I have just got this off Tony, written by Deanna herself, so glad she can still join in, shows she is on the mend.

This was written by my mum in response to your suggestion, I think she was at it on and off all morning the volume that she managed surprised me a great deal, though it did take some 'translating', re ordering and gap filling. I'm going to send it on to the rest of the people I have been updating as well:-

Hello all you 'luverly peeps'. Been missing you all, and am touched by all the beautiful cards, e-mails, letters, even photos of puppies (thanks daisy) you all sent me.

I have had offers of help and visits from some of you who live close (you know who you are) (I think she meant to thank you there). Some of you wanted to send flowers, but as Allan and Tony explained we are not allowed to have them.

My writing is all over the place but getting better. My BIG HOPE is that my keyboard is still 'QWERTY' when I get home.

Love to all

Deanna XX

P.s thank you all for not forgetting Allan & Tony who have been so worried about me.
All who were ill before - I hope you are getting well.
Could someone find out how Jill Myers (GR member) is? I have heard nothing from her and she was ill last time we spoke

I was intending to try and phone Deanna yesterday but didn't have the chance, will give it a few more days and hopefully she will be off the oxygen and feeling better. Will make a world of difference if she can use the phone sometimes to make contact, I am sure Tony is underestimating her and she will find someone to help her use it.
You show 'em Deanna!

Eileen I have just checked my e-mails and recieved the same from Tony, I have just dropped him a line or two back to say how greatful we are for his updates.
Deanna must be terribly lonely without her Allen and Tony but like you said restrictions may be lifted today, I do hope so.
Closing down now to watch Strictly come Dancing, catch you later.

Jane Report 31 Oct 2008 11:01

The last thing Deanna needs is the D&V virus.I think there are 5 wards closed at Kettering.
Hopefully her ward can open soon and she can see her family.Thank heavens for the telephone.

YorkshireCaz

YorkshireCaz Report 31 Oct 2008 09:58

Gail it was a virus I think and they shut the wards as a protective measure.
Still sending you healing thoughts Deanna and wishing you were back with us.
If you are reading this Tony thanks for latest e-mail, it's nice to keep up with how our Deanna is doing.

Why do they have a shut down. Obviously it is something nasty to close wards to the public. Can someone fill me in please???

Think of you Deanna, Allan and Tony all my best, hope you get to visit soon.

Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 29 Oct 2008 02:14

Tony sent me a message yesterday about something I had asked him and added this :

Just an update to say there is no update as the great Kettering General hospital is still closed to non essential visitors. I have only seen my mum for five minutes in the last five days and she was surprisingly upbeat but I'm sure that the lack of visitors will be getting her down. We either phone and or drop things off a couple of times daily and they assure us she is doing 'fine'. Which could be scary if you dwell to much on their diagnosis track record, but many of the Nurses in the ward seem really good so probably/hopefully it actually means she is doing fine.
Tony

What a shame Deanna can't have visitors as would be the usual way of things, this can't be helping her recovery, unless it makes her so darned determined to get home she is trying even harder...

love to Deanna and all the family,
Lizxxx
