morning all you people
I've only just been out
getting mum up this morning
I really had to shout

we went for a long walk
round the beach and back
I tried to get mum jogging
across a muddy track

Oh boy was that a sight
I think she's had enough
now I'm going back to sleep
Oh isn't that just tough

When you join the boards on GR
You learn the meaning of bizarre
All sorts of people joining in
To make you laugh or cry or grin.

Good morning little leggy puss
You really have to make a fuss
To get your mum up in the morn
Before the day starts with the dawn

The way my kitty starts the day
Is jumping on dad's head
Before he can get out the way
She then jumps off the bed

And then she sings her morning song
Come on get up before the day is done
I want my food, I want a pee
Come on and open the door for me

But ew wouldn't change our little puss
Just because she makes a fuss
She brings us mice
They're not so nice
But who would really cuss

Mums listening to music
and stuff that i dont understand
she talk about this group
and hugs me for that band

So I wriggled out to say goodnight
and try to go to bed
but really I can;t settle
without Mums hand on my head

She's been my whole life
since I was a leggy freak
I really couldn't help it
I really was too weak

But now I am much bigger
and I really need my bed
If she play more Alice
I will chew around her head

Now I can't be bothered
I'll go to bed alone
and when she tries to get here
I'll pretend to be a stone

Errr I give my mummy kisses
and give her the cute stare
I'll tug at her pj's
and play upon her hair

Now she understands
that she has to go to bed
I am really now telling her
and doing in her head

I'll say goodnight to you
and drag my mum away
She only has another hour
and then I'm up to play

I've had a little trouble with my new laptop
And so I've just read all your rhymes
You are a clever lot

Uzzi what a lovely tale
About your little pup
I really am so jealous
Of your lovely mutt

And Mags, it's still too soon love
To replace your lifelong friend
But one day you will feel the need
For your heart to mend

Mag I really do understand
taking another too soon is wrong
You still need time to say farewell
before another bundle can belong

Magnolia you are grieving
and my house feels for you
But early days it still is

I never thought I would say
with the life we lead
let us get another dog
but there was that need

And so we got another one
not the perfect little pet
she had been ill treated
but thankfully loved the vet

Now our household was complete
no more thats enough
but abandoned in a carpark
was a 8wk ball of fluff

so leggy and so thin she was
I knew my heart was lost
and I knew she'd join the family
no matter what the cost

The cost was chewed up blankets
and an early morning call
but I couldn't be without her
that wouldn't do at all

Reading Barbara's thread about her cat
has made me think about this and that
I sit alone in my empty house
bored with things and becoming a grouse

TV is out, it's full of crap
my friend who called to visit me
said a pet is what you need old chap
something nice upon your knee

So I had a think, and perhaps hes right
something to keep me company at night
a snake, a mouse, a bird, a frog.
a gerbil, a hamster or even a dog,

but after thinking long and hard,
a dogs no good I haven't a yard,
where it could run and play all day
so that's no good I have to say,

I need something that's full of life,
and before you start its not a wife
I've had one once and that was enough
she drove me mad and made me rough

What I need is plain to see
I need a little pussy.!!

I hang my washing on the line
watching people shake their heads
for I am sure they feel sorry
for the linen of my beds

The blanket is all full of holes
the duvet is looks the same
and if I put the throws out
I hang my head in shame

holes in all the bedding
that hangs along my line
I give up telling people
honest it is not mine

I was given a new bedspread
for the dogs you know
but I thought I might keep it handy
to put on the line for show

and still my pup you lay there
with blanket in your gob
sucking in your dreamworld
and making Me look like a yob.
