Arvo....:>))
Lovely sunny Sunday in Melbin. Had a great Christmas day with family.....Mum,siblings, kids and grandies, cousins, neices and nephews, grand nieces and newphews....so a great day by all.
Boxing day just lounged around and tucked into the left overs ( as ya do ) and i think iv'e had about 10 helpings of plum pud since Xmas day...lol One of Barbs clients wrapped up a boiled fruit cake for me, as she does each year, so i scoffed that down too.......:>))) My kids bought me about 3 jars of chocolate scorched almonds ( light & Dark ) so that should see me through next week...... at least..!!!!. Barb said i will get pimples from eating to much chocolate.?...I wish....lol
Not back to work till the 5th Jan.....so just going to relax and do absolutley nouthing. Among other gifts, Barb bought me a book "Kingdom of the Dead"....voyages through time... by Peter Ackroyd.....so a few VB tablets on the decking while watching the cricket, or pottering around in me Vegie patch......what more could a bloke want?.
Hope everyone had a nice christmas.

Two, no 3 days Post Boxing Day - I think......... hello everybody, congrats on surviving, it's all over tooooo quickly! I'm loving the coool temps here, we had a lovely Christmas day, my sister was here from Adelaide and we had tempura seafood and some fabulous wine and then stopped! On Boxing Day we resurrected the roast and ate again but moderately. Sis has now gone on to Falls Creek for New Year ( 2 - 12 degrees expected lol) and DD17 has gone out of town with friends also, leaving Ma and Pa Kettle to look after ourselves for a bit - bliss to be so quiet, but the cat is pacing the joint wondering where the action has gone. I think we will party at a neighbours' for New Year like last year, easy to stagger home ! Sis was amazed at Ancestry when I showed her what I've been up to re family tree, might get her interested yet! I've just stumbled across a Paul Newman doco on Austar, so I might just watch it before an early night. mwah to all, I'll be back before New Year ~~~ Hz

~~~~~ to all, I'm here Mary, finally it's very hot here today so had to give the garden a good drink. Have started "bandicooting" the spuds - didn't ever know what that was till last weekend reading the paper in the garden section ! It means stealing the big spuds out from under the plants, leaving the little ones and the plant to grow on. Now I've learned it, I've managed to use the term fivetimes in four days LOL , show off, me !!
Second evening at the household paperwork tonight, keep getting sidetracked as I uncover "stuff" - but DID find a Bags Plus voucher and an Angus and Rob voucher from my last birthday that I had entirely forgotten about ..... in the bottom of my handbag, (blush).
Oops, cat wants attention, she loves sitting right on top of whatever I have spread all over, then she rof laughs at me !
Keep well and happy all, Hz
Happy New year to everyone for 2009.
Bit quite on the work front, as peeps are on holidays. In between working and F.H we are doing up the front of our property, so keeping me busy ......and fit...lol Vege patch is supplying lots of summer vegies this year so far,and as we are not to far into the really hot days yet, things are surviving.
Hope everyone is fit and well, and if not, then can only wish positive thoughts for all who are not 100%....and a better 2009 for you.
Hi people. I guess we didn't win the lotto. Not that I've checked mine yet.I'm sure you lot did. Will do it tomorrow. I'm allowed out!!!!!!!!!! Went A over T new years morning making my bed and you can no doubt work out what I landed on so back to hospital at home and too upset about it to tell anyone.As with the other earlier fall, it actually improved my walking but I'd much rather they did the manipulating under anaesthetic!. I see the specialist tomorrow evening and we'll see what he has to say.May still have to have it "tweeked".Also have to ask about the other knee and get on the waiting list for that so it doesn't get as bad as the other one. Better see to it in case the slowly closing heart valve causes them t o think again. I've only read a few pages and I know I've missed a lot of goings on but I sincerely hope your 2009 started a damned sight better than mine. Can't we just skip over to 2010 now? On second thoughts better not.. Hi Doc Lew, what a lovely calendar. Thank you. Catch you sooner rather than later, Luv Me
Hi everyone.. We have a lovely day today but we need rain..
Merle Crikey girl... get back to bed and rest that knee...what is it with knees..they never go quietly..You and Mike are a great pair..do hope the specialist fixes it up and you are back on ya feet..get this one fixed up first before you do the other one..You want at least one good leg to walk on..We are all still here so we haven't won lotto.. lol..We would have all packed our bags and off to the UK by now if we had won...hee hee hee..Take care and BIG HUGS..xxxx
June I have already found a few people on the 1911 census, without having to pay out yet..But taking my chances and ordering a certificate ..Just might be in luck..
We had a big power outage yesterday and when we woke up at 6am there was no power and it didn't come back on till around 9.30 that night..Its amazing what you can find to eat when you have to eat something cold ,,but we did ok.. Missed my tea and coffee though..9000 homes were without power, as something went bung and it took them all day to reroute power from other grids so that we could have some power..Tonight they turned out power off for about 30 minutes while they fixed it or replaced the broken bit and now we hope we are not gonna have that problem again..
Well am off to bed..Sleep tight all and hugs for all that need them
Love Mary xxxx
Oh Merle, all the best ! All you can do is put yourself in the hands of the professionals, we will be thinking of you.
Not so hot here today, thank heavens, but more high 30's to come this weekend. The veg is swathed in green shadecloth, I picked all the tomatoes and hope to keep the plants going for a bit more cropping in March.
Lots of people still in town because of Country Basketball week - had a nice chat to a couple from Geraldton WA today!
DD17 is back from a beach sojourn and is doing some short shifts at the shop. Lost our promising young lass today (resigned) as her boyfriend dumped her and she cannot get childcare for her 2 yr old, she is having to go to family, which was not her wish to be dependent on them. Childcare is impossible to get locally for under 3's because of the Centre collapses, A mess. So I'm again looking for a worker
Better do some h....w - oh, and thanks to Tony's link, I found my English Nana and Pop in 1911, plus Gladys aged one, my Mum's elder sister who died at 9 yrs before Mum was born. I felt sad about Gladys, however I know where they are all buried so I plan to visit one day.
Have a nice evening everyone, ~~ Hz
