Council day here Tones, Noriel Park by the river is the venue and there is the Annual Raft Race - teams, individuals, all dressed-up, huge hilarity when the fire brigade gets the hoses out ! Starts with the Aussie breakfast, later the camp oven gets firing for bring your own pizza, damper, fruit pies etc etc, all day long music and craft tents, usual tug'o'war between the footy teams, three legged races,egg and spoon, painted faces, paddle pools and jumping castles, clowns, ice-cream cart, usually with a big screen Aussie movie at dusk............. huge day !
Could have sold ten Tennis programs today if we had any left! Seems the competition is pretty good this year, looking forward to catching Bar-Code on the big screen lol ! Enjoy your peace and quiet Tones !
Better go, summer berries on offer, can't resist.......... ~~~ to all, Hz
P.S. I think a lappy and a notebook tre the same Vonny, but I'm not an expurt!
