Mornin'yuall .lol .from a chilly again East of england ,i think we had our summer yesterday afternoon ,when it got pretty warm and sultry ,so much so that both of us were wilting by 6 pm and ready for it to cool off a little. :-).
Sent you an email coupled with the one i sent to Edith ,Les' and Mavis Mary ,but it bounced , i didn't forget me old mucker ,and will resend it later on .
The garden is now coming on a lot better, cabbage ready shortly ,calabrese in use ,the onions and leeks doing great ,and the other stuff still slow but moving along in it's own good time.
The greenhouse is doing very well now ,going to have tom's coming out of there by the basket load ,a bumper soup crop i think ,and the cucumbers ,wow ,i think i will be giving loads away just to get shot of them ;-).
The diabetic review went well ,so well in fact ,the practice nurse was all smiles ,he he ,i half expected her to give me a sweetie ,so i did us a special tea last night to celibrate.
I sliced two Pannini's down the middle ,and layered both sides with green Pesto ,to which i added a generous few leaves of my Apple Mint which i chopped very finely and added to the pesto ,olive oil mix ,and wow ,it was amazing.
I put a layer of Leerdammer onto the base of the pannini .followed it with home cured wiltshire ham ,thinly slice onion rings ,ditto tomato , thin strip of chicken breast ,and another layer of cheese, put the halves to gether and banged them into the press for 5 minutes ,took them out when done ,cut them in half and slid them onto tea plates ,one for 'er ,and one for m'wah ,lovely it was too .
We even finished the meal off with halved strawberries ,and low fat cream :-D.
The two troughs of Pak Choi are now finished and i will be going out back shortly to replant them ,half a side with Apache ,spring onion ,and the other with pack Choi which i will start in cups this time before using my planter to shove them into the troughs as they become big enough.
The train is probably the way to go with the visit Les .a hell of a long way to drive especially with a sore hip ,i kids you not ,lol.
I is away to get these troughs done now ,and then i will come in to make dinner.two butterfly chicken breasts ,filled with Philli' cheese and chive, wrapped in panchetta ham ,yum.
Think i will do some new potatoes and a couple of baby roast [Apache] potatoes. some spring cabbage. swede, Calabrese from the garden, and a few beans.
Catch you later all take care ,and be safe.Fred,Liz,& the furry one xxx <3.

Hi Everyone. We have been busy with visitors on and off. After our fisher friend was here then Norm's son arrived comlete with his small dog. Bella was not best pleased about that and right off had a little nip to show who is the "house owner". Poor little Misha, but she soon rallied and managed to growl at Bella at every opportunity.....stressful visit for me!! Then the kids arrived with Rhian. They left her with us for the first day, it was great. We filled Bella's pool and gave Rhian the hose, she had a smashing time and we all got very wet. Then Norm let Rhian have free reign on the strawberries. I think she ate at least a half a pounds worth....pics to come today.

Then Norm had to go to Nanaimo for some more tests and we took the opportunity to have a nice lunch at a bistro and do a little shopping. Since then the weather has turned colder and rainy. I am not complaining. Like you, Edith, I can only take so much heat and then I am just plain exhausted.

Our trip plans have changed and we are now going to take the train once again. Norm was not up for the driving and it was a difficult decision to make as we really like to be off in the trailer. However we got an amazing deal, 60% off regular fares. So we will have 4 days each way of gourmet meals, fresh linens and the most amazing country in the world sliiding by our windows.

Edith I have checked the train schedule and the times have altered so if it is on time it comes thru Sioux L. at close to midnight or five in the morning. I guess on the way back if it is running late I will try and call you like I did last time.

This time we are going right thru to Toronto and will rent a car so that we can continue on and see all of Norm's family. Norm has already promised me a day when we will go to the two cemeteries and photograph all the family head stones.

So that is me for today. Some bu---r last night emptied someone's garbage can in our front yard. We could do without the agro, believe me! Norm has taken pics especially of the bank statement, a police citation.....some folks are so stupid and have never heard of a shredder!!

Morning everyone :-) After a few tries I is back!!! We are still in the hot zone as for weather. The days have been very hot plus the humidex adds to the dicomfort. Of course Edith is a winter person so hot does annoy me :-D
The worms have gone from the gardens and left little behind them, some of the flowers have survived, but the veg and herbs haven't. Oh, well try again next year.
Loved the pics Fred, that is a beauty of a Totem. Can't tell you what tribe tho'. Perhaps Les living on the west coast is more familiar with them than I.
Glad you enjoyed the holiday .If you like hot weather c'mon over :-D :-D
I will trade houses for a bit if you like!!!!!!
Had an interesting meal over the week-end. My youngest son brought me some elk meat. 2 lovely steaks and with veg and a salad it was a great meal. Very tender meat and quite dark in colour. It is farmed near where he lives and says it is not too expensive.
Hi, Mary, I know what noisy neighbours are like, had a gent who walked
about his apartment in cement boots I think. What a racket until I asked him to take the boots off at his door.
Looking forward to our Blueberry festival again this year, lots of "stuff" going on and a lot of folks coming back to enjoy the ten days with us.
Seems to get bigger every year.
Time to get a move on so it's bye for now. Edith <3

HI everyone..Haven't been in for a while as nothing much happens here that is interesting..Leading a quiet life as usual and decided to do some FH..
Weather has been nice but our peace has been broken by the people in the unit above us deciding to redo their kitchen and bathroom..So the hammering getting the tiles off the wall and floor have just about deafened us ..At least John can take his hearing aide out and its not to bad but its so bad you cant listen to the tv or phone..So decided to go out the back to do some gardening and fertilized my plants.. Took off the 2 lemons on my tree as the gardening experts said until the tree was mature not to let it fruit and to take them off,,Sorry about that as they were nearly fully grown, but the tree needs all it can to do some more growing ..got a sprig of Daphne which the gardener gave me so planted that and hope it strikes..so while I was out there fertilize all my plants and it stank to high heaven..After all the noise I had to put up with during the day I thought I would get my own back and send up a wiffy smell for them,,They might keep the windows shut which helps with the noise.. :-D :-D :-D :-D OOOO I am naughty... :-D :-D

Sounds like a nice holiday Fred.. Glad they looked after Liz and gave you the bigger room..those meals sound like a bargain..

My carrots are coming on and so are the spring onions..The spinach hasn't shown its head yet ..early days...there is a meal of Chinese greens so must find a recipe..stir fry coming up..

Well a quiet week..next doc visit is early August.

Take care all and hope you can still get into GR Edith..
Les when is the big trip..hope all is better for you both..

Well ,here we are ,home again back to the housework garden and tons of catching up to do lol ,i needs a holiday to get over the holiday :-) ,but we did have a good un , :-D.
Poor John must have been exhausted by the time you both got Home Mary ,something to be said for our small country i suppose ,places being that much closer together ,but i still envy you in these vast countries where you can breathe clean air and see countryside without having to go many miles to see it .
Hope that smoke from the fires has gone by now Les' and that it has cooled down a little for you .he he ,you can send some here if you like ,cor it's still plurry cold here ,though ,it has to be said ,it is a lot drier now ;-).
Nice to see you back in the fold Edith ,i do hope it lasts .you have been a miss on the thread.
Our hotel was basic ,but clean ,well run ,and the staff were fantastic ,as soon as we arrived and they saw that Liz was struggling even to walk in across the car park ,they changed the room to a disabled one with a large wet room with a sit in shower, and boy ,did we make good use of it.
The hotel was on the edge of a retail park ,with ,a Mc Donalds,Burger King ,Frankie & Bennys, and a good range of food outlets such as the Coop,Iceland ,Aldi, and B & M.
There was a multiplex cinema, a night club [Isis] and a large play park for the children, all well thought out,and Yes ,we will go back ,probably in mid September to the same hotel or the Premier Inn just up the road on another retail park, depending on prices and availability.
There was a good bus service to town ,running every ten minutes ,going right through Liverpool City centre right onto Mann island where the docks and main museums are to do with sea faring .
The new museums are built on the old White Star ,and Cunard docks were ,and the old Pier head where the Lusitania ,and Titanic left from.
The tour bus left from here too ,which meant we could go round the city ,getting on and off the bus to visit museums and parks as we wished ,cutting down any walking for Liz to a minimum.
We had a nice trip on the Mersey Ferry as well ,but left the trip to the old ww2 submarine until the next time after finding that we hadn't time to do it ,but we did find out that the tail of the sub had been cut off and reorganised so there were no ladders to climb ,[a bonus for us ] .
One of the museums of life had a huge totum pole in Edith ,darned thing was nearly 30 feet high ,some northern Canada indian tribe ,but for the life of me ,can't remember the name of them ,took a piccy though ,so you may know the name from it ,and cn fill us in on that one. ;-).
We got through to Southport twice ,again on the bus ,and had a darned good time ,pity though ,that the sun wouldn't come out for us although it didn't rain too much.
Every time we felt a few drops ,we sidled off into the nearest cafe till it stopped ,cor ,by the time we got back in the evenings we were sloshing as we walked ,he he.
Plenty of seats in the streets too ,which meant we could sit every couple of minutes for the missus to get her breathe back, and she done pretty good :-).
Coronation walk off the sea front to the main drag ,came up with a lovely tilltls scottish cafe called The Highlander where they did some lovely meals from a full scots breakfast complete with two fried bread and toast with marmalade for the cuppa £4-50 and lovely two course meals ,beutiful soups ,and a main course with real veggies [not the ever present chips ]like most sea side places, complete with roast tatties ,and new ones ,carrots ,peas ,and cauli'
£4-60 a head ,very well cooked ,and the staff very friendly and helpful we will def 'go back there again.
Got tons of pics once i upload them all off the two cameras .
The garden is looking a little better from the two days of watery sun it has had ,some calabrese is ready to use ,some of the runner ,french beans have flower at last, and my rhubarb is growing fast showing it has taken :-D.
Going to slide off now and make a couple of coffee's ,my turn this morning ;-).
catch you later all ,hopes you are all relaxing this weekend ,Fred & Liz <3 xxx.

Fred is in Liverpool this week ,just back from Southport after a nice day out ,taken a few pics and found a nice Scottish cafe that does very good meals ,even ones with veggies instead of chips ,lol, which pleased the missus no end :-).
Tomorrow it's a full day in Liverpool ,three museums to visit ,a tour of the river on a ferry with stopping off points [bit like a bus really] and a special trip round a ww 2 submarine if we can get down the ladders he he.
Hope everyone is okay and enjoying better weather ,see ya tomorra'

Hi everyone.. we have rather warm weather at the moment..went up to 19c the other day but coming down to normal range today..mid teens..nice..

Edith So good to see you back.. do hope all is sorted and you dont have any more problems..
Got John to his est ok and hope we never have to go there again..Its a mad house and the parking is no good for disable..They gave me 2 hours and told them that was not enough..so had to go park in the car park after depositing John where he had to go and he only just made it..His walking was terrible and the day must have been very stressful for him as when we got home he got out of the car and then got back in,,He didn't realise we were home and got a bit confused..His walking is slowly going down and yesterday they were very weak and he nearly had a fall.. Think its time to start looking at wheelchairs..he is managing ok around the unit today but I have to go shopping so he has to stay at his pc while I am away in case he has a fall..
Well better get a move on and get the shopping done as our daughter is arriving this afternoon and I have son and family coming around for dinner..The siblings like to catch up when they can,, so its 8 or 10 for dinner if 2 of the elder grandies come down with parents.or 8 if they don't..Easy dinner..not going to to much trouble..Will be lovely to see our daughter and catch up with all the news.

Have a nice weekend all...

HELLO First try down the drain so here we go again.
Our weather is in a curve from somewhere in hell as it is very very hot.
In the upper 30's with humidex of 38 to 40. not much fun. best to stay in with a.c on high. :-)
Found out the problem was not my P.C. but something over there. After
the Bell tech went through it all he cleared my machine and I have started again from scratch. First go a few minutes ago went into space but maybe this one will be o.k.
Will keep this short and see what happens. Bye for now. Edith <3

badger Report 11 Jul 2012 09:47

Morning Les ,Mary Edith ,and anyone else who looks in today .yeah ,i wish this rain belt would push off ,but so far ,we may get a small window tomorrow, long enough for me to do a tad of lawn cutting ,and hedge trimming if i am lucky.
Woke up to a pool of water out back again ,and the bottom of the road is part covered again ,so it rained pretty hard last night.
The rest of the week ,Friday through to Tuesday is set ,wet again ,so i am hoping our few days in Southport will be a little better ,us being a lot further south, but i won't hold my breath.
My son is calling in today ,and i will have a few words with him about the possibility of building a brick water shield up the sides of the patio door that i can block off in the case of heavy rain to stop the water getting in to the house .the front and back doors i can cope with by using two large planks set across the door openings .
This is all to do with the news we had this morning threatening 20 years of increasing rainfall at this time of year ,maybe it's time to sell the house and buy a houseboat to park on the lawn ,he he.:-).
The sweet sounded good Les ' i could try that one out when i get some compaany ,but i am okay myself having found some lovely diabetic ice cream ,just as tasty as the other stuff ,but low in fat ,and zero sugar ,belting taste too ,and brought from my favourite store :-D.
Veggie wise ,it would seem we are all in the same boat ,lol, plenty of the wet stuff and no sun,but even that is tons better than being chocked by clouds of acrid smoke and no sun ,so even with your warmth Les 'you are no better off :-(.
My beans are doing so so ,flowers on ,but no sun to get the beans set ,so i will be growing french dwarf &,climbers, next year ,and a few runners ,but no broads ,much as i love them ,in a tiny veggie patch ,they are not viable ,more's the pity.
Think the remark re the unpaid bill in Wales is funny ,lol,i think i would have done the same being afrair to go back in case i got nabbed by the fuzz,,so i will be very careful when we go to Southport ,it being twinned with Llandudno ,in case the fame of crazy Canadians has reached there ,he he,don't fancy waiters hovering around me while we are eating, not good form ,what? :-|.
Off for my blood tests tomorrow ,but am hopeful that there will be no problems to come back to,me having to go first to the surgery for the results ,and then the same week to have my retinal scan for glucoma ,so the sugar levels need to be stable. :-).
How did the garlic go into the Bird Les.? was it in the cavity with some sort of Stuffing?
My sister a few years ago did a large chicken ,in which she loosened the skin over the breast and smeared garlic mixed with butter ,and white pepper corms [ ground ] ,cor ,it was good ,and went down a storm ,lol.
Not any more advanced than you with the green stuff Mary ,all this water and no sun ,means my Pak Choi is showing signs of going to seed ,so i am picking them very young and using them in stir frys ,at least that way ,they dont get wasted ,and are still a fresh veggie,it just means i have time to empty the trough out and sow another two rows ,and try again lol :-).
Made a mistake over the name of the spring onions folks ,they are called Apache because the bulbs are red in colour,[apologies to the racists amongst the population],but like the Apache ,they are an aggresive breed ,growing very quickly and taste amazing, sweet but pungent at the same time, and only 10 weeks from planting to cropping, well worth the effort for salads ,stir fry ,and cooking use regarding asian foods, and a great one for small gardens and patios ,Edith :-D..
I am off to count my cucumbers again ,20 last night ,lol, i think the neighbours are going to be fed up with them by October possibly with the tomatoes too by the looks of it .
Catch you later Guys ,take care ,and stay safe.Fred & Liz. <3 :-Dxxx

Had a lovely visit on Sunday with the cousins....amazing how always you just know each other and can chat away. Anne set a beautiful table, used her Mom's china and silver ware, and served us a lovely meal with an amazing dessert that I am hoping she will send me the recipe for...I will share. My two cousin, Ivan and Bev. are really nice guys and we shared lots of family history stuff altho we are only loosely related thru our 3 x great grandparents

Since Sunday we have been plagued with smoke from various forest fires, mainly Siberia and Idaho. Yesterday you could hardly see down the valley at all and our lovely mountain was barely visible. I stayed in the basement in the cool for most of the day....otherwise I will be coughing and snorting all over the place. Today we are overcast at the moment so it is hard to tell how much smog we really have, it is still supposed to get up to 30 just the same. Now they say that fires in Siberia are to be left to burn themselves out so any time the wind is in the right direction we will get smoke....small world ain't it!!

Fred and Mary, my veggies are slow this year too escept for the broad beans that are racing along. I have one cucmber on my plants and it is about an inch and half long.....it will make a lovely salad...LOL!! My zukes are growing nicely but there are no flowers, I am not sure why that is except that no flowers means no veggies. My cilantro and dill have already bolted and so I think I will cut them back today and see if I can get a second show....never know your luck.

So Fred, it is still wet with you?? I thought that system had travelled off somehwere else. Have to tell you my Llandudno story. Twenty years ago when we were doing our "euro tour" we went thru Llandudno. We decided to stop and grab a bite to eat as it was quite a drive to our next campsite. So we were in this very quaint cafe, it was upstairs somewhere on the main street. We had scones and coffee and then in the middle of a "discussion" about where to spend the night we got up and left. Halfway down the street I suddenly turned to Norm and said....omigod we didn't pay. Well we didn't go back and so if you see wanted posters anywhere around....you will know who it is they are looking for!! LOL What a pair...didn't pay for a campsite in Scotland and a scone in Wales.

OK I am off to try and get my passport renewal sent from the government office here in town. I know that they will not oblige but I am going to give them a poke anyway.

Morning all ,from an early Autumn Britain ,spider webs visible on my hedges this morning 13c at 8 am ,crikey ,it could be Oz all over again ,he he.
Poor Edith has the same problem you had Mary ,Genes will not recognise her settings or even let her put new ones in like you managed to do ,entirely genes and two server conflicts ,that in some vast countries like certain areas of Oz ,and outlying areas of Canada, cannot seem to get sorted out.
When i used to talk to Bill ,he was stuck on Vodaphone ,and used to get booted off the net every few minutes, and us lot in bigger cities and such like have no idea of the difficulties some communities face.
Another pal of mine ,Dorothy ,also in Canada has like problems and i can only send her three pics at a time because it i try to send more ,her server has a hissy fit ,and locks up.
I am still trying to get in touch via F Talk ,because i see her name up on the board ,but so far no luck drat it.
I know your veggie problems Mary ,because i am having the same trouble here ,plenty of water ,but no warmth ,so a lot of stuff will either bolt looking for sunshine ,or remaining small and stunted ,can't win this year can we ?
Still ,the onions appear to be swelling nicely ,so long as they don't go to seed.
The runners are at the tops of the canes ,but they will have to wait, lol,i ain't paddling over that mud to reach them to nip the tops out, because ,sure as hell ,i will land up measuring my length on top of the cabbages he he :-).
Potato blight is rife in the country this year too ,so i reckon my tatties will be very welcome this year, because it seems ,mos of our shops will be having to import from Cyprus ,and Spain /Israel and the prices of all root crops are already going through the roof :-(.
America is just the opposite ,no rain at all ,and the sun so strong ,crops are withering in the fields, truly a weird year for all of us,with the jet stream ,and the Atlantic currents all out of kilter, gonna be a shortage of Christmas puddings this year ,their breeding cycle well and truly shot to heck, he he.
Hope Southport has plenty to see under cover ,because we will be away down there this coming Sunday, but i have heard that it is so much like Llandudno in Wales with all the Victorian facades, that i really am looking forward to seeing it,that is ,providing the car can get past all the water on the motorways ,,lol,we will see.
Hope Johns tests go well Mary ,and that you find your way okay, lol, you could really do with a built in sat nav to make it a little easier to get around, but i expect you will make it okay providing your wipers don't get swamped he he :-.D.
Going for a paddle now the binmen have emptied the rubbish bin ,see ya later troops ,oh ,what a gay day ,as Larry Grayson used to say,it's either laugh or cry this week .Fred.xxx <3

Morning all. we have sun and a nice day..but its going to rain tomorrow as I have to take John to the hospital for a test,..They have predicted rain and it does when I have to take John somewhere new for a test and don't know where I am going. So hate driving in the rain especially when its the first time to somewhere new..have looked it up on Google Earth and it seems ok so should be fine..just hope I can find a disable park.
Am afraid my spring onions and Chinese greens are slow growing ,,mainly due to lack of sun me thinks..The carrots are coming up but slowly..so wish I got more sun in my patio..but cant complain..
Les.. Meeting Genie cousins sounds great.. have a lovely time and bet there is a lot of chin wagging going on,,seems to happen that way when genies get together.. :-D
Edith I hope you can get sorted and get back with us.we do miss you..could you get someone in to check your puta and see if they can find a way around the problem.. <3

afternoon to all ,wow ,Liz is having a bad day ,again ,lol, she woke up with a reaally severe head ache ,and as i was downstairs getting her a cuppa ,she went and took two codeine phosphates before i got back upstairs ,she wasn't pleased when i told her to never take tablets without reading the instructions ,and those tablets were for severe muscle pain only ,even less pleased when i said she could take no more medication for a clear four hours ,that'l learn her to ask the old man first ,he he
We were supposed to have a roofer coming today to do next doors guttering ,and soffets for which he needed to crose our back patio to the back fence ,there being no gate exept from the houses either side ,stupid council planning ,as usual.
Any way ,i spent an hour in the pouring rain moving my patio furniture and B B Q over onto the lawn and next to the greenhouse ,and the twerp hasn't turned up grrrrrrrr :-|,he had better get a move on because we won't be available over the weekend ,and he will be out of luck ,Joan won't be best pleased either ,because it means moving all their gear through her house ,both before ,and after the job :-(
Can you send one of those fish my way please Les 'nowt i like more than a big fresh fish for dinner ,or tea come to that,i can't get out fishing at all these days ,so i only get one when one of the sons brings one home.
We will be having a dinner with our first veggie tomorrow ,Pack choi ,in a stir fry, along with some spring onions which i sowed twelve weeks ago ,called Red express ,and by 'eck ,they are too ,ready just 10 weeks from sowing ,in a normal year.
cucumbers are doing okay too ,over 12 now showing on two plants ,so we will do well for most things too ,all just taking far longer.
Hope you can get hubby away for the weekend Les ',if nothing else ,the change of scenery will do him the world of good.
The bread we made on Saturday was a belter by the way ,continental style with olive oil in the mix ,it turned out really well nice and soft apart from the crust ,which was crisp and tasty, def' a cut and make again ,lol, next time though i will make the Perogies the same day ,i think a slice of home made bread will go well to mop up the gravy ,he he.
Hope all are getting into the week without too much hassle ,we are now looking forward to our Liverpool trip on Sunday ,and our trip round the museum ,catch you all later Fred.xxx :-)

Hi Guys, have a housefull of fishermen....well one actually but he is up and away at 4.30 every morning. Norm and I just sleep on a bit and let him do his thing. Only allowed 2 per day so he has 6 so far. One we demolished the other night and I didn't have to cook it...yea!!

Today we are going to take him to the farmer's market and then a lazy day I think, it was 27 degrees yesterday and supposed to be ven hotter today.

On Sunday Norm and I are going for dinner in Qualicum to meet up with two distant cousins I met thru researching my Darbon line. Amazing that they live close by. Ivan in Qualicum and Bev in Calgary. Norm is not looking forward as he thinks he will be bored but I think it will do him good to be out and about. I have offered to bring desseert...but being the "non-baker" that I have become I will have to check out the local bakery. We don't often do dessert, too much fat and sugar etc.

So I am off to the market. Everyone keep well. Hope Liz gets sorted comfortably Fred. Big hugs to you too Mary and you and John take it easy. Edith maybe you should download Firefox and use it as you browser....we miss seeing you on here.

Morning all, well we escaped the deluge [just] this time as it stayed in the clouds until it was further north ,but it looks as though Morpeth copped it again ,such a shame too ,they have been hit twice in three years ,before last night.a nice little town that i used to visit a lot.
We have to go back to the R V i in 8 weeks Mary ,her specialist was not at all happy with The recurrent infections ,or her blood oxygen levels ,and says he is thinking of putting her on oxygen if things don't improve very quickly.
Last time i emailed Edith and had a natter ,she said she was able to read the posts on here ,but the continuing conflict between I e and genes meant she could not get on ,to actually get a connection to add to threads.
I have heard of people from all over having the same trouble ,not unusual ,more's the pity ,which is one reason why i never use internet explorer as a browser ,too slow ,and iffy,i use google and ,firefox [sometimes].
We have liftoff in the garden Mary ,pak choi ready ,cucumber and tomatoes on the vines, mint ready of all sorts ,and the herbs ,from Rosemary ,to Sage ready for use ,lol, things are looking up.
Hope the hubby enjoyed going out for dinner ,it must make such a change, for him ,to get out once in a while ,which is why i get my trouble and strife out every other day ,even to the shops is a change of scenery ,and exercise ,little as it is . :-).
When the time comes i will be getting her a mobility scooter like the one i saw last week in Morrisons,as i pulled in to the car park ,and i actually saw an old fella [like me] he he ,get it out of the back of his car ,in two bits ,assemble it in 2 minutes ,and get his missus into it,what a good little buggy ;-) giving his wife independence to do her shopping her way and for an old git like me ,legs getting iffy ,so no having to push her in a wheelchair :-D.
The way forward for us i think ,with the new car due next year ,an estate from Kia is ideal ,plenty of room for a buggy or chair ,and still tons of room for the shopping or luggage, and 80 mpg on diesel :-).
Did perogies for dinner yesterday using the meat ones [4 each] , with sliced up new tatties a few par cooked sliced carrot ,and 4 cooked ,chopped slices of bacon rashers ,done in a cheese and veggie sauce ,all topped with 4 ounces of dutch cheese..and this time ,the Canadian way ,thanks to Edith ,and Les' it was spot on ,oooo ,i really enjoyed it .
Tea was easy ,using two of these new fangled egg pockets that i got from Aldi ,i did us both a poached egg for tea on a slice of toast each ,the first time i have given the wife one ,perfect ,with a lovely set white, and a great runny yolk, mine ? by the time i had taken the missus her's through ,mine was hard in the middle ,blast it ,but i will get them both right next time round. ;-).
Going to make a loaf of bread this afternoon after shopping to keep my hand in ,lol,we tend to keep a couple of mixes handy for the winter ,just in case we get snowed ,or flooded in [now] can't be without bread can we?,anyway this mix is a balsamic vinegar and tomato /orageno one ,so we will see how it goes, makes a change from making my own from the basic flour and yeast.which is an option ,me having the ingredients in at all times.
Hope you are still looking in on the tennis peeps ,Murray has done well this year ,lol, the change of coach having a heck of a lot to do with it Lendle passing on his vast experience to great effect.
Hope all are having a good weekend in these funny times ,all of us getting some very funny weather :-).Take care all ,and stay safe ,Fred. <3xxx

Well the flu and cold have started to go and I am starting to feel a bit better..
Fred Sorry to hear that Liz is having difficulty walking.. Does she have one of those walkers on wheels that aid in walking and have a seat for a rest when it gets to much,,saves having to find a seat for her to rest on when you go out..John has one and he cant walk without it..Will send you a pic of one..

Les How is your household.. Hope your plans for a trip away come about..

Edith ,, Let us know if you can read but not post or not able to do both..a right butter... :-S :-S

Weather here is nice with the occasional shower which waters my plants..so am glad about that..

Taking John to the club across the road for lunch today as he hasn't been out of the house for a good few days,,what I would do for a holiday..so need one..might talk to our area mnd coordinator about getting someone in to look after John next year so that I can have a break..

Have a lovely weekend all..

Love

Hi To Mary ,who by this time is no doubt ,i hope snug in the warm ,and in the land of nod :-).
The way things are going Mary ,old chum ,i may be asking you for advice before much longer ,Liz being able to walk with some trouble ,between here and the kitchen before being so short of breath ,she has to sit down :-(,she looks more and more like a wheelchair case to me.
I have to take her to see the specialist at the R V I on Monday coming at 11-30 am ,so we will see what the prognosis is,the new shower has already turned out to be a blessing ,far better than the old one ,and she can just about get into the bath ,and sit down on the chair while i wash her hair.
The shopping isn't so bad ,courtesy chairs are in all the stores here ,so i just park up ,leave her in the jalopy ,and get a chair out for her
to slide onto . :-) .
Got my phone back this morning ,and found out that the berk who served me in Swindon ,had ,despite me telling him not to disable the dongle locked in the house did so ,messing my whole account up in the proccess, plurry clown :-|.
I refused to leave the shop and made them unblock the dongle ,AND remove the stand alone PAYG dongle from my account before i would leave the shop.
Roll on March when i can move my account ,phone and dongles over to Orange and be done with T Mobile for good.
Managed to get a little done in the garden this afternoon ,and i am now up to date ,yippee, and the little sun we have had these past two days has encouraged my roses to bloom for the first time this year, including one of the new ones.
My first batch of Pac Choi are nearly ready ,and the tomatoes in the greenhouse ,and the four Cucumbers are now doing very well.
Outside the beans are away up the canes good style ,so it looks as though most things are only four weeks later than normal :-).
Had lovely Butterfly Chicken Breasts for dinner ,stuffed with Philly cheese and chives ,and wrapped in Parma Ham,with some nice new tatties and broad beans ,yum.
Have a nice weekend all ,and you be careful our Edith ,no getting yourself trapped at the back of your verandah ,by all those plants you are putting in,lol :- Fred. ;-)xxx

Hi Les,glad you got the pics ,i have some more of the road [river ] flowing past our gate he he ,the garden was flooded up to 2 inches of the patio door frame ,and even got over the big trays in the greenhouse that the tomatoes are in ,got in there this morning in time to stop the plants going down for the third time ,lol. :-).
We were very lucky ,Les on the end was trying to sandbag his front door ,but got flooded out before he could get the bags in place .
Have a great Canada Day over there ,liz and i will be with you in Spirit ,our post man bear sitting on my puter table in pride of place .
I am still hoping you find the new house and find a buyer for the present house ,so that Bella can get her walks in ,and you are nearer to the bairns.
My puter is back ,a lot better ,and fully loaded ,and i have just had a phone call from t Mobile to say that the phone is ready to pick up.
Hope everyone is okay and looking forward to the weekend ,take care all .Fred.xxx <3
