Hi Dawnie, do you think you might be tensing up anticipating how stressful it will be with your o.h. away from the house, and that causes more pain, I know if I am stressed my neck and shoulders tense and that goes up into my head so I am in a lot of pain and feel wooly headed. I hope you can get better pain relief sorted out but it all takes time doesn't it for things to start working. Take care, try to eat a little to keep up your strength

that sounds like punishment exercise bike, i dont know about exercise,
you take it easy, dont feel guilty for doing your pace,
i fall into that trap, when i tried the physio in a swimmiing pool, over did it,
i avoid dentist like the plague, i know it will make me shaky after and begrudge paying the amount they charge, tho i desperately need my tooth sorted,
take it easy now dawnie

hello all, I have had a bad few days and really must learn to listen to my body, had dentist yesterday and today and has whacked me out so all the other things I need to get done have made me so tired and moody. I will learn to take it easy one day.
Am still waiting for letter form pain clinic so i can go tomy drs and come off the gabapentin which is what they reckon is putting on all the weight. Will then go onto some others for my restless legs and hope they work.
Wasnt keen on going in for a day every 4 months and haveing an IV with something that sounded like lignicaine even though they say it has a good success rate, with the way our luck is at minute I would be the one that had seizures or heart went haywire.
Have been a good girl and been on the exercise bike everyday so far am managing 6 minutes at a steady rate, well steady for me slow for hubby.
Hope you are all ok.

Darn and double Darn!!! Have pretty much done with hot flushes a few years back and only get the odd one and my throat isn't so bad now so hope I will soon feel better and that you all have some better days with the fm.

morning all.
Have pain clinic this afternoon oh what fun, has taken me days to fill in the forms they want and a whole page of it cant get head round so they will have to help me with that bit.
Going on train and then theres a bus at other end that goes to all three hospitals so will go on that and then a long walk finding the right department.
Got letter yesterday that am still going to be getting my incapacity benefit for a few more years so thats one worry out the way and just waiting for date for DLA tribunal dreading that one.
Steve grumble and moan away it does help and we know how you feel but when your flowers come up will of been worth the agony.

Hi all, well now I have a stinker of a cold to help things along lol, ache all over and my nose is so sore from blowing it with an almost constant headache so couldn't sleep very well yesterday, hope today is a bit better and quieter outside too, first of all neighbour had some fascia boards etc delivered and then when that van went, the bin lorry came, reverses down the close to under the bedroom window so the beep beep and then the men shouting to each other and the wheely bins being lifted on the ramp to be emptied, well who could sleep through that? I kept going hot and cold and dozed then woke, so by the time I got up I had pain and stiffness everywhere and o.h. was in a bad mood with his cough, and expected me to cook dinner and wash up, had to do it or wouldn't have eaten! Let's hope we all have a bettter day today, altho I need to get some sleep before I call it today lol
take care Lizxx

Evening ladies. I haven't posted here for a while. After having a generally improved time. And I'm sure you've all been there & then it kicks you for six. Got around to planting some primroses (15 off) for the spring & foxgloves (6 off) in the garden yesterday. Awkward & a bit painfull to do. but took my time & had abreak inbetween. Woke up today.....or should I say tried too. Pain levels back up. But worse couldn't get the other half of my brain to get going. Just kept falling asleep. Eventually got up 3:45pm, brain dead all day (or should I say evening) & right shoulder, side of neck & hip in alot of pain. Would make sense except I'm left handed. Because of this painkiillers had long worn out & out of scync. Taking tramadol 100mg 6 times a day + paracetamol. Had some fun on the boards, helps keep me sane. But now its late again 1:27am & dreading going back to bed. If I don't sleep, I'll be @@@@@@ If I do, to what existance & time will I find. Oh besides, had letter back from pain dept for appointment next month. Only 10mths for after I had the failed neck denevation treatment.
My apologies. I don't usually grumble, just needed to tonight. I Hope you are all feeling that much better tomorrow. Steve xxx

Julie, they're called Alomide. You're probably right. I stopped taking them, I saw no reason to be taking them in the first place. Now I've got to try for an appointment with the GP to discuss it. I can't help but wonder if the specialist just said it to get rid of me because if he'd said there was nothing at all I might want to come back or keep him longer in the appointment. If there's nothing wrong with the eyes themselves then that's fair enough, it really only leaves the FM causing spasms in the eye muscles.

Hi Julie, it's awful when you are restricted in what you do, I am hoping by the time I get grandchildren, I might have shaken off the fm. When I think of all the children I have minded and carried around etc i would hate to not be able to do it with my own grandchildren. Hope you all feel better soon, maybe when we get a little warmth and sunshine.

Hi Liz , I started putting on weight when I first went on hrt about 15 years ago or more, and have turned into my Mum, she put on weight as she aged altho she was never on hrt so not sure what to blame. I did have amitryptiline for sleeping but it did no good at all so don't bother with that, and I can manage the pain with anadin extra etc on an occasional basis, so don't see the point in taking painkillers/anti inflammatories every day. I have osteo arthritis in both knees and a bit in my neck and shoulders and also the calcific tendonitis in both shoulders too, so take painkillers for that if and when it comes but prefer to stay off medication as much as poss, while I can cope. I would be able to get more exercise, walking etc if I wasn't so heavy so that's another reason to lose some weight, think I might have lost a pound or so lately as I am trying to cut back on food intake a bit, don't eat so much bread as I did, altho it is hard, I love toast lol take care, hope your eye problem goes away soon Lizx

I seem to be doing ok on the tramadol as long as I don't take it more frequently than 6hour intervals and always just before or just after food.
Can't say whether the paul mckenna thing is doing much good with my sleep but it's very relaxing when I'm lying in bed. Some of the recommendations are that you shouldn't go to bed unless you're sleepy, should try to avoid naps during the day and only use the bed for sleep or s*x (ie don't read in bed). There are some good tips in the book but most of it is common sense. I did discover that if I wake up in the middle of the night, listening to the cd again is a really bad idea...it wiped me out for nearly 36 hours was so sleepy (ie blink too long and nod off - even standing up/walking).
I've not been around much at all Liz, so haven't seen a thread i'll maybe have to search for it. Have you considered that maybe taking meds will help you feel a bit better and thus help you to lose weight? I'm just looking at it from another point of view is all, I guess I'm lucky in that I've not put any weight on with it. I'll happily trade anyone for these new eye drops though...they sting like crazy for 20 minutes or more and I really don't think I need them or that they're doing any good.
Oh well, just needed a ramble. (If it takes me a while to reply I'm not ignoring people I'm just forgetful or not around coz of my eyes)
